Gifted this to my son in law and after a year of using these bulbs he still loves them. Everyone who visits for dinner is always impressed with the lighting. Music and movies are enhanced with a light show!

Philips Hue seemed like the best option so I didnt mind the high price, but after using them for 3 months Im a little disappointed. 800 lumens is not enough light in most rooms. I have 3 in my living room and its still noticeably dim. The hub is a little annoying to work with plus the pc software for setting up custom routines is downright broken. Im really regretting not getting the Lifx. Buyer beware.

Takes time to set up but worth it

I cannot add everything I use it for because I need to be able to sleep tonight! However, to name a few: Appointments, reminders of all kinds, timer, wake up alarm, turning my lights off and on as well as dimming and brightening them (all with my voice), calling peoples phones and talking to them, she tells me when packages are delivered to my door, etc., etc. She is fantastic! Tonight, my daughter ordered me a new Gen 3 Echo Dot with a plugin for turning on lamps, etc. I will now have two (I call them my maids) lol I told one my daughters tonight that I couldnt imagine having to live w/o her - now I will have two maids! Try it, you will love it!

Great product, I love to play with the colors and combinations of colors together, super easy to set up also. Just wish they where not so expensive, but if they last as long as they say they will, it is well worth it. I wish that there was an easier way to sync them to my tv to change while I’m watching a movie. So far I found a few apps that work for a few movies. The seller has great customer service only down side is philips charges so much for them.

I would definitely recommend this to an enemy. Integration is difficult. The apps don’t work. The recommended pc app doesn’t even see the bridge. The hue app is very basic and it loses connection with the bulbs easily. If you turn off the lightswitch then turn it back on again, the bulbs do not return to the “Scene” you’ve set them up and they turn on like a regular white bulb. The hue entertainment app doesn’t work. Third party apps are full of bugs. Plus, why would I need to pay for apps when I just paid $50 per bulb? It should be communicated by philips. If you need it to work with the entertainment app, you’ll spend an hour a bulb updating the software and they still wont work. Returned after 12 hours of stressful use. The hub, by the way, has to be connected, wired, to a router and to a transformer. 1998 called and they want their technology back.

These are really neat. They will get even better when companies start supporting syncing your entertainment to your lights.
