> 3 dayAs soon as I saw the trailer for Pokemon Sun and Moon on YouTube,I knew I had to pre-order it.Lots of people have been waiting for so long to get their hands on this game and I was worried that as soon as I got mine,I wouldve been disappointed. When the demo came out,I instantly played it.I ended up craving more. But the wait was worth it! This game is so amazing even though I just barely started it.What I like about this is that you dont have to battle gym after gym in order to progress. There are around 4 islands in the game and each is controlled by an island Kahuna. The only way you can get to them is by completing some side quests or fighting in battles, which is completely different from previous Pokemon games in which you had to battle a bunch of gym leaders in order to get some progression.Another aspect that I like about the game is the time difference between Sun and Moon.Moon plays in a different time zone than Sun,which makes the game-play a bit more interesting. These are just some of the things that youll find different from previous game generations.Regardless,I enjoy this game and I know Ill spend a lot of time playing it.

> 3 dayGame Freak needed to release a new Pokemon game to reinvigorate the series, and Pokemon Moon is that game. Ive been fan since the beginning so I was a little skeptical about the change up from gym leaders to island hoping, but the experience is still 100% Pokemon adventure. The graphics a step in the right direction with fully a animated protagonists and NPCs as opposed the classic big headed sprites of previous games. Keeping with clothing customization from Pokemon X/Y was a smart move as well, especially now that you can see the details much more. I can keep describing how great it is but you really need to experience it for yourself. Again, its not your typical 8 gym, catch legendary, then fight the elite four adventure, but it is definitely worth your time.

> 3 dayFor most of my life, the Pokemon series has had a huge influence on how I spend my free time. From playing pokemon Leaf Green late into the night on weekends, to now playing Pokemon Moon while procrastinating on my college essays. I am happy to say I have added this to my collection. Pros: Pokemon - The usual formula for the most part. Nostalgia value, and replayability as per the norm for the Pokemon series. Deep Story - Most Pokemon games of yesteryear did not have a deep story. Only up until the last two generations did we have major story arcs and prologue style after stories. Cons: Lots Of Change - If you arent a fan of change, you might not enjoy this. They changed things up with this edition of the series. Gyms are no more as you complete trials rather than gain badges. This is the main difference, and one I dont personally find bad, but it can be a dealbreaker for those diehard Pokemon fans. Lag - If you do not have the New 3DS system, you will experience slight drops in performance in certain battle situations. Its not a big issue to me, and one Im looking to fix by buying a New 3DS system in the future. Over all, I am loving the game so far. It is worth your time buying for yourself, your children, or your grandchildren. It is great for all ages, and truly a wonderful gaming experience. 89/100 Packaging and Amazon Purchase Review: Arrived safe and sound in a bubble wrap envelope. The estimated time was spot on, and in the end I am 200% happy with this purchase.

