> 3 dayThe key pad is simple enough to install, however when it came to time have it learn our remotes, it would not learn it. We tried over and over for an hour. I was ready to return it, and get another when I read a review from Geanie. Explaining that I cant use the remote to sync the key pad, I need to use the main panel. I tried that, and VOILÁ, it worked perfectly. Here they are: I attempted to install the keypad today. The instructions for the new keypad are the exact same ones located on the mighty mule website. The problem is that the instructions are not compatible with the newest model gate openers (MM271/371/571, etc.), this is mentioned in many of the most recent reviews for the keypad. Some of the reviewers mentioned they contacted tech support and got instructions but then didnt include the instructions in the review. So here they are: ***Change the master code, you can follow the instructions for the keypad to do this (not actually required to program the keypad to the gate opener but you might as well do it now)*** 1. On the control board press the orange button labeled S3, it is the middle one, on my control board the return symbol is above it. The control board will beep. 2. Then using the keypad enter the master code and hold the last digit until the control board beeps. Then release the last digit. 3. Before attempting to use the keypad, wait until the keypad beeps three times, this can take up to 40 seconds. Once the keypad beeps three times, test the keypad by entering the master code, the gate should open. THANK YOU GEANIE!!

> 3 dayThis is a great product. Easy to install and use. The key pad lights up in red when using so very user friendly even at night. Recommendations: You will need a remote for each car to open gate when leaving premises.

> 3 dayI am a little disappointed in this keypad. When I put in my gate I had originally wired to install the keypad as a wired unit thinking it would be secure and would keep me from having to use batteries in the keypad. Now that I have it I realize I was wrong. The keypad still runs off its batteries even when direct wired to the gate controller that has its own batteries and solar charger. From a security standpoint I am only using it in wireless mode now. I had hoped the pad would send some type of secure-ish signal to the opener but it is actually just a dry contact switch like what you would have on an inside garage door opener. I realize its just a drive way gate and we arent talking Fort Knox type security but some type of proprietary signal between the keypad and the controller would be nice. Anybody with a pocketknife could open the gate if they had knowledge of how it works when wired.
