Definitely worth the extra $7 over alternatives. I had a 2017-ish Wii hdmi converter for years. It was comparable to AV cable with different trade offs, but image quality was slightly inferior to games running in the WiiU vWii. (Built in hdmi) Eventually the old adapter case started to fall apart. The old adapter was so long, I was afraid the hdmi cable would torque out the video plug from the back of the Wii. This new adapter produces far more vibrant, sharper and consistent picture than any other options I’ve seen including vWii on the Wii U. Text is much more readable as a result. Both Wii and GameCube games come across as almost modern remasters or as though they were run through a good pc emulator.

This wii to hdmi is the best I’ve tried with no failures discoloring or diagonal lines it’s really really good, the best get this one and save yourself a headache. Added bonus is it doesn’t feel cheap in your hands either the others I’ve tried do… mhmm portholic….. If you ever need a good controller adapter for your switch they have a good one for that too no input lag like 8bitdo, they understand gamers.

This isnt compatable with my super Nintendo liksomreviews said so i never used it I returned it. Just make sure it is compatable to your system.

Seems to be pretty adequate at doing what it is supposed to do: convert the analog signal to digital. This means your TV has to do the work of taking that signal and stretching (scaling) it. Depending on the TV, this could mean the image gets blurry or sharp. It could also mean it adds input lag (latency). But thats the TV, not this device. If your TV has component (red, green, blue, white, and red) inputs and you have the proper cables, this will probably perform the same. If you dont have everything you need for component, though, this will get you the best raw image the Wii can provide.

Ive tried the others and all have one issue or another. This one just works. No noise in the video and no crackling sound.

I got both this version as well as the generic wii2hdmi that most are selling, and Ive found out that not all wii to hdmi adapters are created equally. With the generic one, I see more wavy diagonal lines. With the MayFlash, the picture is smoother, the diagonal lines are gone. You need to go to your wii setting and set it to wide screen and 480p. You also need to go to your display source and set it to widescreen as well. Everything looks proportional, the image is not stretched. This is a keeper, the other one is being returned. BTW, I should mention that Im using an ultra short throw projector with a 120 screen. With such a big image, maybe it is easier for me to see imperfections. So that should tell you how good this adapter is. It got rid of the lines I was seeing with the generic version. So on smaller screens, surely this adapter will do a great job for you.

Since most newer TVs dont have old school RGB or RYW audio and video inputs my old Wii sat idle for a long time. Only recently think about some of the older games and how my granddaughter might enjoy them like my (now grown) kids did. The Mayflash Wii to HDMI 1080p converter was inexpensive and did exactly what I had hoped it would do. The Wii now proudly sits along side my XBox and PS4 and displays beautifully on my 65 Samsung. My granddaughter and I have already enjoyed several Lego Wii games as well as Wi Fit for my wife and I. This is a no-brainer for anyone wanting to adapt old Wii tech to newer TVs.

Just to start, I fully expected it to NOT work by default on the wii mini. based on a quick peek inside to view what pins it it using, it is for sure wired to RGB lines, along with bridging pins 8 and 10, which is what the wii uses to detect component RGB mode. The wii mini, however, only does composite. Buuut I am very much a tinkerer and console modder, and wouldnt you know it but with the right materials you can bring back those component lines on the wii mini. There isnt much in terms of direct instructions, but for those who know how to figure things out, minirgbii is a small mod chip you can install. The only additional thing youll need to readd outside of that mod is the 5v on line 4 of the AV port, as this adapter pulls from that to power itself. I can now verify that after getting everything connected back up to the AV port, this adapter does work on wii mini. But it does require that hardmod, otherwise you will plug this adapter in and be very sad when you get no signal and no signs of life Figured I would post this since no reviews or questions mentioned the wii mini at all So TL;DR, does NOT work on wii mini without soldering in a mod that is a bit difficult, but if you are willing to go through the minirgbii mod, you can get this working on a wii mini.
