Bought this out of concern that my 10+ year old mx518 would soon go out. Ergo is ALMOST exactly the same. Functions well and gets the job done; gaming, designing, FBing, etc...

I tried many gaming and regular mice, but very few allowed me to.... • rest my hand without my fingers pressing the buttons accidentally • had the browser back/forward buttons in place that was comfortable, and didnt press them accidentally • use a resting palm to navigate, not fingertips or claw • not spend an exorbitant amount of money • not constantly replace batteries, or worry if a distracting power warning, or signal aberration is about to interfere with my gaming in a clutch spot. • have a mouse wheel with a medium amount of resistance, but also offers tactile granularity (it clicks regularly, and consistently, for smooth, reliable scrolling. Not much jerking) This contour style seems to be a throwback, and largely going out of style. This is a shame, but this thumb contour style used to dominate the market, from what I remember. I will likely buy a replacement of this same mouse as soon as my current one shows signs of wear and tear -- but one year in, and its still wonderful.

The fit is great. The programmable buttons are fantastic. A great gaming mouse!

I have been using an MX518 for several years. My previous one served me well for a very long time, but had finally started to wear out. Happy with its performance, I ordered what looked to be an identical model. I was not entirely happy with the build quality. Although it has the same model designation, this mouse is clearly made with cheaper materials than my last one. Everything from the thickness of the cord to the weight of the mouse itself is nowhere near what the previous unit was. I am the type of person that once I find something I like, I will continue to buy the same thing again and again. Although the replacement mouse has functioned fine thus far, given the changes in build quality I will likely not automatically purchase the same unit in the future.

Mouse button 1 & Mouse button 2 are very loose it sounds like a spring when you click them and i have missclicks in games all the time and the annoying prong sounds from the loose buttons the mouse feet are used you can see the marks on them very pathetic & poor seller that seems fine with taking used products and reselling it as new very unsatisfied with my purchase and i will put this seller Green St. Sales as under those that you shouldnt buy from probably a save the planet used products as new

Ive been using an MX518 gaming mouse for around 15 years and have loved it. I had to replace it once during that interval but was able to get the same exact model. I recently bought another one for a second computer thinking that it would be the same as the old model other than some minor cosmetic changes. As soon as I got the mouse I could tell that it was a cheap knockoff of the old model. The old model feels nice and solid in your hand, whereas the new one feels like plastic garbage. The new one also makes a slight rattling noise when you pick it up and place it down, whereas the old one did not. I dont necessarily have any complaints about the function or performance of the new model, but the feel is terrible by comparison.
