If you take the time to program this is works great. You really just need to test it to see what the portion size is. A portion size is small, so I usually do 2 portion 4 times a day for a normal sized cat. I wanted to use it for an outdoor cat when I went on a trip, but during the test if it, some raccoons got it and dragged it all the way around my house. Even though it did not work outdoors, it was raccoon proof. They tried their best to get into it but could not! It was just around back and unplugged. It did keep the setting though, so I did not have to totally reprogram it after plugging it back in.

I got this because once a week I take my son to go visit and stay with my parents who live an hour away and I wanted to make sure my furbaby is taken care of. So far so good. I’ve had it for about a week now and use it as his daily feeder. I have it set to feed once in the morning and once in the evening. 4 portions = to about a 1/3 cup which is what he gets twice a day. It seems consistent. I didn’t bother with the voice call option. It’s not necessary for us. He can hear when the food hits his bowl just fine. Was really easy to program but kind of annoying at the same time but not enough to remove any stars. I definitely recommend it.

The programming could be a little easier/more convenient, but this product has bought me hours of uninterrupted sleep in the mornings. The cats now wait till they hear the food drop around 5:30AM and it’s magical

This feeder is amazing. You can pick feeding times and portions for each food time. It gives my cat snacks and meals so thats helpful. Our cat knows all food comes from the feeder so he doesnt attack us at mealtime. If we work late or leave early we dont worry about the cat getting fed. Obviously with all those time and amount options it takes a little effort to program but its not difficult. Its like programming sprinklers or lights. It has a battery backup thankfully so you wont lose your programming if power goes out. Ours goes out often and it happened once when we were out of town. Kitty didnt miss a meal.

In conjunction with a petcam and water fountain it works and gives me so much peace of mind. I just moved into a new apt and dont really know my neighbors yet, but I had to go out of town for 1 night/day and needed to make sure my pets got fed. My buns eat Oxbow Garden Select which are about 2 mm in length. I wouldnt use this every day forever as I prefer to scatter feed. I think when I do use it, Ill be using it 1 reservoir at a time. But I could totally see how easy it could be for someone to get use to this. I was worried that if my buns didnt associate me with food our bond could weaken, lol. But it hasnt in the slightest. They actually seem to be really enjoying the consistency. I know they cant tell time in the first place, but one less thing for m to worry about means more tim for me to cuddle with them haha. P.s. Im also going to try with Sherwood and Science Selectives and update later :) If you have buns like if this was helpful. We need to be more vocal about what is out there and what products work otherwise its slim pickings and misinformation city.

I like this automatic feeder a lot. It looks sleek and is easy to use once you go through the directions. It’s fairly quite, holds a decent amount of food, and it’s easy to clean the outer bowls. It’s a little clunkier to clean the whole machine, but the cord unplugs from the back so you don’t have to worry about a cord dangling when trying to wash it. I use this for my one cat and have had no issues so far. My cat gets a 1/2 cup a day and, with the size of her food (Hills Science Diet), that equals out to 4 portions. Definitely recommend playing around with it and measuring portions for your pet’s food specifically, but it’s not hard to do.

Perfect to allow both cats to eat at the same exact time x 5 small meals in a 24 hour period. One cat is our food gobbler and the other is a pushover so she got her food swiped all the time. Too much of a pain to remember feeding times for tiny feedings without the auto feeders. Problem solved! The reason for 4 stars is that they are tricky to set especially us trying to sync them to drop food at the exact same time and voice recorder is garbled so it sounds like a demon is calling our cats, lol

This food dispenser is great. It’s relatively easy to program. Our cat throws up if she eats too much, so with this we feed her a smaller amount more times per day. She knows when it’s programmed to feed her, so she is waiting when it dispenses. It’s very cute. Also, she is overweight, so this helps us monitor her food intake.

Great concept and we continue to use. A bit cumbersome to program. If it were one-and-done, that would be okay. But the clock gains five minutes every week or so, and when you reset the clock, you have to reprogram all the feedings. Ugh. While you can double or triple the portion size, you can’t reduce it, so if you want kitty to have a “light snack” sometime, you’re out of luck. But overall, we’re glad to have the scheduled feedings and trust they happen while we’re gone.

Great overall with the exception of the non existent volume of the recording you make. No matter how loudly and clearly you speak, the recording is too quiet and not clear.
