Greater than one weekI bought this as I was looking for a solution for outdoor lighting in my garden. I decided to use this product with an outdoor power strip to power a group of LED lights. I connected this with my SmartThings hub without incident, and it has remained on the network reliably ever since. Control through both SmartThings and Alexa (by way of SmartThings) is flawless. It hasnt been through the worst rain Seattle has to offer yet, but so far so good. I bought the Z-wave solution because the range should be superior to WiFi. I havent tested this beyond 10 or so meters yet, but so far, so good.

18-11-2024I have a lot of z-wave devices on SmartThings as a reference and this device has the worst lag and z-wave reception range out of everything Ive seen! Whats more is that this is a powered device so there is no excuse for this poor z-wave reception quality. I have a battery powered Ecolink water leak sensor right beside it which can easily communicate directly to the hub with no lag but I had to install an outdoor z-wave repeater just for this switch. Even with the z-wave repeater, the lag between the on/off switching is incredibly long and I wouldnt use it for anything but occasional switching. You have to wait sometimes for 20-30 seconds for the device to respond to the switch request. The plug should have been 90 degrees instead of straight. The weight of the device tends to unplug it from the outlet. There is some really poor engineering in here. Otherwise yes it does work and it is weatherproof to a certain extent.

> 3 dayI have purchased two of these in the last month and both failed after a single rain. I suppose this is my fault for positioning this outdoor outlet in a flat position under a canopy. We have had some serious rain the last couple weeks and when the rain let up, my outlet was no longer working either time. Disconnecting the outlet and taking it inside each time allowed standing water to pour out. In both cases, the outlet never worked again. Getting it setup initially was great. I used mine with my SmartThings. It found it quickly, both outlets were easy to configure. I got it working through Alexa very easily as well (maybe thanks to SmartThings?). My expectation was that this device would keep the water out on its own because it was labelled outdoor and IP65. That was an incorrect assumption on my part. IP65 means dustproof and protected against water projected from a nozzle. If I were to spend another $40 on this device, I would disassemble the device and spray the board with Corrosion-X or something similar and then wrap the outlet in plastic.

18-11-2024Compared to other smart devices, this one is a bit difficult to set up. Granted that it may be due to my cumbersome hub the Wink. I bought two of these and could never get the second one to connect. Returned it. The one I kept has worked without fail for about a month now, it was just difficult to connect.

> 3 dayI found this switch very unreliable. It frequently does not turn off or on with automation or commands, unlike the 200+ Z-Wave devices in my home.

20-11-2024***** October 2020 (10 month update) ****** This product is still working great. I have not noticed it missing any commands or suffering any degradation. I have mine completely exposed to the elements, plugged into an outdoor outlet and mounted on a fence. It appears as new as the day it was installed. I continue to be more than satisfied given that this provides two outlets and ZWave at a great price. ****** February 2020 ***** My original review is below. The vendor (EvaLogik) did update the device handler for this product and it now works as expected. I am able to control the two outlets as separate items inside the SmartThings application. I appreciate that they provided quick and accurate responses to my questions and followed through with the promised update. I am using this to turn on a set of outdoor lights and an outdoor fountain on different schedules and when triggered from a motion detector. I wanted two outlets so I can turn the lights on after dark but turn the fountain on at all times of day. I am happy with the way this now working. I will update the review with additional info as the product ages. ****** Original Review ****** Im a SmartThings user and prefer to add Z-Wave devices to my network instead of the more common WiFi only devices. The EVA-LOGIK two outlet, outdoor plug looked like a great alternative to the GE Z-Wave single outlet device (https://www.amazon.com/GE-Weather-Resistant-Required-Works-SmartThings-14284/dp/B06W9NWFM3) that I also own. Unfortunately I cannot get more than one outlet to show up in SmartThings when I install the device. I have added and removed the device multiple times without luck. SmartThings does list two EVA LOGIK device handlers (one for Single Outlet and one for Dual Outlet) but installing either results in just a single outlet being controllable. I will say that packaging, build quality and installation were all great. I have no complaints about the product other than the fact that it doesnt do the one thing that makes it special. I am able to control a single outlet and the response time is fast. The range seems to be about average for Z-Wave which works for me. I did contact the seller and they responded that they will be able to solve this problem in the next couple weeks. I will update my review if they come through with a fix. For now I cannot recommend this product.

> 3 day* UPDATE 12/6/2022 * My issue appears to be a lack of support with Alarm.com, and thus how it appears to Alexa. According to manufacturer, Alarm.com doesnt support dual-outlet devices. EVA Logik was very responsive when I reached out, so I am adding a star back to the rating. Product works as advertised, with one small but significant quirk. After adding to my Z-Wave hub (Qolsys iqPanel) the switch shows up as one device with two lights (device id.1 and device id.2). Unfortunately, when connected through Alarm.com and the Alexa skill only one device appears. I can’t differentiate between the first and second outlet and I can only control one outlet. I can still see both outlets on the Qolsys, but that’s of some limited utility if I want to use Alexa to make a routine (to turn on my outside Christmas lights, for example) that involves both outlets.

19-11-2024I have Smartthings and close to 40 z-wave/zigbee devices. These were my favorites. They withstood harsh conditions in a security situation BUT, after a year and a half, I needed to change my network settings (never do that if you can avoid it) and spent a weekend excluding, removing, and reinstalling them all. I was able to do all them, except my 2 Eva Logiks. Factory resetting doesnt work like in the instructions, youtubes are in Chinese and product support is minimal. If they are even able to be reset, until I can get some product support, they are just expensive paper weights.

> 3 dayI have a pond fountain and accent lighting that I need to add to my automation. This duplex was Ideal to allow me to still have an available outlet outside for other uses. My Automation is ADT Pulse and it added and worked perfectly. (I was not sure that it would work with ADT, but I was pleasantly surprised)
