Greater than one weekThis Mayflash hdmi adapter was a replacement to the portholic hdmi adapter that I bought first. The portholic gave me faint diagonal lines in the image. It was also twice as large as this one. This one didnt have any visual abnormalities in the image and I could use 480p setting on my wii. It looks much better than the single video cable that came with the wii which only did 480i. I am very pleased with it and Ill be returning my portholic adaptor. The Mayflash one is much better.

> 3 dayDONT FORGET TO TURN on Widescreen plus EDTV in the wii video settings also at start of each gamecube game that will give you the full 480x720p resolution bass dose seem too loud not sure if its my TV or the device but a dongle would be stronger incase wii fell or something but this adapter uses pass threw which is what I wanted. I dont understand why it states 1080p in description must me translation error since it dose work on any 1080p TV. im REALLY HAPPY with it any retro gamer knows you dont want upscaling you want integer line doubling which my OLED already dose. Thank the gods this adapter is not a composite to HDMI the description kinda worried me I compared gladius on GC vs xbox both looked same shocking since xbox is so much powerfuller. its shocking how well component to HDMI adapters can look I didnt want to spend 260 bucks on a digital gamecube cables so I went with a Wii plus this adapter. Im really happy with money I saved. I know for fact no body could tell difference without a magnified glass if they comparing mayflash Wii to a digital gamecube. Kaico and Mayflash are the only HDMI adapters worth their salt... if it was not for the bass bottoming out It would be six stars lol !

> 3 dayThe other Wii HDMI adapter I tried, the Portholic, wouldnt display 480p, and I realized that most of the other adapters sold on Amazon are pretty much the same build and spec with different branding, to the point where the product descriptions are identical. I also tried a component-to-HDMI converter which transmitted 480p well, but is far less portable with the unit size, the need for a power supply and the need to bring a component cable too. So I decided to try this item because I knew it had at least a different spec than the Portholic and all its clones. 480p works great, and its even more compact and easy to carry, which was the whole point of looking for a direct HDMI adapter rather than a converter.

> 3 dayJust installed the MAYFLASH Wii to HDMI Converter today and it works perfect. Plugged it into the Wii and then plugged in an HDMI cable going to my T.V. Changed the Wii settings to 16:9 and EDTV. The games look so much better! Vibrant and bright colors and the text is easier to read. Amazon shipping was super fast. Im really happy with this purchase.

Greater than one weekThis works but Wii2hdmi from electron-sheperd looks much better. Less noise, better colors, you should go with that if you care about video quality and dont need an external audio output. However, this one has a much better build quality. Electron shepherd just 3d prints a housing and slaps a printed sticker on it, however the hardware inside is much more enthusiast grade.

> 3 dayJust to start, I fully expected it to NOT work by default on the wii mini. based on a quick peek inside to view what pins it it using, it is for sure wired to RGB lines, along with bridging pins 8 and 10, which is what the wii uses to detect component RGB mode. The wii mini, however, only does composite. Buuut I am very much a tinkerer and console modder, and wouldnt you know it but with the right materials you can bring back those component lines on the wii mini. There isnt much in terms of direct instructions, but for those who know how to figure things out, minirgbii is a small mod chip you can install. The only additional thing youll need to readd outside of that mod is the 5v on line 4 of the AV port, as this adapter pulls from that to power itself. I can now verify that after getting everything connected back up to the AV port, this adapter does work on wii mini. But it does require that hardmod, otherwise you will plug this adapter in and be very sad when you get no signal and no signs of life Figured I would post this since no reviews or questions mentioned the wii mini at all So TL;DR, does NOT work on wii mini without soldering in a mod that is a bit difficult, but if you are willing to go through the minirgbii mod, you can get this working on a wii mini.

> 3 dayI researched this product online first and this is the one that was preferred by some gaming person on YouTube. It arrived quickly. This was an easy install, plug and play. Got rid of a lot of extra cables and the picture is really clear for a HDMI transition. Great product.

> 3 dayGreat picture quality. It outputs 4:3 only, but if you know how to change your tv settings to 16:9 it is ok.
