Greater than one weekI use this on a pair of boots I wear every day in all weather. It protects and conditions them amazingly. I scooped some into a jar for a friend with worse-for-wear leather flats: not like new, but definitely much improved. My husband uses it on his leather bike-seat, keeps it in good shape. Quality product, pleasant to use. (Old socks worn like mittens works well for applying).

Greater than one weekDesigned to keep wild fire fighters boots clean and leather healthy in an environment of dirt, mud, water and ash, this leather preservative is something I use on every leather shoe I own that is not a dress shoe. It will restore old boots and shoes if they are nt too far gone. I know people who use it on saddles, leather furniture, etc. It penetrates the leather and will likely darken it, so be prepared for that, but it keep leather nice for much longer with much less fuss than anything else Ive ever used. Best way to apply is to rub in with finger tips. Heat of hands softens it and helps it to penetrate. If you dont mind the color change and want the best outdoor protection for shoes and boots its worth a try.

04-06-2025I use heavy rough-out leather work gloves that get dirty. Periodically, I need to wash the gloves the clean the grime off of them. But when the gloves dry, they get extremely hard and difficult to wear. I applied this balm to the hardened gloves, rubbed it in for a couple of minutes and let the gloves sit over night. The next day, they were soft and very comfortable to wear again. For my work gloves, that was all I was hoping for. But it was evident the gloves went from light gray to a much darker gray. Again, for me, these are gloves intended to work in dirty environments so darkening is of no concern. But if you have nicely made dress gloves, be aware this may darken the glove. Not sure how you can test a dress glove without committing it potential discoloration. But this will condition and soften the leather.

> 3 dayAnd this stuff is AWESOME! Ive been using Dr. Jacksons Hide Rejuvenator for several years on my leather projects. I saw this product while shopping for more and thought Id give it a try. Doc Js is a creamy paste, where this is more of a balm. Doc Js doesnt go one evenly because its a cream. This stuff is like a solid balm that melts as your warm hand (even gloved with nitrile) sweeps the top to collect onto your fingertips....like...think of chapstick that as you touch it, turns to the consistency of baby oil. At first I thought I was going to go through this faster than the Doc Js but thats NOT been the case, even making multiple applications with it. I dont yet know the long-term characteristics of this stuff, we shall see. As of right now, Im VERY impressed with it. Will update at a later date.

> 3 dayI was a little skeptical about this stuff when I first heard of it. Sno-seal seemed to be the choice of most winter professions. However, I gave it a shot, and I’m blown away. I will admit, I use sno-seal AFTER I’ve applied this stuff, but this stuff goes deeper into the leather. After getting familiar with this product on my Kinco mittens, I put some on my Timberlands. The preppy New York boys might tell you that ‘YouRe NoT sUppOseD tO dO thAt to tImbS’ but... I wasn’t about to leave my $150 leather boots untreated. It did make them darker (which I actually really enjoy) but you can just SEE how much more supple the leather gets. It truly does a great job of protecting the leather from drying out, cracking, and obviously it makes the leather much more water resistant. Still not quite waterPROOF, hence the sno seal, but sno seal doesn’t soak into leather the way this stuff does. One coworker of mine got the exact same mittens at the same time as me, but he left his untreated. I put at least 3 coats of obenaufs on mine before applying sno seal. His mittens are falling apart, while mine could easily handle another full season of work. Maybe I can add pictures in the future.

> 3 dayMy red wing Pecos boots were killing my feet. Put this on them on a Thursday. Cleaned them well then oven at 200 degrees. 2 min on each side. It used almost all 4 oz on my boots. Friday was still rough but the set all weekend and now (Monday) they finally feel amazing! Great product

> 3 dayI just placed my second order for this boot conditioner. Over the year and a half Ive used the product, Ive had excellent results. My boots show no evidence of cracking, wear, etc., and I wear them every day and hike in them in rural NC. Its best applied (generously) with your hands. The heat from your hands helps it to soak into the leather, then just wipe off the excess (from the boots and your hands). Ive got 73 year old hands, and the stuff makes my hands look better too...really. Not going to try it on my face, though...
