> 3 dayBought it to control a recirculating hot water pump. I wanted to be able to turn it on remotely in the morning to get the hot water to the rear of the home for shower. Now I just click the button an my app and 3 minutes later, instant how water. Works flawlessly with Lutron app.

> 3 dayI already have the Lutron Caseta system to control several switches. This also integrates nicely with Apple HomeKit. I was unhappy with some other outdoor WiFi switches that always became unresponsive and had to be power cycled to get back on the network. I use these to control my two pond pumps (including automation) and they have been flawless.

04-06-2025The Lutron Outdoor Plug was a quick and easy install. I have several Cassetta dimmers and smart plugs, and addicting this outdoor plug to my systems was very simple. Just plug it in and the WiFi bridge immediately located it and I just added it as another one of my smart devices. I wish the wire (that actually plugs into the electric outlet) was longer and not just “pig-tail” length, but that is the only real shortcoming I have found … and it might not be a shortcoming for most others. Overall am very satisfied.

> 3 dayGood product but did not work in my Lutron RA select which I had ASSUMED. Seller was very understanding and allowed me to return the item. Seller was very easy to work with, especially given that the error was a result of an assumption I made.

> 3 dayThese item was easy to install and did exactly what I needed it to do. All other Lutron products allowed a slight feed on neutral allowing slight glow that was only visible at night. This product stopped that from happening.

> 3 dayYou will not go wrong with Lutron devices. They are used in the offices and hospitals. I replaced some unreliable outdoor wifi switch with these. I have their other devices and they are always online and work. That is the most important thing here. Also, you can pair a Pico switch to these and skip the hub all together to create a 4 way switch in seconds.

> 3 dayLutron is mind blowing, so expensive and so behind customer needs. Its ridiculous that this thing doesnt dim when every other smart outdoor switch dims. This shows that Lutron is still an old school lighting brand and not really a technology company.

> 3 dayI use this device to control my outdoor landscape lighting. I have a lot of Lutron Caseta in the house and this fit into my smart home system very nicely. It was added quickly to my Lutron app. I use the Lutron app to control all my outdoor lighting on a schedule related to sunrise and sunset. I dont integrate it to Alexa because there is no need to control the lights from the Alexa app, but it would be easy to add just like my other Caseta devices. There are two impressive things about this device. First it is well built and would seem to last a long time in an outdoor environment. Second is the range. It is not a WiFi device, it uses a 900Mhz frequency that has better penetration abilities than a 2.4Ghz signal. At first I thought I would have to install this device on the outside of the house between the outlet and the 12V transformer. But I realized that it would fit INSIDE the door on the transformer (I use a 150W transformer by Volt and it is 100% stainless steel enclosure). This made the installation much simpler and secured the device inside the transformer which you can lock. My Lutron hub is in a closet. There are 4 internal walls, a brick exterior wall and a full stainless enclosure around the switch and it works great. That is about 40 feet between the hub and the switch. I also tried it to an outlet in the backyard, even further from the hub and maybe one more wall and it still worked. Yes this switch is relatively expensive. But all the Lutron Caseta hardware I have bought is top quality. It is reliable, and Im not sending a command through some server halfway around the world to turn my lights on/off. This syncs my landscape lighting with my porch light and garage sconces. They turn on and off at the same time and I didnt need to add another system into my smart house. I removed all my WiFi connected devices out of my house, so I was happy to see Lutron release this. I bought a 2nd unit for the backyard.
