I was given one of these ten years ago and misplaced it. Had to have another. They are solidly made and reliable, much better than the plastic ones. I am buying yet another for a friend who is a plastic CNC fabricator.

I do a lot of hand trimming & this is the best I’ve owned. I purchased this 2nd one for my auxiliary work table. I bought some other plastic cased olfa blade & it’s just not strong enough to apply the pressure one needs to exert to make a clean trim.

I love pruducts that are at once totally utilitarian and free of decoration as well as beautifully designed. This is a sublimely functional product that is a delight to use. Why all the superlatives? Because such well-designed and engineered products are rare—especially at a $9 price point. The stainless steel chassis has a gorgeous finish and feels light and elegant, but also totally solid. The butt cap which you can use to snap off used sections of blade works wonderfully and fits perfectly with no wiggle or play, and the blade mechanism is tactile and satisfying to use. I use it with the BBK05 refill blades, whose black surface finish contrasts terrificly with the brushed stainless steel. I am so very happy with this Olfa blade. Along with my other Olfa tools (especially the rotary cutters!), this blade is a joy to use. You’re going to be very pleased with this knife!

I love these cutters - simple, strong, last for years, even decades. Careful - blades are super sharp! Like Mom said - always cut away from yourself. The automatic answer for opening all sorts of packaging including evil blister packs.

Olfa knives are very handy. This is no exception. Very nice

These are really sleek and minimal, they do their job with no issues and I have bought several to keep around the workplace/home. I will mention that I have received two different designs. The first few had mechanism that locked the blade unless you were actively sliding the blade in or out, the newer ones just rely on a passive spring. I wont say its an issue, because you shouldnt be stabbing with a thin razor, but its worth pointing out. Either way the product works fine and the spring has enough force to hold the blade where you put it.
