> 24 hourI had the original Sapphire and Emerald when they first came out--Emerald was my favorite game in the Pokemon series until X and Y, so I was a bit nervous to hear they were re-releasing that it was going to be like Leaf Green--new Pokemon but not much new content. NO. WAY. Theres SO much to do, the storyline is a bit different, and I still havent finished even weeks later. SOOOO GOOD. Am probably going to go back and buy ORuby because Im greedy for more. <3

> 24 hourAbsolutely my favorite Gen. in the series. Hoenn is unlike any other region to date, there is nothing like it as well. The memories came rolling in as soon as the soundtrack tuned! This one scores huge nostalgia points with me as I was only 10 when RS hit America. I went for Ruby the first time around (which I paid for with hard earned house work cash - pretty good for a 10-year-old) so I decide to go with Alpha Sapphire. Gen 3 wasnt my first go in the series. I started watching the Anime in 1997, and first played Pokemon Gold 2001on a lime green Gameboy Color (which I also earned money for!!). Hoenn holds a dear spot in my memories and Heart (Heart Gold... Pun lol!). I would most certainly recommend this to old fans and newcomers alike. Also, those of you who started after the Third Gen. or simply think you are too old, well... think again. Nobody is to old for Mons. Do yourself a solid and pick up a copy. I still havent progressed very far past the second gym due to the awesome new features; the DexNav to be specific. So many awesome new feature -- no Battle Frontier, however. Pick up one of these titles for sure. If you have doubts then put them aside. Hope you all enjoy as much as I do.

> 24 hourI havent played a Pokemon title since Pokemon Yellow so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but this game is AWESOME so far. Literally everything I wanted Pokemon to look like when I was a kid. I never played Sapphire, so the whole game is new to me. It has so many familiar kinks from generation 1, but has improved in so many ways. For people that played X and Y, you know what to expect. My only gripes with the series is that its hard to Catch Them All when your inventory is stuck at 6. I understand they only want you to have 6 available pokemon when out in battle, and once you can Fly it becomes much easier, but Id like to a see an on-the-fly inventory storing system thats NOT worse than Borderlands 2 so I can actually collect more at a time when Im out and about. Also, no difficulty settings. I like to slow-pace myself through games, and I have to keep myself from over-leveling too many of my pokemon. Overall, 9.5/10.

> 24 hourIve been a longtime fan of the pokemon games. I was very eager for this remake and when I enjoyed it a lot I was a little let down by some factors involving this game. The customizable fashion option found in X and Y was missing. Theres not many new things in this remake to make it stand out and made more memorable. Battling against trainers, gym leaders and the villain teams is too easy, especially if the exp. share is turned on to distribute exp. points to the whole team to level them up faster. Those battles against the supposedly tough gym leaders and the villainous teams disappointed me. But on the plus side, the graphics is stunning, the atmosphere of this world is breathtaking You should see the sunken ship in there! One of the neatest things to admire in comparison to the original RSE games. I liked the 3D introduction of each gym leaders you encounter, you get to see more of their personality in 3D than you do the expressionless pixels of them in RSE. Theres just so many things I could go on about this game but I think Ill stop it right here. I would recommend this to pokemon fans but must warn that those who played the original RSE may face some disappointments with this remake, but that shouldnt stop it from being enjoyable. Happy gaming!

> 24 hourBy far one of my most favorite Pokemon games ever. Having played the original R/S/E I was able to compare the differences in aging, and I have to say, this is one superb game. It runs circles around XY and is a joy to play. The region is well developed, and despite what certain websites would say, there is not too much water. My only complaint is that this game is a little lacking in some of the areas Emerald expanded on, such as the battle frontier.

> 24 hourAs an avid fan of Pokemon and remembering fondly of the original Ruby and Sapphire versions, I was fairly excited about the remakes. Let me just say, I was not disappointed. Of course the graphics are gorgeous and all the sprites remade, but the real difference is the game play. There is much more interaction between the player and other characters, such as Brendan/May and Steven which is different from the originals, but still feels natural. There is also bonus content, even at the end of the game, and the communication system between players is easy to use and figure out. In some areas the music sounds completely new (or its just flat out a brand new area) but in others its the old music remade and with more trumpets blaring. Its all of the originals remade into something still refreshing and new but extremely nostalgic. I should also mention however that there is NO character customization which is a little sad considering how great it was in X and Y. Besides that however, theres not much else that is a big downfall. I wasnt unsatisfied with this game, and I highly recommend it whether youre an old player debating on the remake, a new player without an idea about Hoenn, or just a parent trying to figure out what their kid wants for their birthday.

> 24 hourI cant really give it a bad rating because the game was shipped in perfect condition, and its a pokemon game so most people already know how those run. It was my second purchase of Alpha though but that was no ones fault but my own (I lost my original cartridge). Though now that I own a 3ds instead of the 2ds, this game does not have as much 3d effect on the console as I thought there would be. I usually play it with 3d off to save battery because it only really utilizes the function on cut scenes and battle scenes.

> 24 hourgame is a 5 star the 3 star review is because the version I purchased was the US/Canada one but they sent me the U.A.E./Saudi Arabia/Malaysia/Singapore version this will work in the US/Canada but is not the same or worth the same amount.

> 24 hourIn the aftermath of X and Y, which were staggeringly wonderful, with a dynamic PokeDex, dynamic new animation, the gloriously empowered Exp. Share and dozens of other impressive features, AS and OR were somewhat of a letdown. The game itself is a little different than it was back in Generation III, but only in ways that were redundant with X and Y. The new Mega Evolutions were wonderful, but are not available until much later in the game than in X and Y. With the Exp. Share upgraded, a game where you previously had to struggle to get a full party above level 45 you can now end up with six Pokemon in their 80s. Unfortunately, the levels of the opponents Pokemon remained the same, turning a game that was an enjoyable challenge into an unfortunate breeze. With the Battle Maison returning from X and Y, we lose the one thing that made Third Gen (or Emerald Version, at least) so enjoyable, namely an immensely diverse and challenging Battle Frontier. There are some awesome new features like the ability to find rare Pokemon and keep track of what youve caught off of each route using the Trainers Eye, but more or less, this game was a disappointment. If given a choice between playing this again or playing Emerald, Id pick Emerald again in a heartbeat. And that says nothing in comparison to X and Y.
