I didnt see may reviews using it for mold, but decided to give it a shot. My attic (flat roof, ave height 21 with 15 fiberglass batt insulation) had bad mold smell from some roof leaks. The smell infiltrated into my 3rd floor and ductwork. Mold remediators said they had to take several air samples costing $800 before theyd give me an estimate. The usual solution was to rip down sheetrock and insulation, likely even in walls, and maybe rip out carpet and discard furniture. They they would treat attic, walls, etc. using air cleaners, hazmat suits, etc. Ach!! I ran the generator for 3 hr in each of 4 places in the attic, raising above insulation (ozone is heavier than air so place generator high). After the first one, the air smelled normal. I ran in the other 3 attic spots and in all the rooms on the 3rd floor. I turned off the AC so it wouldnt infiltrate the house, until the final treatment (to get the ducts). Its been about 2 weeks and the attic still smells fresh. It seems like the ozone goes thru painted sheetrock and down framing to some extent, based on odor (it smells). I tried to be careful about breathing ozone and left the house when it smelled strong. I did have a scratchy throat afterwards. Im anxious to see if the mold was killed or if it grows back over time. Ill try to write an update in a month or so to say whether it did. The generator instructions dont say much about using it. I did a lot of research online to find out how. Ozone will kill mold if concentration is high enough for long enough. Ozone may damage plastic coating on wiring, plants, organic material like rubber (gaskets?) and oxidize metal. A corrosive expert told me he didnt think it would harm plastic flexduct. I dont see any damage on anything so far.

Im writing this post like 6 months later, but... anyway Im landlord and I bought this product because a person died in one of my apartments and he was there for a few days. Its an upstairs apartment it was in the summer it was hot he didnt have on the AC, the smell was beyond awful. I ran this product for like 3 hours and it didnt do the job. I believe I needed to had ran it for like 6-10 hours. I used it a second time in my house in a blocked off area (bathroom and 2 bedrooms) for 1 hour. Because of the ozone smell it left, I had to sleep on the couch for 3 days. I used a third time in a musty basement. I ran it for 10 minutes. It worked perfectly. So to sum it up. I basically used it wrong, but its a judgement call you have to make based on the strength of the smell you are trying to eliminate. If the smell is airborne it will destroy it. You can easily not run it long enough or run it too long. So I suggest you set it for small time limits and if the smell is not gone use it again. I also bought a Walmart timer to trigger when to turn it on and used fans to help move the air. You, pets and plants cant be around it, so dont.

Ok so I bought the Enerzen O-888 as a last effort to remove the cat spray odor from my basement. I had already cleaned every square inch of the vinyl flooring with enzymatic cleanser first-still smelled it, then pine soil-still smelled it, then alcohol & vinegar-still there, and then finally I used straight Chlorine bleach (scented version) and left it full strength and covered it with plastic bags and left it over night and then finally did a cursory one over mop to remove any residue. This actually worked to clear about 80% of the smell…but, since I have a sensitive nose and refuse to have to live in a home that smells like cat pee, 80% wasn’t enough. I felt like after a day or two with fluctuating humidity, the smell might just creep back into full swing. I remembered that one of my tenants smoked in one if our new rentals and I was not able to clear the smell with regular cleaning so I called a local company for help. They brought in an Ozone machine and left it running for 24 hours, afterwards, though there was a strong ozone odor, the cigarette smell was gone and stayed gone to this day. After a final mop and a fragrances plug in, it was ready to lease and I never got any complaints from the new tenants. That said…I found this machine and bought it based off customer reviews. A couple days ago I turned it on for 3 hours and then aired it out. After a bit, I could still faintly smell urine, so the next day I mopped the entire area again and left the machine on for 6 hours but did not air out the basement afterwards. I left the whole apartment sealed up through the night. This morning I went down…NO SMELL WHATSOEVER! Except the smell that ozone creates which id rather have than cat pee! I opened up the windows in all the rooms thinking that afterwards I’d probably smell the pee again, but it’s gone! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Yes, I did have to find and eliminate all the actual pee spots before using this machine, but once the source was removed, all that was left was the nasty smell in the air, fabrics, drywall, ac vents…etc..this machine took care of that. So don’t expect it to remove the odor of a pee puddle that has not been wiped up or pee in left unwashed from fabric, it’s not going to work that way. But it does work fabulously if you do your part of the pre-clean. Can’t wait to use it in my apartments after the tenants leave just so everything smells fresh and the remnants of the previous tenant’s spicy foods are not lingering in the air, ac ducts and fabrics! Yes! I definitely recommend!