> 3 dayHuge changes to the pokemon formula since Pokemon X & Y, no longer as its strictly battle and collecting focused (although still present) as they added variety of mechanics to switch things up a bit and to bring more variety in gameplay. Changes include: 1. No HMs No longer do you have to carry around a HM slave (s). This has bothered me in the past games as I have to restrict 1 or 2 slots out of my party of 6 to help traverse certain areas of the world. In the place of HMs there are Poké Rides where you can ride pokemon interacting with them on the world map, some you may not be able to access until youve completed mission within the game. 2. Is it super effective? No longer do you have to look up guides online (unless its your first encounter) to tell if a move is super effective or not very effective against the pokemon youre up against. After you battle a pokemon once, the game will tell you what moves is super effective or not in the battle menu once you encounter the same pokemon the second time. 3. No Traditional Gyms No longer do you have to battle your way through gym after gym to prove youre the best out of brute force. There are 4 islands in the game, each of which are controlled by 4 Island Kahunas To get to them you have to get pass Trail Captains and Todum Pokemon Trail captain will give you quizzes, side quests to complete, and/or fight in traditional battles Todum Pokemon. Basically typical pokemon you find the wild, but significantly stronger and have grunts that help them battle. 4. Rotom Pokédex Typical pokedex, but with a face and personality attached to it. 5. Alola Forms Basically different forms of pokemon you seen in previous generations. Either its there physical form that is different and/or the pokemons typing 6. Z-Moves With a Z-Ring and a Z-Crystal you can use a pokemons ultimate move once per battle. Its not like Mega Evolutions where it stays constant 7. QR Scanner. You can now scan QR codes to get event pokemon 8. Battle Royal A 4 player free-for-all where the battle ends after all of ones pokemon trainers faints. They tally the win-losses of each trainer and the one with best stats at the end wins 9. Hyper Training. Once a pokemon reaches level 100, they can go through hyper training which can improve a Pokemons IV 10. Poké Pelago Your PC Box now has functionality to it. Its like a day care sort of thing, instead of just depositing your pokemon, you can passively train them in the PC or have them search for items 11. Festival Plaza. An online mode where you can battle other trainers and trade with them. You get festial coins for each interaction which you can spend on clothes, shop or upgrade your pokemons stats. Theres also missions you can undertake to get more coins. 12. Night and Day phase, New Pokemon Pokemon Sun goes the traditional time route while Moon does the opposite. In Pokemon Moon if youre playing in the daytime, the game will consider it night time in-game. Some events also play out differently like different Totum Pokemon on the same island/trail In traditional Pokemon fashion you can only get some pokemon in each version so trading is required either with a friend or if you own both versions. Also some pokemon evolve differently in each version now. Id say some of overall models of new pokemon are better looking than the last batch in previous iterations of the pokemon series. 13. Auto Run Your run is as fast as a bike now, and it has unlimited use. You can now move in all directions instead of the traditional 4 and it feels very fluid 14. No Rod Fishing is now dedicated to specific regions in the world. You cannot fish wherever you want anymore. 15. Photo Taking You can now take Photos of pokemon in the wild. 16. Team Skull and Aether Foundation Team Skull is the new antagonist group like Team Rocket, but they have a new style to them as they try act gangster-ish with their animated hand gesters/movements. They have more personality and have a darker tone to their backstory and mission. Aether Foundation is the opposite of Team Skull as their mission is to cure injured and hurt pokemon. The group is also conducting research on the Ultra Beast (Pokemon) which is a good mystery story in and of itself. 17. Graphical Upgrade Game looks better than the last, although there are some pixelation around the edges still. Models look more realistic than before, and the battle animations are more visually impressive. There are some framerate issues on 2v2 battles for some reason, but then again I own the launch 3DS. You may not have the issue if you own the New 3DS? Its a turn-based system so it doesnt really matter much in terms of gameplay, but the slow down is noticeable 18. Pokemon Refresh Similar to Pokemon amie but with more grooming options -Returning mechanics: Pokebank return, you can now transfer all your pokemon to Sun and Moon Clothing Options: Although more options are available, it still feel very limited. Mega Evolutions return, but none for new pokemon from what ive discovered Overall, love the changes to the traditional formula as it gives the Pokemon Series a nice refresh and is more streamline to play.

> 3 dayThe best pokemon game I have played in several years. I have been a fan for 15 years and with the change to 3D I have not had a good time with it. X and Y was not that fun, while omega ruby and alpha sapphire I found to be a poor remake of the original, but I found Both Sun and Moon to be a refreshing new take to pokemon. It has it`s changes true and It has a rather slow start which to a series veteran was very annoying, but in the end I think it was a new and great change addition to the series.

> 3 dayPROS: At first, I really did not like the Alolan theme, thinking that it was cheesey, but I see it was made in good taste and actually appreciate the immersion the game makers have established. If youre a player that loves the fine details of the game, and recognizes the effort game developers put into making every aspect interesting, this is the right game for you. Its chock full of great fun minigames, pretty good customization, and a lot of quality of life improvements. I havent loved a Pokemon game this much since Pokemon Ruby-Sapphire! CONS: The only con is that a lot of the male character customization is limited and seem low effort, especially compared to that of the female characters! I wish the devs would focus more on male-player customization-- or at least provided a way to change player gender. Men like a diversified look and occasionally don long hair too, I promise.

Greater than one weekAs a longtime pokemon fan, this purchase was a no-brainer for me. For this installment I chose to not look at any spoilers of the game beforehand, so these are my thoughts while playing through: New Pokemon: Any game with new pokemon usually guarantees a thumbs up from me. Im less of a fan of remakes because I played through the originals so many times as a kid. The new pokemon this time around were all really great and I felt like a kid again seeing them all for the first time. I also really liked the addition of alolan forms for some of the original 151 pokemon, but there were only ~15 of those total (including some evolutions), which was kind of disappointing. Another great thing is that there are plenty of new legendaries / special pokemon to catch, which I felt was lacking in X/Y. Z Moves: Instead of mega-evolution, this game introduces z-moves. They are essentially a once-per-battle super move that you can use by attaching an item to your pokemon. Honestly, I prefer mega evolutions. It breathed new life into some pokemon by changing abilities and appearance. Z-moves are kind of boring... Trial battles instead of gyms: Trials replaced gyms in this installment. This was a super cool new addition in my opinion. A lot of people are unsure how they feel about the change, but I thought trials were great. They are very similar to gym battles in terms of progression through battles/ puzzles to be solved, but the advent of totem pokemon, enemies calling for help during battle, and increased stats made them more challenging and satisfying. Extra features: In terms of extra features, this game did a good job. Replacing hidden machines with pokemon riding was a great idea, it really makes you feel more involved and saves your teams move slots. Pokemon refresh and poke-pelagio are also fun little mini games that offer benefits during the main game. Festival plaza is basically more cumbersome way to connect to the internet/ interact with others, but it adds minigames and shops that can be fun as well. Lastly, breeding for competitive play is easier and quicker than ever, which is always appreciated by those getting into online play for the first time. Overall, I really enjoyed (and am still enjoying) the game! I would recommend it to any pokemon fan new or old, and even as an introduction to the series, as the game itself isnt too hard and there is a huge variety of pokemon to catch! The game has a few ways to increase or decrease difficulty, such as the exp share and constant stream of rare candies, which is great for easing new players in, or for veterans who want more of a challenge.

