Pokémon Legends: Arceus - Nintendo Switch

The best part of this game is how it separates itself from the traditional Pokemon game formula. This gives me hope for the future of Pokemon games

If youve ever played Pokemon youll enjoy this game. A semi open world take on the Pokemon series with solid combat and capture mechanics.

This is the best Pokemon game in a long time, and some even say best there is outright. Personally, I have sunk many hours into the game and love it. It relies heavily on catching Pokemon to complete research tasks so if you dont like the idea of going out and catching the same pokemon 20+ times, it might not be for you. However, I say give it a shot as it impliments new battle mechanics (significantly less trainer battles and no gym leaders), the areas are huge, and it feels like what a pokemon game should be.

So I’ve been playing Pokémon games since Pokémon Red… And (sorry if this offends anyone) they kinda suck…They’re all basically just reskins of each other with the same plot and same game mechanics. Basically, if you’ve played one game, you’ve played them all. And if you’re into that, great! Good for you!…I am not. Arceus however, is the first Pokémon game I’ve played that I’ve REALLY enjoyed. Primarily for the open world aspects it has in it. Most Pokémon games feel extremely…Cramped. There’s no freedom to do much, but this game gives you A LOT MORE FREEDOM. The boss battles are also different, challenging and fun! I also LOVE letting my Pokémon out of their balls and talking to them to see the animations! SO CUTE! I mean don’t get me wrong, you still have to sit through hours and hours of dialogue THAT YOU CAN’T REALLY SKIP!…And don’t care about. But honestly, I’m just used to that at this point with games that exist like Genshin Impact and other Nintendo games. It’s fun to play, fun to explore the maps and rewarding when you finally can explore a new region or find your first random shiny Pokémon walking around out in the wild and you’re just like “Wait…That Eevee isn’t the right color…” Overall, would highly recommend even if you’re sick of the classic Pokémon experience and are looking for a slightly new twist on things.

This is what Pokemon should have been 12 tears ago. Every game has done open world. And this game feels out of date now. I mean look at BotW, they had a huge sprawling map to random explore. Same with elden role,

I had so much fun playing this game. Its actually hard; where a lot of recent pokemon games werent. I also enjoyed that it was a little cheaper here on Amazon than at the store.

For those who didn’t receive the pre-order bonus. You have to get some stuff from the Mystery Gift function. For the Garchomp outfit you will get an email from Amazon with a code. It took a couple of days to get to me but you still receive it. Other than that this game is fantastic. It’s such a refresher to the Pokémon franchise. A little different but it still has elements of Pokémon. I do have to say I don’t enjoy the fact that Pokémon attack you but it does make sense, they are technically animals in that universe. I really enjoy collecting and crafting, super relaxing to me. 5/5 would play again.

Easily one of the best Pokémon games since BW2 in 2012. This game is exact what imagined future Pokémon games would be like when I was a kid. Even though the graphics could be improved, the gameplay is so addicting and the core mechanics have that Pokémon feel while trying something new. Ez 5/5
