> 3 dayInstalled to switch garden path lights but the wireless signal does not reach the switch unless it is plugged into an outlet right next to the house, My transform for the lights is installed in a shed next to the house, too great a distance apparently.

Greater than one weekYou will not go wrong with Lutron devices. They are used in the offices and hospitals. I replaced some unreliable outdoor wifi switch with these. I have their other devices and they are always online and work. That is the most important thing here. Also, you can pair a Pico switch to these and skip the hub all together to create a 4 way switch in seconds.

Greater than one weekAll my switches are caseta…got these for my Christmas lights and work flawlessly. Expensive but you get what you pay for!

> 3 dayI had put off installing string lights on my deck hoping that Lutron would add an outdoor switch to the Caseta line. I installed the lights when I heard that their switch was coming soon, but I grew impatient and decided to try a much less expensive Homekit-ready wi-fi switch from another manufacturer. After 4 hours I was unable to get it working (despite meeting and following all recommendations and requirements). Fortunately, the Lutron Smart Plug became available for pre-order, and finally arrived last week. The complete setup, including Homekit and Alexa integration, took a grand total of 5 painless minutes. I cant speak to how installation will go with other hubs and systems, but this product is a no-brainer for existing Caseta users. The setup couldnt have been easier, and the switch has (so far) proved as dependable as the other Caseta products in my home. It is expensive and lacks certain features found in similar devices, but Ill gladly pay more for a fast, stress-free installation, seamless integration with my existing Caseta system, and complete reliability. And the build quality of this plug is extremely robust; it is clearly designed to withstand changing weather conditions with heavy-duty cabling and a solid enclosure.

> 3 dayPicked this up to control some heat cables on my roof to prevent ice dams. Its been working great in single digit weather and is clearly well made like all of the other Lutron devices we own.

Greater than one weekI could not rate the Alexa use as I am an App biggot, but like the the rest of the Caséta system it works perfectly with Siri so it should work with Alexa as well. Installation was simple. Plug it into an standard US duplex outlet. Plug the load into the other connection on the device. That is all. You can then press the waterproof button to turn the device on and off. To activate the remote function, open the app on your phone. Click the dropdown to reach add the device option. Select the device and follow the instructions on the phone. When you have completed all steps as instructed. You can turn on and off your device with the app on your cell phone. In addition, when you next open your Home App on your iPhone the new device will show up and can be added to all your regular scenes or automations. For those not familiar with the Caséta system, you will need to get a starter kit so you have a bridge. Without the bridge none of the Caséta products can be configured. They will work as local device controllers only. For Apple Siri integration, you also need an iPad or Apple TV you can leave connected to the same wireless system as the bridge and the bridge must be connected to the internet for proper setup.

> 3 dayI own six of these outdoor plugs for lights, water fountains and two indoor alarms. They are rock solid like all Caseta devices. Apple HomeKit never fails. Easy scheduling within the app or Apple HomeKit. I wish they would make an indoor outlet rated at 1800W.

> 3 dayThis is an extension cord. Thats all that is in the box. It has no way to connect with your smart phone, as advertised. This is not a smart plug. To make it a smart plug, you will need to purchase an additional component called a Smart Bridge, which is currently an additional $80. This is only mentioned in the fine print of this page. That doubles the cost of your project. This is a scam.
