> 3 dayThis plug works fine, their app works for setup (I deleted it after adding it to Google Home, but it seems nice for non-assistant operation of the outlet), and the 16A relay is higher power than most. I have unplugged them briefly and moved them around and they kept their setup. I have no complaints and they do the job of smart outlets that literally cost 3 times as much. I had a setup hiccup that I think is the source of 99.9% of the it wouldnt connect to wifi reviews; it wont work if your router uses the same SSID for 2.4GHz and 5Ghz. You have to use separate SSIDs and connect to the 2.4GHz one. Of course, all smart plugs only support 2.4GHz and you wouldnt want them crowding your 5GHz network anyway. The MediaTek chipset is not supported by 3rd party firmware like Tasmota (yet), but it is a superior chipset to the EPS variants other plugs use (and Tasmota supports). These do route all commands through Meross servers (like almost all smart devices do), but there is a small hack to make it look at a local server instead and there is increasing interest to get a 3rd party firmware up and running for them. The hack does not require opening the device, but does require running a mosquito server on your LAN all the time; I only recommend it for very security minded and tech savvy people.

> 3 dayI purchased 4 of these smart plugs and have had them for about 2 months. In my opinion, these are not reliable. Sometimes they work and too many times they do not. Even when trying to use them with the app many times the app reports they are unreachable. Three of the four are very close to my WiFi access point with full bar WiFi signal. I have used other brands for several years and have not encountered a problem like this. Do with this what you will, but I will not be purchasing any more of this brand. This is just my experience with this product and my opinion. UPDATE: Within a day or two of my initial review, Meross reached out to me offering to help. I explained in detail the problem and they immediately responded with several suggestions and stated if if these did not work to send them more details on my network setup. Their first suggestion of assigning static IP address to each of the switches worked, It has now been about two weeks since that change and I have have not had a single issues with the switches, whereas prior to that one or more of the switches would not respond every day. I have never had to assign smart switches a static address in the past, however, I recently upgraded all my network equipment, so that may have been the issue with these switches. In any event assigning static address is an easy and quick procedure and has completely resolved the issue with the smart switches. I greatly appreciate and respect Meross for caring about their product and customer satisfaction, reaching out and working with me until this issue was completely resolved. Thank you Meross, and a special thanks to Fiona of the customer support team.

> 3 dayI own 20 of these. Of those, 4 have been sidelined for reduced wifi range (not initially, but over time), and 2 for not being able to handle 1500 watt heaters (1800 watts is claimed by the manufacturer). other keywords: burn, melt, fire hazard, amperage, amps, overload.

20-11-2024I have had one Meross switch and 8 plugs four years ago. All continue to work with no issue. I just bought four more plugs. Setting them up is a no-brainer. The thing I like about Meross a lot is that either the switch or the plug is so reliable and responding kind of instantly. The only time I had no connection was when the power was out at my home and I was overseas at that time but a family member could come by and reset all units quickly. I will buy more this plug or switch when if I need to.

> 3 dayHad these over 6 months now. Ive primarily been using the Belkin Wemo Mini plugs for my home automation, and Ive been dabbling in various other brands as they would pop up with a great deal. The problem with the Wemo plugs is the 10A limit. In most cases, thats going to be fine, except that theyre generally going to be powered via a 15A circuit, meaning the circuit breaker isnt going to protect them from over amperage. I also tried the Amazon Plug, but I found it a bit too chunky, and Amazon has made a design decision that it will never provide the ability to return to its last power state after a power failure. This means that if I have something plugged into it that should usually be powered on, and I have a power blip, the plug will switch off and stay off. Not good. So, when I spotted this 4-pack at a great price on a lightning deal, I noticed they are rated at 16A, instead of the 10A most of their competitors are limited to. And, Ive been using several Meross products lately, and Im really happy with them. In the spirit of full disclosure, I will say that Meross has added me to their list of product reviewers and will occasionally reach out to me with products to evaluate for them, but I do not give good reviews unless I feel the product has earned it. However, it has provided me some decent exposure to their product line, and their customer service. So, I quickly jumped on the deal and bought these. I found their shape is very similar to the Amazon plug, except that their just small enough to allow two of them to be plugged into the same duplex outlet (unlike the Amazon plug). A bit larger than the Wemo Mini plugs, but with the higher current rating, thats not surprising. I found these are extremely easy to set up in the Meross app on my iPhone, and firmware updates are very quick and easy. Out of all the various brands of WiFi smart plugs Ive tried (Ive only tested WiFi plugs that dont require a dedicated hub), these are now my favorite. Its just a great product.

Greater than one weekI like these switches because they are relatively easy to set up and they have worked perfectly with Alexa. The setup went basically like this: I scanned the QR code in the instruction sheet. This took me to the Google Play store, and to the Meross app. I created a Meross account with an secondary email address I use for these kinds of things and randomly generated password from Nortons website. I plugged in one of the plugs and followed the instructions in the Meross app. Note that at one step, the app will attempt to make a direct wifi connection from the plug to your phone (android phone, not sure about iPhones). If the direct connection succeeds then you just move through the remaining steps to completion but if the connection cant be established, there is a pop up in the Meross app to make the connection manually. Once the plug was setup, I went into the Alexa app, searched the Skills section for Meross and authenticated to my new Meross account from within the Alexa app. At first I thought I was providing my Amazon account info to Meross, which I just was not going to do, but after a second I realized I was providing my Meross account info to Amazon and I have no problem doing that. Once the skill was enabled, the Alexa app saw the plug and integration was complete. Once the first of 4 plugs was done, configuration time for the 3 remaining plugs was about 1 minute per plug. I then plugged these in around the house and plugged stuff in; fans, lamps. They work flawlessly. 4 plugs for 25 bucks is a great value in my mind. I saw 1 plug for 25 bucks and you get 4 of these plugs for that price.

> 3 dayEven though I didnt like having to install an app to configure these (I would have rather used the Google Home app), setup was super simple and Google Home integration was flawless. Operation through the app is super quick; Google Home can be a 1-2 second delay.

> 3 dayI have quite a few of them. Over the time it will fail and need replacement. For those who said not easy to connect you might need to check 1. update your routers firmware or2. just reset the router !

> 3 dayIm giving this product a high score - it works very well, has a great integration into Alexa, has an intuitive app to manage and control the switches. Also, although I had a minor installation issue, Id say installation is fairly easy. I have a mesh wireless network in my house and I installed my first smart switch in one of the rooms that is being served by a satellite. Using the app to config the switch, I managed to connect to the switch (through a proprietary SSID it uses for configuration, like many other devices), but as it rebooted it would not connect to my home network. This was frustrating - I kept trying for a few times with no success. I contacted the support (email only) and based on their answer I realized the switch needs to connect to the primary access point controller (it was trying to connect to the satellite). I moved it closer to the primary AP and it got configured. I then moved it to the room where I needed it to be and it worked well. Id recommend this switch - good price and great experience overall with the product.