I purchased the ‘high capacity’ version of the Enerzen air purifier, and it definitely lives up to its name. A little time goes a long way! I put this in a medium sized bedroom (about 10 foot by 15 foot) for about an hour and a half. Before I even opened the door to get the windows opened up, I could smell the scent of the ozone from the hallway. It almost smells like you literally bleached the air. It would not be a great idea to use this high capacity unit in a smaller home that couldn’t be ventilated properly, but oh my god does this thing work! It resets your rooms back to neutral so that you can use whatever fragrances you choose. I highly recommend this for musty old attics or bedrooms that don’t get used often. You could definitely set this to clean the air in your kitchen after cooking something with lingering odors, but do NOT use this around people or pets. This thing might also kill your plants, so I’d remove those as well. Buy this purifier, it’s the one you’re looking for if you want to BLEACH the air.

I LOVE THIS PRODUCT. LOVE IT.... My mom has alzheimers..... and we have to change diapers every night..... but we dont want to take out the trash every single day... so if the bathroom starts to smell a bit, I can just blast that thing in there for like 5-10 minutes, and dont have to take out the trash for another couple days. I cant know for sure, Ive fogged the entire house to make sure that we dont get mold, but I get so much more comfort knowing that once a month I can just blast the whole house with this thing and it takes out any funny smell out of the house, and I know that it kills mold. This is 1000% worth the price. I knew it would be and got a 4 (or maybe it was 3?) year warranty with it, because I knew I was going to use it a lot. This thing is a miracle in my opinion. You can literally run it in a room for ONE MINUTE and make the whole room smell fresh. I love it, and Im so thankful for it.

About a year and a half ago, I bought a very expensive Ozone Machine from Air Zone. That lasted about a year before the generator cells needed to be cleaned, which was quite a chore. Even after cleaning it didnt produce ozone nearly as well as when I first bought it. A couple of weeks ago I bought two of these small high-capacity generators. And Im very satisfied. Heres what you need to know: Buying two smaller generators is MUCH better than owning one large one. When I want to shock the entire house, I put one generator at each end of the house, set them for 3 hours and leave. If you have a specific spot youd like to shock, such as your bedroom; you can put one unit in there, close the door and treat the room while youre using the rest of the house. You can buy two of these for WAY less than youd pay for one premium unit. Granted, they dont come with a remote control like my Air Zone generator has. But frankly, who needs it? That remote sits in my bedroom drawer, I never use it. Buying two of these has turned out to be very practical. Each of these generators has one element (my Air Zone generator has two). Essentially, I have the same power as my Air Zone generator with a much greater flexibility of usage. Its too early for me to comment on upkeep (all ozone generators have elements that either need to be periodically cleaned or replaced). With the Enerzen, all you have to do is replace the elements. With my Air Zone, you have to take it apart and clean the elements (a lengthy process that doesnt really restore them to full capacity). Ive used ozone generators since 2001. I speak from experience. DONT buy a heavy-duty unit that sits in a centralized location in your home. Instead, buy two smaller Enerzen units that you can easily move around. To paraphrase a timeless expression: Two gens are better than one!

This product does exactly what it is supposed to do. We smoke in our 4 seasons room only... And we can run this machine and no more smoke odor.. Awesome!

I used the Enerzen ozone generator to clear my basement of the remnant odors of mice. Let it run for two days in a closed room. Ozone dissipates slowly when contained and quickly in a well ventilated area. When the air finally cleared, I noticed no scents of any kind. It killed the odors, killed the decorative gourds, killed the spiders and insects. This device works wonders. I will let it run for a day ever season to keep my basement fresh.

This does not appear to be a commercial grade product. Up to now, I have been very happy with this machine. I used it initially to mitigate mildew and mold after my house was flooded by a broken toilet. This device proved enormously helpful as I would run it for a few hours each day for 2 weeks. I have continued to use in in rebuilding 24 different flood vehicles Ive bought from the auction in conjunction with cleaning and disinfection, I run this in the car for an hour or two along with a larger fan to help circulate and to make sure any crevices have been saturated. Construction seemed simple and robust but the electronics in it are not. When the ceramic ozone board suddenly stopped working, I was very disappointed. I have not abused the machine or run it that much. When I stopped and tried to come up with an hour calculation for how long it had last I concluded it was somewhere between 100-130 hours before it stopped generating ozone. The circulation fan turns on when you activate the unit via the timer but the ceramic ozone generating board does not. Rather than purchase a new machine, I opted to replace the ceramic board and installed it with fresh thermal past to make sure it seated properly on the aluminum heat sink. Unfortunately, this did nothing to solve the problem or the replacement board itself was defective. I suspect the power supply for the board itself (white transformer) is shot but I am done throwing parts at this thing. Bottom line: this machine works well while it works but I would be wary of it lasting as long as the manufacturer claims it will. This does not appear to be a commercial grade product. I will probably look at other brands as I find an ozone machine incredibly useful when you need it.
