Liquitex Professional Gesso Surface Prep Medium, 3.78L (128-oz), Clear

Protects you painting and gives it a nice smooth finish. I bought the satin, which is in between the glossy and the matte.

My first experience using gesso. This is a good product as far as I can tell. Worked well to prime my glass vase before paint.

Girlfriend has used this before on home projects, it works really well. Nice prep for surfaces that normally may not take paint very well.

Liquitex clear gesso is a good product, easy to work with and does what it says it will do, however, this product came in a broken bucket and was spilling out into the box. This time the product performed differently than usual and instead of the clearness it was much cloudier. Granted clear gesso is inherently not 100% clear, especially with many applications. This time though, it dried much more opaque. Had to review this so late and was only able to use some of the gallon as the rest spilled everywhere and made an immense mess. Not the product’s fault but the fault is on the shipping. Amazon needs to make sure that they do not package things better so that damage like this doesnt happen again. Paid 60+ for a gallon and was only able to use less than a pint of it. Turns me off from using amazon again.

This is much thicker than I was expecting and probably wont order again. There is another one that is not as liquid as whats in the bottle and this. I use gesso for my whites and to prep my canvases. This is okay, but the mid-range is easier to work with.

Used it as a base for my craft painting

Used for covering a paper board so it could be used for acrylic painting. The product was excellent for this purpose and dried more quickly than the instructions indicated. The size of the container was not too large so it is useful for carrying around. Would use this company again for items.

Was not familiar with gesso until I did some research . A thin coat mixed with a little water I used a sponge brush to apply and let dry . It’s transparent , you can’t even see it. Paint goes on much more easily . Will be using from now on .
