> 24 hourPurchased this along with another dictionary for an older child, and this Elementary Version beat the other hands down - in the way its laid out, quality of the paper and print. The book is heavier than most, because of the quality of the paper - but its not a 3 or 4 inch book. Its for kids, so I dont expect every word is included. It should get her by for quite a few years. Giving it away as a gift.

> 24 hourI bought this for my son who is heading into 5th grade and it is perfect. It is extremely easy to use and understand and I wish we had bought it sooner. I expect hes going to get a lot of use out of it and then the next couple years.

> 24 hourI bought this for my 8 year old. The high school dictionary we had was too overwhelming for her. This is a wonderful first dictionary for elementary kids! The writing isn’t quite as small as the high school version, there are pictures for some entries, the definitions seem a little more simple, and each letter is color coded on the edge, which makes it a little easier to find say words that start with “L”.

> 24 hourI bought this for my second-grade grandson. He gets a lot of use from it now, and there are so many features he can grow into it as well. Its well organized, bright and appealing. He likes to just browse through it. A nice alternative to the Internet for curious kids.

> 24 hourThis book has proven valuable even with a few words missing (no dictionary has all the words, does it?) However, we are using this for homeschool purposes and imagine my surprise, while teaching about writing and Columbus and the Taino people, that the words “rhetoric” and “indigenous” (respectively) do NOT exist in this book. I don’t fault anyone- it’s not like the entire English language could ever fit in here, however, the word “tweet” (as in the tweets you add to your Twitter account) IS listed, so I’m left wondering who prioritized social media over other words. It is still a valuable resource- my children are learning how to research, investigate, critique, and question articles and their “sources”. Today’s journalists don’t even do that today it seems, and my kids are 7 and 4. For that, I’m giving it 4 stars. I’ll review my opinion in a year if anything else surfaces.

> 24 hourThis dictionary is very comprehensive, easy to navigate and very sturdy. Many of the pages have illustrations which help kids to visualize the meaning of the word as well. I would definitely recommend it.

> 24 hourAmazon product for third graders that are learning how to use the dictionary. The paper has great quality. The colors are bright. The definition is great. And the hard cover is just the cherry on top.

> 24 hourI purchased this for my son to challenge him to look up unfamiliar words. This has made him a better student and a more solid reader. He now takes his time when reading and will immediately stop to look up words if he is unaware of the definitions. He doesnt attempt homework without it.
