This plug works fine, their app works for setup (I deleted it after adding it to Google Home, but it seems nice for non-assistant operation of the outlet), and the 16A relay is higher power than most. I have unplugged them briefly and moved them around and they kept their setup. I have no complaints and they do the job of smart outlets that literally cost 3 times as much. I had a setup hiccup that I think is the source of 99.9% of the it wouldnt connect to wifi reviews; it wont work if your router uses the same SSID for 2.4GHz and 5Ghz. You have to use separate SSIDs and connect to the 2.4GHz one. Of course, all smart plugs only support 2.4GHz and you wouldnt want them crowding your 5GHz network anyway. The MediaTek chipset is not supported by 3rd party firmware like Tasmota (yet), but it is a superior chipset to the EPS variants other plugs use (and Tasmota supports). These do route all commands through Meross servers (like almost all smart devices do), but there is a small hack to make it look at a local server instead and there is increasing interest to get a 3rd party firmware up and running for them. The hack does not require opening the device, but does require running a mosquito server on your LAN all the time; I only recommend it for very security minded and tech savvy people.

We have several dogs. So we sleep with a large fan on in the bedroom both for the comfortability and to keep any noise down, either us waking up dogs, or dogs waking us up. And yes, first world problem, having to get up to turn the fan on and off. So I decided to try a smart plug, and this one had tons of good reviews. And the price was amazing. It came out to be about $5 per plug when I bought the 4-pack with a coupon that was offered. The setup was extremely easy. The app is great. On the app, you can label each plug AND put a photo of the item being controlled by that particular plug. Which I just think is very neat. Once you have it set up on the WiFi, and get the app set up, its super easy to control everything. Also, you can set up an account on their app, then log into that account on other devices using the app, so you dont have to go through setting everything up. If you add a device, it will sync up between any devices you are logged into with the account. That made it easy, I just set it up, then installed the app on my beautiful girlfriends phone and logged into it, and everything was ready for her to use. It says 15 amp capacity per plug, which is decent. Im not sure I would try to test that capability. I think if you are trying to remotely control the power of any heavier-duty electronics, you should get a plug rated for higher than you plan to use. For example, we use ours for our large fan, which is only 3.5 amps, and lamps around the house. Overall, I was surprised at how well these plugs worked. The app is great. Connectivity is great. The price was great. I suppose the only detail that might detract from a more expensive smart plug is that these plugs only support 2.4Ghz WiFi. So if you dont have that running, you would not get the network connectivity. Other than that, this is an incredible product. Very happy with them. They are used every day, multiple times, with no issues whatsoever. Highly recommend these smart plugs.

I purchased a bunch of these to control christmas lights all over the house. These smart plugs were some of the easiest things to configure in all my experience with smarthome products. They work excellent! I have them integrated with samsung smarthings and Alexa. I cannot stress enough how easy they are to use. I have had many other products that are a pain to setup and just do not work as advertised. Meross smart plugs are the best! I really like that the light on the side is un-obtrusive and the button to manually activate is also on the side and not obtrusive. you rarely use the manual button so there is not need for it to stick out. The app is excellent and allows full control over the smart plugs. you can customize the name of the plugs, pictures, etc. in the app. the firmware updates super easy. They connect to wi-fi the first time and stay connected. They just work! I have integrated 12 of them into smarthings with no problems. Alexa works flawlessly with them. I thought I would just use them for christmas lights but I find that I am also using them now for other devices I want to control with just a plug switch.

I had originally purchased the Gosund smart plugs but had continuous connectivity problems and problems setting them up to work with my Alexa. The Meross smart plugs connected almost immediately to the Meross app and shortly after connected to the Alexa app without any intervention from me. These are by far the best for the money. I would recommend them if youre looking for smart plugs.

Instructions are a bit sketchy. When joining the Meross Wi-Fi as directed a “no internet connection” message kept popping up which makes you think there’s a problem. Apparently this is to be expected because if you ignore that message and go back to the Meross app it says the smart plug is ready to go. So far they work well ……time will tell.

Im very impressed with how easy and fast these outlets operate. Four for $15 is a great deal, and the app is incredibly easy and sleek to use. Works great with Hey Google as well, I cant believe the technology for the price.

My 11 yr old son got these as a gift. He was able to set it up by himself and get it to work just fine. It took a little work but he did get it done. So far it has worked just fine. So much easier to turn the lights on and off. It is paired with my newer Alexa echo dot.

Easy-peasy to install using an app you download. Once installed it integrates seamlessly with Alexa and adds a lot of convenience operating lights and appliances. I’ve bought a lot of smart plugs over the years and these appear to be as well made and reliable as the others. Would recommend.

A problem with this smart plug is, once you’ve programmed it, if you change your wifi password, you have to delete the device from your app and add it back to start all over again. There’s no way to just edit password—which would be so much easier. It’s fine once you’ve programmed/automated it.

Had these over 6 months now. Ive primarily been using the Belkin Wemo Mini plugs for my home automation, and Ive been dabbling in various other brands as they would pop up with a great deal. The problem with the Wemo plugs is the 10A limit. In most cases, thats going to be fine, except that theyre generally going to be powered via a 15A circuit, meaning the circuit breaker isnt going to protect them from over amperage. I also tried the Amazon Plug, but I found it a bit too chunky, and Amazon has made a design decision that it will never provide the ability to return to its last power state after a power failure. This means that if I have something plugged into it that should usually be powered on, and I have a power blip, the plug will switch off and stay off. Not good. So, when I spotted this 4-pack at a great price on a lightning deal, I noticed they are rated at 16A, instead of the 10A most of their competitors are limited to. And, Ive been using several Meross products lately, and Im really happy with them. In the spirit of full disclosure, I will say that Meross has added me to their list of product reviewers and will occasionally reach out to me with products to evaluate for them, but I do not give good reviews unless I feel the product has earned it. However, it has provided me some decent exposure to their product line, and their customer service. So, I quickly jumped on the deal and bought these. I found their shape is very similar to the Amazon plug, except that their just small enough to allow two of them to be plugged into the same duplex outlet (unlike the Amazon plug). A bit larger than the Wemo Mini plugs, but with the higher current rating, thats not surprising. I found these are extremely easy to set up in the Meross app on my iPhone, and firmware updates are very quick and easy. Out of all the various brands of WiFi smart plugs Ive tried (Ive only tested WiFi plugs that dont require a dedicated hub), these are now my favorite. Its just a great product.
