> 3 dayAs long as you’re using a 2.4 ghz it’s so easy to install. Use them for a light, candle, Christmas tree, etc! Can be a little bulky depending if you have furniture behind the outlet but overall no complaints. Led on the unit as well as a button is a bonus. I have everything setup on automation, it’s pretty neat stuff if you’re trying to start on your smart home on a budget!

> 3 dayI got these smart plugs to allow my parent’s to turn on some lights in their home using Siri. I was prepared with an older router to clone the details of their Google Internet mesh setup to allow the devices to connect to a 2.4ghz network for the initial setup (because so many smart plugs and devices out there are annoying in that they cannot setup directly onto a 5ghz network). I am VERY HAPPY to report that the Apple Kit setup option through the Meross app allowed me to SKIP ALL THAT! It is surprisingly nice when things work the way they should. Thank you to Meross for making a smart plug that is easy to setup on a Google mesh network (directly!). I’ve already ordered a second batch for my own home and will be trying one of their bulb products as well.

Greater than one weekI have a new Orbi mesh router with strong Wi-Fi coverage but these plugs don’t stay connected. I have to unplug and plug them back at least once a week. A firmware update has fixes the issues.

> 3 dayThe instructions, both on-line and in the package insert, are out of date and simply do not work. Installing these outlets is more a matter of guesswork than logic. Unless an almost obsessive level of patience is one of your core personal values, safe yourself a headache and buy something else.

Greater than one weekAfter getting Unable to add accessory errors - and getting ready to return this item, I finally read the fine print. I then switched my phone to the slower, older 2.4 GHz network and installation went smoothly. And, after adding to the HomeKit network, I could then return my phone to the speedier and less crowded 5 GHz WiFi network. For those of you that do not know, the original WiFi network was at 2.4 GHz. That was fine, until our network connections needed more speed (data capacity) and all of our neighbors got WiFi. The FCC has since opened up another set of WiFi channels usually referred to as the 5 GHz network (not to be confused with 5G cell phones - that is something different). All of your WiFi connections should be via the 5 GHZ network as it is faster and less prone to interference from nearby WiFi. But it does not travel as far and is more easily blocked by walls in the house. The Meross Smart Plug Mini - there is nothing mini about it - only communicates via the older 2.4 MHz WiFi. To get started, you must change your phone to your 2.4 MHz network in order to add this to the Apple HomeKit automated system. After this plug is added, be sure to switch back to the 5 GHz WiFi network. You will be able to control the Meross Smart Plug while connected to the 5 GHz network, as long as they are both on the same router. The only way to avoid this issue is to get a HomeKit device that works on the 5 GHz network. That will cost more.

> 3 dayI have around ten Meross smart items. A few Plugs and Blubs. When they stay connected and work, theyre truly amazing. But sadly, they often lose WIFI connection which requires a reset. Resetting the device is an absolute hassle as you need to delete the device(s) from the Meross or HomeKit app and then attempt to re-add them. Re-adding a device thats already been added can be a real headache as the connection will fail and claim the device already exists even though its been removed. I often need to complete the setup process many, many, many times before it will actually work and the device appears in my ecosystem again. When I finish writing this review, I need to attempt to reconnect 2 smart plugs and 1 bulb. This will be my fourth attempt this morning and the third time Ive had to do this process in the two weeks that Ive owned the devices. Be mindful, if you have MANY Meross devices, they all need to be connected/reconnected INDIVIDUALLY which can be time-consuming. Ill still continue to purchase Meross plugs and Bulbs but I honestly home the coming Firmware updates resolve this insanity.

> 3 dayThese HomeKit compatible smart plugs are super easy to setup with your iPhone. They are 2.4 ghz only but no issues with my dual band router.

19-11-2024I purchased the smart outlets to replace my Wemo outlets. The Meross outlets respond instantly. Granted my Wemo are a few years old, but there was always a delay in response. I really like the Meross app. I use it for my Meross garage door controller, wall switches, and outlets. I especially like the widget, which allow for quick access. The Wemo app does not have a widget. The Meross app widget is still the older pre-IOs 14 style, but I like how it shows the on and off state of each device. This new model offers Apple HomeKit support, and I did create a toggle switch in the Shortcuts app for the outlets, but The Shortcut buttons don’t show the on or off state. But HomeKit does allow you to create automations, like having a light go on when you arrive home. You can create routines in the app for on or off at a time or based on sunrise or sunset times. My only complaint with the app is that you can’t create just 1 routine with an on and off time, you need to create a routine for the on time and another for the off time. In the Wemo app, you could do both in 1 routine. You can also group Meross devices in Scenes, so you can control several with 1 button. One issue I ran into was with Alexa. Since I was replacing an existing outlet with a new outlet, I changed the name of the old outlet and removed it from the group, then gave the new outlet the old name so my voice commands would be the same, and added it to the group. It didn’t work at first, Alexa said I had multiple devices named “light”. After I deleted the old device completely, and waited a day, it worked. My guess is that the Alexa database must take a while to fully delete old devices, so be careful if replacing a device and using the same names.

> 3 dayExcelente articulo para iniciar en convertir tu hogar smart. En mi caso mi ecosistema es de Apple por lo cual integrarlo a HomeKit fue sencillo. Y ahora puedo controlar las luces de mi mesas de noches de la recamara principal desde el iPhone, iPad, MacBook y Apple Watch.
