> 24 hourIm gonna get some hate for this... I got this game recently and the last one I had played was Y and I LOVE that game. It was a big grand adventure and it had a lot going for it. This feels like theyre trying to do the same thing but something was irking me about it. It feels like less an adventure and more that youre at camp. You have camp counselors wholl open up paths after you do your trial/activity and proceed to the next challenge. The main female main characters eyes are big and soulless which really isnt helped by the way she reacts to things, or doesnt more accurately. Thats the thing, everyone expresses so well in this game, all the NPCs are rendered really well and nicely but then theres your souless self just standing there :) going for the ride. Never expressing herself, which maybe wouldnt be so bad if everyone else wasnt so expressive. Team Skull is probably the most amusing of the teams Ive seen in my Pokemon run (Red/Blue, Silver, Y) and the supporting characters with you are a bit ...weird to me. Maybe Im just missing something with them. But every cutscene with them felt the same after a while. Get in the bag and Im not mad that I lost for the 10th time. I like characters and their plots more than anything in RPGs, it can even make up for a bad story but Im just finding this adventure to be way more toned back and lacking in the adventure part and I just cant get on with it. It feels like Im being treated like a child while in previous adventures they treated you like you were rapidly earning respect. That you were of age and went out to do what you wanted vs a guided tour. The gameplay also feels slow, with the effects turned on in battle theres so many redundant things being done, even in the field even with the text at MAX speed. You found a berry! You got a berry! Wait, theres more here you found another berry! Theres separate text boxes for each of these, every time, and its the theme of the game, wasting your time with redundant, obvious text every step of the way. Only made worse by unskippable jingles every time. Im playing 7th Dragon 3 Code VFD and everything is fast and snappy. Hit a guy, hes confused, they have an effect and a short text blurb that flies on screen to tell you whats going on if the effect wasnt apparent, all effects are listed so they dont have to remind you EVERY TURN. The game is so slow and its all things that other RPGs understood how to speed up ages ago so I can only assume they did this to pad the game out and it just isnt for me. Its just burnt me out real fast and Im sorry to say Im selling this game. Its such a shame, the game looks great, characters express themselves like youd see in Mega Man Legends, youve never had such a great view into the pokemon games. But theres so many things gone wrong in the game for me I just cant stick it out. I swear Pokemon Y wasnt this tedious...Yes Im sure it dragged its feet in some ways but I dont remember it being this tedious.

> 24 hourThis is a great game for pokemon fans who are looking for a slightly different story line and non-traditional rpg main game. To put it simply this game uses maintains many of the mechanics and features of the main story games for pokemon but introduces a story line that doesnt necessarily involve beating several gyms, defeating an evil organization, and beating the elite four, although two of those elements are still within the game (it still feels a more variant of typical pokemon games). Any main rpg style pokemon game is very easy to pick up and play without any prior knowledge.

> 24 hourA few weeks ago I purchased Pokemon Sun for myself, being a long time fan of pokemon (since my single digit childhood). I have been playing it a lot lately, and my Wife has seen me playing it a few times. She showed immence interest in the game, so I decided to get her Moon for her birthday. She has not been able to put the game down. She absolutely adores it. Its fascinating that someone who has very little experience in the franchise can learn and fall in love with it so fast. Its refreshing for someone who has been a deep diving fan since his very early childhood. Conclusion: My Wife and I will be playing this together, and I couldnt be happier with the product!

> 24 hourAbsolutely my favorite main-series Pokemon game to date, especially since X&Y (which I was not a fan of overall). The characters are so much more likable and the shift to a more interesting, story-focused experience is really appreciated. It offers a lot of fresh new things to the formula while still keeping that undeniable Pokemon feel. Even though theyve clearly made certain aspects easier for the new audience brought in by Pokemon GO, as a veteran I feel it doesnt interfere with the experience and it still feels engaging and fresh enough to enjoy whole-heartedly. My only warning is, if playing on the original 3DS, the framerate can dip significantly during things like double-battles or Totem battles. It doesnt dampen the overall experience for me personally, but be aware that its optimized far better for the New 3DS systems and you may notice some bad framerates if not playing on the newer system. Technical gripes aside, I hope to see more games following Sun&Moons lead in the series future. Alola!

> 24 hourThe game is definitely a low point for the Pokemon franchise. Dont get me wrong, I LOVE mega-evolution and Z-moves, I think the Alolan forms are 100% wonderful, I think Team Skull are the best antagonists since team rocket, and the Ultra Beasts are cool. I love so much in this game, but I still consider it basically unplayable. The core gameplay mechanic appears to be a mini game where you try to escape from conversations with random characters that you dont care about by pressing A as rapidly as you can. This mini game is repeated over and over again. I put 400 hours into White 2, another 200 into Y (which had similar problems as this one, but not as bad), and at least 100 into Omega Ruby (which despite the time I spent was far superior to X&Y), but I havent been able to make myself finish this one. Aside from my issues with the random cutscenes and monologues that the game is filled with, the actual game is very very easy. It feels like no trainer has even 3 pokemon in their party, and there are random people offering to heal you every ten feet. Dungeons (such as they are) are very short and nearly completely linear.

