For the price, these are excellent oil pastels. It’s a very nice assortment of colors that will work for still life, landscape, and there’s even some good colors for portraits. They are not as soft as Sennelier OPs, but in terms of softness they are comparable to Holbein Oil pastels, which are my favorite OP of choice. I highly recommend for beginners, and for professionals. It’s good to have a less expensive brand to use for your first layers, and saving your more expensive Holbeins, and Senneliers for the final layers.

i very disappointed , the set came half broken for one, which i overlooked, but then when i started using them they were almost impossible to blend so i purchased a better quality of paper meant for these thinking it would help and it didn’t i don’t know if i receive a bad batch or if this is how they are normally, but to blend took all my strength and even then it wasn’t smooth and soft like other brands i have tried

Very nice colours, the oil pastels have a lot of crumbs all over the floor, making it hard for me to clean the floor

I bought this as a gift for my niece. She is 13 and really liked them. I have no clue how they feel or the quality of them so my rating is just based off her reaction to opening the gift.

I recently purchased some very fine and fancy oil pastels that are great but I paid $50 for a handful of colors. Then I found these, hoping Id just be able to use them for blending. As it turns out, these are soft and creamy and wonderful all on their own.

Im super picky. Im not a fan of oil pastels that crumble, so it took me a while to read reviews before I purchased. Finally settled on these and I couldnt be happier.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these soft oil pastels. Their softness is such a pleasure to work with because how silky soft each stroke feels. They blend so much easier than harder pastels its like drawing with lipstick. Blending them is a breeze with your fingers, a paper blending stump, or a paper blending tortillion. Lay them down thick or very thin. Its up to you. Go crazy and heat with a hair dryer and use a palette knife for an impasto effect. If you want to then them down a bit or get more of a watercolor effect., just use turpentine or other solvent with a brush or cotton swab. You can lay them down thick alone or by layering them then scratching out images with a sharp object to do scraffito. I like using a bamboo skewer the most to get fine lines. Combs and other things you have laying around that can be used to make marks should also be considered. You will never know what you can achieve unless you try!

I had been using the $5 set of oil pastels from Walmart and these are 1000 times better!!! I have never used the expensive oil pastels that are recommended for artists, so I cannot compare. All I can say is: the crumbs are limited (only really happens when applying layers, and even those crumbs are minimal); the blending is great; the colors are vibrant; and the color selection is very good. I added photos of the 48 colors and a concept sketch. For the price, I highly HIGHLY recommend these oil pastels! I really struggled to get into using oil pastels when I was using crappy quality, but with these, its a joy!!

Very creamy and easy to use. Doesn’t smell and just glides on paper. Thank you!! ☺️
