Nova Development US, Print Artist Platinum 25

I was hoping for a more professional package with strong templates for flyers and eblasts - nothing like that here, more a hobby approach.

It is unable to handle the more complicated projects you might want to create. By that I mean, the more objects (photos, graphics, and text boxes) that you import into a project, the more likely you will find the program freezing and/or crashing. You will get message boxes that tell you that you are unable to save, that you dont have permission to write to your drive, etc. For example, of the 15 or so basic personalized cards we have created, there have been no glitches. Great, but when I wanted to create a travelogue by creating two cards, printing them, and pasting two ends together, it was a real struggle to get through it. That project required 2-4 text boxes, and 2-4 personal photos, and 2-4 graphics from their library per each of 8 pages divided between 2 projects (Card 1 and Card 2). It seems that the more times you open up a complicated project and save it (and you will do so many times on the complicated ones) the closer you get to the crash point. And when it happens, you will be frustrated because you were oh-so-close to finishing it. I realized the above after several phone calls and emails with the developer and applying all their fixes. I even sprung for the 10 dollars to get step by step help over the phone. I eventually solved the problem myself, though it took a lot of extra work. I happened to have printed several test pages during the creation. With those test pages, I opened up a new project, gave it a different name, then set to work finishing it in one sitting. I avoided hitting save during the whole session, and then got it printed before any program limitations showed up. After that final print, I only had to try saving a couple of times before the programs bugs re-appeared and the program crashed. Six weeks after I expected to have it done, I could finally mail it to my father who happens to be in a skilled nursing facility recovering from a fractured hip and surgery. It should not have been that hard.

I didnt know what to expect from Print Artist Platinum 25. Having upgraded to Win 8.1, my Print Shop 23 (which I love), did not work due to 8.1 not supporting Net Framework 1. I was disappointed and have been looking around for one to work with the newer operating system. This one does work well with 8.1, but does not have all the features and isnt as easy to work with as Print Shop 23. It contains hundreds of graphics, and yes, they are mostly online, but so was the Print Shops. They are easy to pull up. At least, I have been able to print greeting cards again. We cant put all the blame on the software developers, because they had good programs until Microsoft changed operating systems. If you are looking for a program like this to work on 8.1, this is the best I have found thusfar.

Program will print a card, but not share electronically. I cant get it to upload to YouTube or Facebook. An email version cuts off after about 4 seconds so the message is lost. Ill go back to my old program.

7/11/19 Ok product. Many of the templates are lame though. Im still working and learning the program but you really need to get stock photos or find a substitute graphic from elsewhere. You can only find a few good or even decent ones with Print Artist.

It not a user friendly program. It is difficulty to edit. and sometimes will not print like it suppose to. I would not recommend this product to anybody serious about creating printed work as it is not a friend. Worse buy I have every make for software.

I wouldnt have even given it a one star rating, but no choice. It crashes ALL THE TIME! I try to save something and it crashes, I make a document that I like and the next time I go back to it, it isnt the way I saved it! What is going on here?
