> 3 dayWe use this for our LitterRobot and used it for our Christmas tree and our bedroom lights. It’s great because it connects with Google Home and Apple HomeKit so automation options are fantastic. It’s also very helpful for hard resetting the devices connected to them, especially while traveling.

> 3 dayI purchased the smart outlets to replace my Wemo outlets. The Meross outlets respond instantly. Granted my Wemo are a few years old, but there was always a delay in response. I really like the Meross app. I use it for my Meross garage door controller, wall switches, and outlets. I especially like the widget, which allow for quick access. The Wemo app does not have a widget. The Meross app widget is still the older pre-IOs 14 style, but I like how it shows the on and off state of each device. This new model offers Apple HomeKit support, and I did create a toggle switch in the Shortcuts app for the outlets, but The Shortcut buttons don’t show the on or off state. But HomeKit does allow you to create automations, like having a light go on when you arrive home. You can create routines in the app for on or off at a time or based on sunrise or sunset times. My only complaint with the app is that you can’t create just 1 routine with an on and off time, you need to create a routine for the on time and another for the off time. In the Wemo app, you could do both in 1 routine. You can also group Meross devices in Scenes, so you can control several with 1 button. One issue I ran into was with Alexa. Since I was replacing an existing outlet with a new outlet, I changed the name of the old outlet and removed it from the group, then gave the new outlet the old name so my voice commands would be the same, and added it to the group. It didn’t work at first, Alexa said I had multiple devices named “light”. After I deleted the old device completely, and waited a day, it worked. My guess is that the Alexa database must take a while to fully delete old devices, so be careful if replacing a device and using the same names.

> 3 dayThe pairing process was a bit goofy (it is easier to just plug the outlets in and then join the ad-hoc wifi network from the device before doing anything else). I now have these devices working 100% reliably with both HomeKit as well as the Meross App. The low price, relatively compact size, and (now that they are working) instant response via HomeKit make these a winner in my view. HomeKit Problem and Solution: Via the Meross app, everything was working great, but the HomeKit status and control was very spotty. It would work for a few minutes and then the outlet would randomly be declared no response via HomeKit. After a bit of research and fiddling, I realized that my network was not playing well with the low level communication that Apple uses for HomeKit. In general: - Your wifi access points need to forward multicast DNS (mDNS) between 2.4g and 5g networks - Your wired network needs to forward mDNS between the wifi devices and any wired devices you are using with HomeKit (such as an AppleTV). - If you have an advanced home network with separate VLANs for IOT devices such as these outlets, then you will need a multicast reflector to forward the multicast traffic from the IOT VLAN to the VLAN where your mobile devices are located (for example, your iPhone / iPad / AppleTV). This can be as easy as ticking a box in the router/switch, or it could be a very long journey. Depending on how complicated your home network is, this will all just work without any effort, might require finding the correct setting in a WiFi AP or router, or might not work at all. In my case, I had to go into my UniFi controller and select Enable multicast enhancement (IGMPv3) under Wireless Settings > Advanced Settings. After this setting was pushed out to my UniFi APs, HomeKit was working perfectly from all of my iPhones and these outlets. Update: I also had to disable “airtime fairness” on my UniFi 2.4g radio settings.

> 3 dayThe plug was easy to install and integrate to Apple’s Home app. After the first one, I spent less than 2 minutes each on the following ones. Unfortunately, 1 out of 4 in the pack failed. It would not be recognized by my home network multiple times, and I noticed the power button was not able to manually switch on/off a connected table lamp. I contacted Meross and provided the HomeKit ID of the defective plug and finally gained approval from its customer services to send me a replacement under warranty (!?). The new one works fine.

> 3 dayHad another brand I got from a friend and they weren’t that reliable or hooked up to Apple HomeKit. These do and they are so fast! There’s no delay when pressing the button on my iPhone. Love that! Would highly recommend if you are looking to get your house outlet plugs hooked up with HomeKit for cheap.

Greater than one weekOrdered these to control some indoor Christmas lights. I was excited about them until a coworker told me he had had many issues with them disconnecting from the WiFi and you had to unplug/replug them ever few days. Sure enough, this started happening to me within the first few days. However, I noticed there was a firmware update that needed installing. Once I installed that, everything worked perfectly and we never lost wifi signal again. I told my coworker and he updated his, and although he was skeptical and said he had already been through several firmware updates that never fixed the problem, a few days later he admitted that things now seemed fine on his end too. So now that the firmware is taken care of these seem to work great. If you have issues, make sure you update the firmware via the app.

> 3 dayI have had a battle trying to set these up with HomeKit. Meross provides a ton of troubleshooting methods such as restarting the router, turn iPhone on/off, switch Wi-Fi to 2.4GHz, factory reset the switch. I have never been more frustrated setting up a HomeKit product. After all this troubleshooting I could only get 2 out of 4 to pair, and after all this troubleshooting I have no idea what was actually successful. The two that are paired work great, but my oh my was getting them setup a huge pain. EDIT: once they are paired, they are a breeze, and an awesome product that is great for the price.

> 3 dayI started buying Meross Smart MiniPlugs about a year ago, attracted by their price, and a little nervous about their quality. I have found the MiniPlugs to be solidly built, relatively easy to set up, and have had no reliability issues. I also bought a smart wall switch and wall dimmer switch from Meross. Same good experience with both of those. Although I believe you can add these devices to Home without installing the Meross app, you will not be able to get upgraded firmware for the devices without having a Meross app and account. This is not a big issue - the app is free, and doesnt trouble you with notifications or junk mail, etc. Apple Home will tell you that a device update is available. You simply use the app, click update and its done. I bought another 4 mini plugs during a cyber Monday deal saving about $2 on each device. Even without the discount, these smart plugs are an excellent value.

> 3 dayBought this to use with Apple HomeKit. Constantly have to reset and add devices back to home because they will stop working. Very poor device. Really wish I hadn’t bought it.