> 24 hourIve played pokemon games for almost 10 years now and I can safely say, this may be one of the weakest in the series. They focused way too much on story and wouldnt let go of your hand, basically played the game for you and didnt open many possibilities for exploration compared to previous titles. Story is kind of mediocre, I didnt pay too much attention later on because I just wasnt interested. Lots of filler in there to make the story last longer too. Its a great game for kids who are new to the series I suppose or new to the pokemon games in general but for someone whos played a lot of pokemon, its not like the games previously but it doesnt change my view. Nontheless, I dont hate it, I dont like it. Its average. You cant go wrong with it, youll enjoy playing it anyway.

> 24 hourI have not been a fan of any of the Pokémon games that came out after platinum but this one is really great. THE GOOD: The whole world is in a 3D view instead of a top down or mixed viewpoint. I think they did a really good job of implementing it because I hated it in xy. One of the things I hated about xy was all the new stupid Pokémon and the abscense of the original 150. However in this game the original Pokémon are abundant and I think they did a great job refreshing some of them with the aloa special looks. Having to complete challenges instead of gym matches is a refreshing mix up, and still decently challenging I never liked mega evolution. It just felt forced, and a little over powered. It really takes no place in this game and instead you get to use z powers which are a once per battle powerful attack of one specific type. I think this was a nice addition to the game, but still a little over powered THE BAD: I am playing on a new 3ds xl and have not had any issues but some of my friends with a regular 3ds xl have said that the game lags a bit in some of the bigger battles. Team skull is pretty cringey in the way they talk and try to act gangster. They dont really feel evil to me and just seem like a minor nuisance There are four islands and the entire first island is really just a giant tutorial All of the avatars are super feminine. As a guy I would prefer if I could make a guy that looked at least somewhat like a guy You dont really have a rival, your opponent chooses the starter weak to yours and is never really any trouble to defeat

> 24 hourThe first mainline Pokemon game that feels like it really tries to mess with the formula since the FireRed/LeafGreen introduced the Sevii Islands. I also really appreciate how well the levels scale, making battles actually somewhat tense, especially from the Elite 4 onwards. It was quite a surprise when I became Champion and the story actually brought me to somebody who was about as difficult as the previous trainer. The Poke Pelago is a neat addition, as well, and participating in that both encouraged me to catch any Pokemon I saw and made maxing out affection significantly more streamlined.

> 24 hourI logged so many hours within the first month of owning this game! I opted for Moon mainly because my nickname is Sun and I needed some balance in my life. As an old-time player of Red/Yellow/Blue, Moons gameplay keeps the original style in-tact while introducing better alternatives; for example, no longer do you have to rely on Pokemon solely for HM use - you will always have all the HMs at your fingertips as you progress through the game! It keeps the online capability and clock-dependency of previous games, which can be a little weird if you choose Moon because your in-game time will be offset by 12 hours (day when its night, vice versa). A personal favorite capability of Moon is Poke Pelago which lets you make the best use of the time that youre being a responsible adult and doing work instead of playing Moon. You can train up Pokemon or let Pokemon collect items for you to pick up when you return which is determined by how much you decide to give them treats. Its not necessary to use Poke Pelago to complete the game, but it does allow for better time management. All in all, I havent really been fond of the newer games since Im more of a casual gamer, but Moon is a lovely bridge between casual and serious gaming. Ive definitely had friends who take the game to the next level and create a Pokemon team to be reckoned with, but I prefer to play on my own terms. Moon allows for both types of gamers and I have found myself going back to the game every couple of days with enthusiasm. Oh, and Nebby? Please get in the bag.

> 24 hourFeels short compared to ORAS or X/Y. They keep adding customization but then no matter what you do your character looks like a little moron. Most of the Alolan Pokemon variants are embarrassing. Its like they went with all the worst ideas the designers had. What if Dugtrio had long blonde hair? What if we made Meowth a gay stereotype? What if Persians head was like 3 times normal size? These are the questions that will be answered in Pokemon Sun/Moon. The difficulty spikes near the end of the game, meaning you have to grind for hours to be strong enough to beat bosses. Pokemon Bank doesnt yet support Sun/Moon so you wont be able to import any of your strong Pokemon to help with this until January 2017. All that aside, its still a Pokemon game. Its fun to run around trying to catch the ones you want. Its fun to battle other trainers, though it gets tedious as in all the games. The story is pretty meaningless as always. I will say theres been significant improvement to the music and graphics since X/Y/OR/AS. Some of the songs are even good, rather than just irritating. Its a bit disappointing that you have to ride whichever pokemon are handed to you as ride pokemon and cant use your own, and there are a few other things youll find lacking after a bit, but its still a decent Pokemon game.
