Greater than one weekNot as great for 5th grade as it would be for younger grades... a lot of my students tried using it for our vocabulary units but most of the words aren’t in it. Other than that, it’s very sturdy, well organized, and easy to read! It was a great resource to teach my students how to use a dictionary! I still keep it in my classroom.

Greater than one weekTruth be told, I actually ordered this dictionary for my grandson due to a one star review from someone who disliked it because there was no reference to a homosexual lifestyle or the alphabet soup lifestyle. Now before you go and flame me with the typical progressive name calling that we have all come to expect, I am a small business owner and I have 2 homosexuals, one female and one male, that work for me. They are respected because they are good people. SO lets take this one step further. The one star reviewer makes no mention that there is also no entry in this dictionary for heterosexual either. A typical move of the progressive indoctrination crowd. Here is a wonderful dictionary that lets children be children. As children age, they can discover and explore in their own appropriate time the vagaries of our age.

> 3 dayRemember when you asked for help looking up a word and your parent said, Go look it up in the dictionary! ? This is a good tool to have at home especially for 2nd + as they need to learn how to use a dictionary... per state standards. Came promptly and was new.

> 3 dayThis dictionary is just what I was looking for as a handy reference for my 7-, 9-, and 12-year-olds. Its visually appealing - so much so that we just enjoy flipping through and reading. The definitions are clear, and the kids are able to familiarize themselves with using a dictionary properly. A great purchase!

> 3 dayI truly commend the colorful layout. The alphabetical colored tabs make it quick & easy to open up the dictionary in the alphabet needed. As an adult, the larger font is easy on my eyes. Im an adult college student and replaced my small Webster Collegiate Dictionary with this one!

> 3 dayI bought this for my son who is heading into 5th grade and it is perfect. It is extremely easy to use and understand and I wish we had bought it sooner. I expect hes going to get a lot of use out of it and then the next couple years.

> 3 dayPurchased this along with another dictionary for an older child, and this Elementary Version beat the other hands down - in the way its laid out, quality of the paper and print. The book is heavier than most, because of the quality of the paper - but its not a 3 or 4 inch book. Its for kids, so I dont expect every word is included. It should get her by for quite a few years. Giving it away as a gift.
