Greater than one weekMy boots are RedWing KingToe Waterproof boots. Do to the chemicals I work around, they are/were severely discolored. I am kinda miffed that the RedWing store didnt recommend a care package when I bought these. I did some research on conditioning and/or staining these to hide the stains and Obenaufs came up. I think my pictures speak a 1000 words. The slight staining is still there but they look a million times better. This is 2 coats. I also did the water test and it beads/rolls right off.

05-06-2025I followed the instructions and did two applications and my 10+ year-old Zamberlan 996s look great. I did not expect this product to do anything with the scuffing on the toes but to my amazement it did. Really a welcome surprise! Love that you can apply this by hand -literally with your bare hands-and get a nice refresh look to boots and other leather stuff. The Zambies are basically waterproof forever, at least in my experience of 25 years of Zamberlan ownership, so I have no idea if they help with that or not. Its not very often that a product not only lives up to the rep but manages to surpass and deliver beyond expectations. A very solid recommendation on this product!

> 3 dayThe owner is particular about the types of ingredients going into this conditioner, keeping out less expensive components that are in most other conditioner because they actually degrade leather over time. I cant say its easy to use, but that is the nature of wax. You have to work it in with your fingers. It takes time and its messy, but can get 6 months hard use before needing more, a year or two if under normal wear.

Greater than one weekThis is some of the best beeswax type treatment on the market. It is super easy to put on and lasts a long time. Makes leather supple and waterproof. I use it on wooden handles as well, helps seal them and gives them a rich darker wooden color.

Greater than one weekThe product is easy to apply and brought my boots back to life. Would have given 5 stars but the top of the jar was broken when the product arrived (must have been broken before being packaged because the broken piece was not in the box). I hope the product does not dry out before I use it all.

> 3 dayI was a little skeptical about this stuff when I first heard of it. Sno-seal seemed to be the choice of most winter professions. However, I gave it a shot, and I’m blown away. I will admit, I use sno-seal AFTER I’ve applied this stuff, but this stuff goes deeper into the leather. After getting familiar with this product on my Kinco mittens, I put some on my Timberlands. The preppy New York boys might tell you that ‘YouRe NoT sUppOseD tO dO thAt to tImbS’ but... I wasn’t about to leave my $150 leather boots untreated. It did make them darker (which I actually really enjoy) but you can just SEE how much more supple the leather gets. It truly does a great job of protecting the leather from drying out, cracking, and obviously it makes the leather much more water resistant. Still not quite waterPROOF, hence the sno seal, but sno seal doesn’t soak into leather the way this stuff does. One coworker of mine got the exact same mittens at the same time as me, but he left his untreated. I put at least 3 coats of obenaufs on mine before applying sno seal. His mittens are falling apart, while mine could easily handle another full season of work. Maybe I can add pictures in the future.

Greater than one weekI found out the hard way decades ago that using any sort of oils from animals for boots is just a smorgasbord for mold that destroys boots. Have been a snoseal man for years. Putting boots in an oven is handy, but stupid unless you can keep the temps under 110...which is a reasonable high temp that a boot might see. There are lots of glues in the new boots that are gonna degrade in that heat. Snoseal had a higher melting point than Obenaufs...which is why the hair dryer is necessary. I got some new Danner work boots. They soaked up 4 coats of Obenaufs. And because Obenaufs melts in your hand, its also gonna melt into the boot every time you wear them. There was a very noticible change is the pliability of the leather. I also put a coat on a pair of 3 year old Limmer mid weight hiking boots with 500+ GPS miles on them...only one coat...but these had been snolealed (these are old school boots...no gore Tex booties)

> 3 dayI like the product but it is hard to use without heating to melt the heavy paste. Also the paste does not dissolve into the boot threads very easily. I am sure it darkens the leather and waterproofs the boots. All in all it is a good product to protect your expensive boots from the elements of outdoors.

> 3 dayThe odor is very light and pleasant, natural. I used it on our couch where the leather squeaks when rubbing against itself. This took care of the squeak for maybe a day. For the time it takes to rub this in, it isnt worth daily application to me. The dogs thought it smelled interesting, and I also dont want to encourage them to eat the couch anymore than they already try to do.
