Pro: size - two plugs easily fit in a standard double outlet and on standard size power strip (on compact strips you would still be able to fit a two-prong plug next to it.) This is a huge improvement over the old TP-link plug that took up 2 spaces on my power strip even when it was placed on the top (see picture.) Operation & Integration - once connected the plug just work. I quickly forgot that they werent always there; waiting for my command. I can turn off all the lights in the house from the iphone flip-up screen. Installation - Like a lot of Meross products, the plug has EZ mode and AP mode. The detail instruction sheet takes you through EZ mode. However, the plugs were all in AP mode (slow blink) and I could not get it to blink fast even after 3 resets. Once you get over the fact that the instruction sheet is quite unhelpful and follow the instructions below, and you will find that installation is a breeze. 1. Plug it in. Make sure that the light blinks green/amber. If its steady green, as in a previous setup, press and hold the button for 5 seconds to get it into setup mode. 2. on you iPhone, go to Settings | Wireless. wait a few seconds until the plug shows up under the heading set up new device... The name is meross_sw_B210 or something similar... Click on it. 3. You now get a message that allows you to Add to Home & Wi-Fi (see picture.) Smash that link to turn on the camera and scan the top of the plug to add it into Homekit. 4. After about 30 seconds Homekit allows you to select the room and name of the new device. The phone automatically switch back to you home wireless network. cons: Not a huge issue, but the position of the button on the side of the plug could be challenging to your less techie household members. The ability to share homekit settings with everyone can mitigate the issue, but Im a bit concern that Ill get a talking-to the next time my wife tries to turn on the floor lamp in the den. I have a couple of floor lamps and my Roku device connected to plugs. No more having to get up to manually reset Roku. A voice command to Alexa does the trick. The 4th plug is connected to my electric tea kettle to schedule it for my morning brew (until I get a smart tea kettle, but thats a battle for another day.)

The instructions, both on-line and in the package insert, are out of date and simply do not work. Installing these outlets is more a matter of guesswork than logic. Unless an almost obsessive level of patience is one of your core personal values, safe yourself a headache and buy something else.

Just received a 4 pack. Using them mainly to control fans throughout my home. They work great’. Would have been a 5 star review but the setup for them to work with iPhone Home Kit is a little clunky, not user friendly. Once you get it on one though the rest are quick.

I bought the 4 pack of these and found it pretty simple to install. I did have to switch my router to 2.4 GHz only for the installation only. I then also downloaded the Meross app and updated the firmware. Then I could turn back on my 5ghz network and everything worked perfectly.

So, I use these for lighting in my apartment since they do not have lights in them and use them for the bedrooms and living room to power on lights but to also automate them to turn off when I leave and turn on when I get home automatically. I specifically use homekit and these added just fine. I did download the meross app only to update the firmware on them and then deleted the meross app afterwards. I have no complaints on them. I use a wireless router that have the 2.4 and 5 frequency and combined with the same wifi name and had no issues and they react immediately when using voice control and manual button on the app. Just remember when you have set them up, to update the firmware as they come with older firmware which is expected.

These power adapters connected easily and directly to HomeKit, and did not require a meross application to configure. They respond quickly to control inputs, and are similar size and shape to all the other outlets I have. The price was excellent, and delivery was incredibly fast.

Finally a smart plug that works with HomeKit. Like for real this time. I’ve tried so many and they all failed except this one. You may need to occasionally restart them like most other smart plugs but they stay connected 99% of the time. Good product, works great.

The pairing process was a bit goofy (it is easier to just plug the outlets in and then join the ad-hoc wifi network from the device before doing anything else). I now have these devices working 100% reliably with both HomeKit as well as the Meross App. The low price, relatively compact size, and (now that they are working) instant response via HomeKit make these a winner in my view. HomeKit Problem and Solution: Via the Meross app, everything was working great, but the HomeKit status and control was very spotty. It would work for a few minutes and then the outlet would randomly be declared no response via HomeKit. After a bit of research and fiddling, I realized that my network was not playing well with the low level communication that Apple uses for HomeKit. In general: - Your wifi access points need to forward multicast DNS (mDNS) between 2.4g and 5g networks - Your wired network needs to forward mDNS between the wifi devices and any wired devices you are using with HomeKit (such as an AppleTV). - If you have an advanced home network with separate VLANs for IOT devices such as these outlets, then you will need a multicast reflector to forward the multicast traffic from the IOT VLAN to the VLAN where your mobile devices are located (for example, your iPhone / iPad / AppleTV). This can be as easy as ticking a box in the router/switch, or it could be a very long journey. Depending on how complicated your home network is, this will all just work without any effort, might require finding the correct setting in a WiFi AP or router, or might not work at all. In my case, I had to go into my UniFi controller and select Enable multicast enhancement (IGMPv3) under Wireless Settings > Advanced Settings. After this setting was pushed out to my UniFi APs, HomeKit was working perfectly from all of my iPhones and these outlets. Update: I also had to disable “airtime fairness” on my UniFi 2.4g radio settings.

    Greater than one week

With the first one, I had some problems with the setup. I then attempted to add a different one and had no problems, so I reinstalled the first one and it went smoothly. I installed all 4 plugs, and they are working great. The other important thing is that if you move from one to another outlet, all you have to do is rename it. I liked these so much I just purchased the outdoor plug and thinking about getting the switches. The interface is really nice since I installed using the Meross app and Alexa, Google and Apple apps were automatically updated too. I will always buy this brand to automate my house.

I have been slowly adding HomeKit products to my house and these might be my favorite! I wanted something easy to use for my window Christmas candles and these were honestly perfect. I was able to add each plug through the HomeKit app directly (no need to use the Meross app), grouped them together and now all of my candles come on at sunset and turn off either at midnight or when I tell Siri goodnight. Very happy!
