Mungyo Gallery Soft Oil Pastels Set of 48 - Assorted Colors

Wanted to try my hand at oil pastels. I had some student grade ones in the house by Pentel Arts that I got from Hobby Lobby and used them. Really loved working with them, but I did not like how messy they were. By that I mean after coloring in an area I had all sorts of... what do I call them? Crumbs?? Little bits I had to gently brush off. I figured that was just the way oil pastels were. So I decided I enjoyed using them enough to invest in more, especially since I wanted more colors. I thought these were reasonably priced so tried them. Guess what?? Hardly any crumbs! So it was the cheapo Pentels. What a great discovery! I also love how creamy these lay down and how the colors are vibrant and pretty darn opaque. Really happy I got these. My only regret is not getting the larger set to begin with, because now I want MORE colors of this fine brand.

These are such a small step down, in my opinion, from Sennelier oil pastels in terms of vividness an blendability and at such a reasonable price. I use these all the time and prefer them to any others, except the aforementioned. They are also available by the piece from online art supply stores, so that you can replace your more-quickly-used colors.

Completely YUMMY!! They are former than sennelier and have a creamy , buttery consistency with plenty of color pigment. Will definitely order again !! Also ordered the pearl aquarelle from Mungyo ; left a review for those ❤️❤️

Bought these for my husband who does oil pastel art. He likes the smoothness and quality of these pastels and recommends these.

i’ve never used oil pastels but these were great ! easy to blend and use, i was surprised that all of the pastels arrived in tack with no breaks. great value !
