10-06-2025Very good and efficient switch. Small an convenient. Worked without any special set up. Right out of the box. I connected all 8 of my wired devices and all get great internet connection. I have gigabit service and this switch is a gigabit switch and helps to get all my wired devices online.

> 3 dayBeen using similar products for years. Only difference is this one has gigabit on it. Im impressed that NetGear is still selling good basic product in metal case. Would recommend this in industrial environment.

> 3 dayI bought this to replace a GS108 that fried after many years. I installed it with 9 ports used. Turns out one of the ports showed gigabit connection, but the throughput for the device was 10mBit/s. I plugged the same device into another port, and throughput increased to 100 mBit per second. Maximum throughput on transferring a large video file, both devices Gigabit Ethernet, was 120mBit/s. So, I returned this router and replaced it with a 16 port cisco that cost me about $40 more. All ports worked on the new device, and throughput - same two computers, same file - increased to 320 mBit/s. The Cisco router may well have been capable of higher transfer speeds - I suspect the transfer was limited by hard drive speeds.

> 3 dayUsed this for a house networking project. Works great, although Ive observed it adding a small amount of latency (~1-2ms) to network traffic that flows through it. Not a huge deal for me.
