> 3 dayoh I love these switches. I have Cat 7 cabling running around my house and the Gigiabit Ethernet switch worked well. I have 2 of them in the house (upstairs and downstairs) and the switches have been working flawlessly.

02-06-2025I have two of these and they work great if you do not put them on top of your components. I would sometimes lose connectivity, I believe due to heat.

> 3 dayNo frills, it just works. What more do you need from an Ethernet hub? As a bonus, its a nice looking little gizmo.

Greater than one weekAfter hunting elsewhere for decent switches with alternating (amber/green) link lights, I went back to the tried and true Netgear GS line. Hopefully these old units will still be around in a few years because they are rock solid.

> 3 dayI had an old 10/100Mbs switch that was limiting my throughput to a few devices on the edge of my network. Well, I just replaced it with this 1Gbs switch. Literally just plugged in the ethernet cables from the old switch to the new switch, and instantly I was getting 250Mbs instead of capping out at 90Mbs. (For reference, Im ISP supposedly gives me 500 Mbs, and this is routing first through a 500Mbs cable modem, then a google home mesh point wired connection, then through the first 1Gbs switch, then through THIS new 1Gbs switch). Id say with all of those hops, Im pretty happy with my actual speeds and the improvement this switch provided! Absolutely 5 stars. The simplest install of any computer equipment ever. It just works!

> 3 dayI have several switches like this throughout the house. They work really well and seem to be well made. I also have the 8 port metal switch which is sturdier but will get warmer than this. The switch comes with a power adapter and a couple of stands that clamp on and will allow you to install it vertically. The stand will do their job but dont expect much in terms of stability. The best time to get this switch is when Netgear has a rebate for it and they seem to have rebates all the time. At that time it can be found for as low as $20-30. Highly recommended product for the money.

> 3 dayI bought this switch to replace a 5-port version of the same thing. I have this in my entertainment center for all my internet connected devices. It is currently working great and gives off very little heat. The issue I had with the 5-port was that during a storm we got a surge and despite being on a surge protector it went a little crazy. I believe since my router was the only equipment I didnt have on a surge protector and it blew out. I am guessing that a surge went through the ethernet and killed the switch? In either case my new apple tv I had connected to the switch had its ethernet port killed as well. I ended up getting a free replacement but just be warned that the switch could have a chance of conducting a surge through the ethernet. Just keep all your stuff on surge protectors is the moral of the story really. Now everything I have is.
