I love this leather proofing wax! Ive used it for years on all my boots. I smear it on with my fingers, take a hair dryer to it and wala, leather boots are protected.

I am a repeat customer. I use this product on my work boots and leather gloves. Adds to the life of these items and makes them more comfortable to use.

I have been using this product for year on all my leather goods that touch real weather outside, such as rain and snow and dirt and what not. Easy to apply if you follow the instructions, multiple applications is the best way. Depending on how you use your leather products will depend on how long your application of this product will last. The more use out of them, like boots, the more often you will need to apply. For me and my world, my boots will get this at least twice a year. Gloves that get used more often, definitely get more applications. It is easy enough. Crank your oven to 250 or so, put your leather product in there, be careful if it has other non-leather pieces on it. Let the item sit to heat up, pull it out carefully and apply as much of the product that the leather will absorb. I personally place it back in the oven again (multiple times if need be), to heat it again and keep applying, until it looks and feels like it will not absorb any more. Great stuff.

This stuff is amazing and I will be buying again. Used another leather conditioner and it hardly changed the color of the try leather. I could instantly tell a difference and I little goes a long way!

It does darken the leather a little bit. The darker shoe in each picture is the one that was treated. The excess turns white after it dries and i used a soft toothbrush to remove it. It would be nice if they listed the ingredients. Guess its a secret shhhh.

I am 72 years old and have discovered the best leather treatment there is. I use it on everything leather, from jackets & gloves to my custom made bull whips. I even use it on my dry and cracking feet once in a while. I am a retired pharmacist and I could, if I wanted to, make my own leather treatment (I did in college). I dont bother because HP heavy leather protection is easy to buyand it has everything in it that I would put in. (caution: never use neets field lotion, it will rott your leather)

Obenauf’s Heavy Duty LP

Industrial strength leather preservative (lp) was originally developed for protecting and waterproofing firefighters leather work boots. Heavy Duty LP is a leather conditioner made with our natural oil and beeswax formula. This unique Beeswax/Propolis Suspension Formula protects leather against caustic fire retardant chemicals, heat, water, and abrasion. Natural oils in Heavy Duty LP are gradually released into the fibers as a long term lubrication. Heat and flexing cause oils to be released, oiling the leather when it needs it most, making this an excellent leather boot conditioner. Before application, a spot test is recommended because Heavy Duty LP will darken your leather and nubuck. Not recommended for Suede. Made in the USA.

Apply Heavy Duty LP to your:

  • Leather Work Boots
  • Saddle Bags and Chaps
  • Belts
  • Holsters
  • Sheathes
  • Baseball Gloves
  • And more!

Originally Developed for Firefighters

Heavy Duty LP

Over 30 years ago, an Idaho Wildland Firefighter developed this unique Beeswax/Propolis Suspension Formula to protect leather against caustic fire retardant chemicals, ash, heat, water, and abrasion. Natural oils are gradually released into the fibers as a long-term lubrication. Heat or continued flexing causes oils to be released faster. Leather gets oiled when and where it needs it most; while on the job!

Recommended Application

At room temperature, apply by hand as body temperature helps melt LP into leather. Two applications last longer in wet conditions. For absorption, allow ten minutes or up to one hour between treatments. On smooth leather, buff off excess with a clean cloth. On nubuck, use a soft bristled brush. One ounce should provide one application to a pair of tall boots. Apply every 6 to 8 weeks or as needed.

Extensive Lab and Field Testing Compared Obenauf"s Against Other Products. Rated Superior and Proven to Resist:

  • Dynamic and Static Water Penetration
  • Scuffing and Abrasion
  • Manure Acid, Salt, Chemicals
  • Premature Cracking and Parching Due to Heat
  • Stitch Tear and Dry Rot
  • Perspiration
