My boots are RedWing KingToe Waterproof boots. Do to the chemicals I work around, they are/were severely discolored. I am kinda miffed that the RedWing store didnt recommend a care package when I bought these. I did some research on conditioning and/or staining these to hide the stains and Obenaufs came up. I think my pictures speak a 1000 words. The slight staining is still there but they look a million times better. This is 2 coats. I also did the water test and it beads/rolls right off.

The odor is very light and pleasant, natural. I used it on our couch where the leather squeaks when rubbing against itself. This took care of the squeak for maybe a day. For the time it takes to rub this in, it isnt worth daily application to me. The dogs thought it smelled interesting, and I also dont want to encourage them to eat the couch anymore than they already try to do.

I purchased this to break in some new leather work boots. Soften the leather right up. My better 2/3rds got ahold of this stuff, now nothing made of leather is safe in this house. She used it on her bags, shoes, and leather coat. Its a great product, easy to apply, and does what it advertises.

This was recommended to me by a friend. Worked great on a couple of purses and then I cleaned up my Ugg winter boots. Everything looks amazing! Super easy to use.

My red wing Pecos boots were killing my feet. Put this on them on a Thursday. Cleaned them well then oven at 200 degrees. 2 min on each side. It used almost all 4 oz on my boots. Friday was still rough but the set all weekend and now (Monday) they finally feel amazing! Great product

I had several older purses I was selling & they needed some serious TLC. I applied this & was truly flabbergasted by the results-they looked INCREDIBLE! By far, this is the best leather conditioner I have ever used! As a reseller who often has to “rehab” leather goods, this stuff has a permanent place in my business! As you can see in my photo, the before & after on this pair of Ariat boots was impressive. Don’t hesitate to purchase this, your leather jacket, boots, couch, etc etc will thank you!

Used this on a dry and wrinkled holster. All the wrinkles and dryness disappeared. Used 2 coats rubbed in very well 10 minutes apart after warming holster on heater vent for 10 minutes. Very happy with this product.

I used this on my leather work gloves. I work in the rain a lot, and before applying this to my gloves, they would soak in the water and my hands would freeze. This product helped keep my hands dry.

First, the bottle was chipped at the bottom, but it does go on easy, goes a long way, makes the leather look and feel soft, not at all shiny or fake.

Obenauf’s Heavy Duty LP

Industrial strength leather preservative (lp) was originally developed for protecting and waterproofing firefighters leather work boots. Heavy Duty LP is a leather conditioner made with our natural oil and beeswax formula. This unique Beeswax/Propolis Suspension Formula protects leather against caustic fire retardant chemicals, heat, water, and abrasion. Natural oils in Heavy Duty LP are gradually released into the fibers as a long term lubrication. Heat and flexing cause oils to be released, oiling the leather when it needs it most, making this an excellent leather boot conditioner. Before application, a spot test is recommended because Heavy Duty LP will darken your leather and nubuck. Not recommended for Suede. Made in the USA.

Apply Heavy Duty LP to your:

  • Leather Work Boots
  • Saddle Bags and Chaps
  • Belts
  • Holsters
  • Sheathes
  • Baseball Gloves
  • And more!

Originally Developed for Firefighters

Heavy Duty LP

Over 30 years ago, an Idaho Wildland Firefighter developed this unique Beeswax/Propolis Suspension Formula to protect leather against caustic fire retardant chemicals, ash, heat, water, and abrasion. Natural oils are gradually released into the fibers as a long-term lubrication. Heat or continued flexing causes oils to be released faster. Leather gets oiled when and where it needs it most; while on the job!

Recommended Application

At room temperature, apply by hand as body temperature helps melt LP into leather. Two applications last longer in wet conditions. For absorption, allow ten minutes or up to one hour between treatments. On smooth leather, buff off excess with a clean cloth. On nubuck, use a soft bristled brush. One ounce should provide one application to a pair of tall boots. Apply every 6 to 8 weeks or as needed.

Extensive Lab and Field Testing Compared Obenauf"s Against Other Products. Rated Superior and Proven to Resist:

  • Dynamic and Static Water Penetration
  • Scuffing and Abrasion
  • Manure Acid, Salt, Chemicals
  • Premature Cracking and Parching Due to Heat
  • Stitch Tear and Dry Rot
  • Perspiration
