    Greater than one week

Did the job to hook up a nearly 20 year old Dell keyboard to a 3 year old Dell laptop that had a section of its keyboard quit. Plugged into laptop first, allowed it to be recognized, then plugged in keyboard and worked right away.

I bought this adapter to use with my old IBM Model M keyboard. I had heard that these keyboards can be finicky with which adapters they do and dont work with so I was a little nervous it wasnt going to work. I am happy to say though, that it works fine. I will update this review if anything changes.

It came quickly and no issues. It works very well. Its keeping that old HP keyboard in the game and typing so happy it does what its made for. Quality appears good. Dont expect any wearing out of it. So should last as long as I want to use this keyboard at least. Try it you will like it.

I am pretty satisfied with this adapter. I already have an adapter that sees regular use, but needed another one to increase my options. With this adapter, I can have two computers working at the same time. With this adapter, I can use my favorite old keyboard and/or mouse and swap them out on the go without restarting the computer. This adapter wont get everyday use, but is very handy when more options are needed to accomplish a goal. The price is reasonable and the adapter is rugged enough to last for years and years.

Holding a single key down (like W for gaming) results in the stream of key signals being terminated eventually. Typing or programming this works great. Tested with Lexmark IBM Model M.

I have been using old PS/2 keyboards for years, since the ones I have are superior to the cheap things available now. I was using an Inland PS/2 USB connector (with a separate connector for a PS/2 mouse) which suddenly died on me. I have just installed the Peripro-401 on two keyboards, and both function fine. One is an old HP keyboard; the other, an IBM keyclick aristocrat which is so old it doesnt have the Microsoft keys next to the space bar.

Compatible with the following keyboards: Unicomp Model M (2004) and Maxi Switch Model M13 Part Number 13H6705 (1996). All keys are detected with this PERIPRO-401 B PS/2 Keyboard/Mouse to USB Converter Adapter.

I have an old PS2 keyboard that I refuse to retire but an upgraded laptop / docking station at work no longer supported PS2. This worked perfectly, plug & play. Ive had an adapter like this before and this one seems more solidly built. I do a lot of Alt- and Ctrl- keyboard shortcuts and I havent experienced the problem mentioned in other reviews around simultaneous keypresses. I dont game with this, though, and that sounded like when the problem was most likely to occur. But my experience with this has been identical to when I had a native PS2 port.

I have an old IBM style keyboard with loud keys from the early 90s that I successfully hooked up to a new laptop using this cable. I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised that it worked with no issues. I havent dug up an old PS/2 mouse yet, but Ill have to try that at some point.