> 3 dayIve been playing this game for a little over a week now and I love it. Obviously I havent finished it, I play casually when I have some time, but so far it is great. Im leaving a review for some notes about the game, for people wondering if theyd want this newest one. For starters, youre not earning badges in this one, youre completing Trials on 4 different islands, its different from the others and I really like it. There is virtually no 3D in this game. Apparently in just one small portion of it, a mini-game of sorts, it is used, but in regular game play and in battles there is no 3D. I like that, because honestly I rarely use the 3D, but I can see how this would be a deal breaker. I feel like the different battles, parts of trials, and fighting the Kahuna are broken up so in between you train and level your team, and you dont have to grind like crazy before you get to the next gym. It feels more like a story rather than you just running from town to town to battle gyms. Theyve changed a few other things and I really like it, they made it different enough yo justify the purchase, but not so much that it doesnt feel like a Pokemon game.

> 3 dayGreat new entry in the Pokemon series. As a long-time fan, it is nice that they are still improving the games with each iteration-- it would be really easy for them to put out a sub-par product and still get sales. I have already put ~120 hours into this game (about 30 or so in the story with oodles of time in the post-game), but even with that time investment I will buy it again for the Nintendo Switch and play through again :P. Some of the great quality of life improvements over the previous games: No more HMs Previously, you had to make room on your Pokemon for story-based moves (and have specific types of Pokemon in your party), but this is no longer the case! Great story The story in this game is one of the best in the series, possibly the best (over B/W), though this will probably differ somewhat based on personal taste UI Improvements If you ever had to look up type matchups to see if a move was Super Effective/ Not Very Effective, you are in luck: after you have battled a Pokemon, your move effectiveness is always displayed on your moves in the lower screen. IV Judging all Pokemon in your PC boxes at any PC This is huge for anyone that breeds Pokemon: after unlocking it, you can see the IVs for any Pokemon in your PC (which streamlines the IV checking process significantly). EV display in Summary screen This is a slight step back (as you could normally see this in the bottom screen at any time), but when you press the Y button on a Pokemon Summary it shows you the current EV investment for the Pokemon (with sparkles if a stat is maxed). It is nice having the same UI for the IVs and EVs in the same spot. Basically, if you have ever liked Pokemon (or just want to try a fun game), try this out. It is totally worth it. If you are thinking of trying another Pokemon game after Pokemon GO, you will not be disappointed-- the actual gameplay here is so much better. Just buy this and a fitbit :P.

> 3 daypros: - its pokemon!hawaii, which is cool - lots of new grass, fairy, and ground pokes that are very cute and interesting typing - breeding is now a billion times faster & easier thanks to the blessed inclusion of a visual display of each IV via an in-computer judge option - the legendaries are extremely easy to catch - now even more and cuter animations for all pokes! - 1st obviously fanservice DILFy professor - you can multiply your berries, hatch eggs / enhance friendship score, do EV training, collect pokemon amie / refresh affection items through the poke pelago system which is very convenient and brings a nice little check in element like berry bush farming used to be except not horribly boring and annoying - god finally organizing your item bag is a realized thing and its really easy with the free space pocket - seems like a lot of boxes at first but you only get like 16 which is pretty crap cons: - way too short - cant go beyond alola - no kanto, johto, hoenn, or anything else... :( and gamefreak still doesnt seem to comprehend the massive moneymaker downloadable game expansions are - no fertilizer for berries & no hybrids - the festival plaza thing should be cool but its actually really tedious and painful; to even get close to instating a decent facility for like, EV training or item purchase, you have to grind on these little quizzes and NPC check-ins that are charming at first but quickly lose interest - daycare lady is now a young cowgirl with blonde pigtails instead of an old lady but for some reason takes twice as long to waddle back and forth retrieving your pokemon - story is kind of boring :/ - have to wait until january for pokemon bank ffs
