Greater than one weekEdited to add: I am updating and reducing my rating of this keyboard. I absolutely loved it -- when it worked. I retain the complaints about the updates. And I loved the feel of the keyboard and the programmable light. Unfortunately, it just gives too much problems. After one update, it slowed down, didnt strike keys, and when I hit an O, it gave lines and lines of them. I gave up and am back to a RedDragon, which is disappointing because I cant program the keyboard lights in the same productive way. But its clacky and serves the purpose comfortably. So all in all I am terribly disappointed in this keyboard. I wish I wasnt. I love the clacky keys, and the feel is wonderful. When the personalized light pattern works, thats great and very helpful. Unfortunately, as far as I can see there is no way to stop automatic updates of this software, and every time it updates it screws up the lighting pattern. Right now it is doing the stupid and annoying phasing between colors, and I cannot even get the software to open up to change it. In a day or so it will probably unexpectedly kick in, leaving me to wonder, what the bloody hell? Only the top keys are highlighted, not the shift keys. And sometimes it turns itself on and off with no reason that I can see. Finally, the cord is bizarre and very sensitive. I ended up buying a second one because it fell off the table and the power connection broke. Despite these extremely annoying problems, the feel does it for me. Other than that, great keyboard!

> 3 daySo when i first got this keyboard i was really pleased with it. I purchased this keyboard back in 2018 and have been using it since. Recently i got the razer edition lian li case to sync with my keyboard. However now in the past month my keyboard has been double typing letters and it looks like ill have to replace it, and im not sure if i want to go with another razer keyboard if ill have this same issue later on dowwn the road. At first i thought it was dust trapped in my W key so i cleaned my whole keyboard, wwelp that didnt solve the problem. My spacebar acted up as wwell, but cleaning it has fixed it. Not only does my W key double types but sometimes my D key as well. In this review u can see that WW is typed twwice, wwhich happens often and is super annoying. I see other reviewers have had the same issue, so take that into consideration if you purchase this keyboard. Oh and this is my first razer keyboard ive used, very unfortunate that they may lose a customer.

Greater than one weekLove this keyboard. This is the 4th mechanical keyboard I have in 10 years. Used 12 hours a day for programming, writing, and gaming. Bright, even, pleasant neutral-white backlighting is crisp and even, great to not have to deal with blinking and pulsing RGB toys. Keys are pleasant and clicky, with great feedback. Removable USB cable is great for switching between computers, and for transport. Easily removable yet durable keycaps make it easy to clean, too. Lack of a numpad is great for those of us who dont use it, the space saving is surprisingly significant, the keyboard no longer dominates desk space. The only potential con is, the bottom half of the keycaps is not backlit (ie the 4 glows, the $ does not). However, in my experience this isnt an issue. Though as a software dev I touch-type the symbol keys, obviously I cant touch-type the keyboard-specific volume, multimedia, and brightness keys - and yet, the glow of the monitor is enough to make them usable even at night. If you are visually impaired, or otherwise need to be able to clearly see the symbol keys, this may be significant for you, but only if you plan on using this keyboard in total darkness. If youre like me and wont be hampered by this, go for it! You wont regret it.

Greater than one weekThe box says for gamers by gamers but Im a programmer not a gamer... I have a much cheaper tenkeyless keyboard with noisy blue cherry keys that I really like but is too noisy for my wife since I work from home. I chose this keyboard because their website had sound samples and so I had a good idea that it would be quieter before I paid so much. It is MUCH quieter than the blue cherry as I hoped. The O rings help only a little bit. My wife is MUCH happier too. The downside is that the shifted function on the keys is not backlit. The first image shows the keyboard with backlighting on. I replaced the 0) key with one from my blue cherry keyboard. It fit and the second image shows that the ) is visible with the backlight on the other keyboard. Unfortunately the skirt is too long on the keys for the blue cherry keyboard and the stroke bottoms out on the skirt, which increases the noise. I used a dremel tool to scratch some of the secondary functions through the black paint so that they are visible with backlighting. Its not pretty but it works for me. Such a small change in how they printed the keycaps and it would have been a great keyboard for gamers and programmers.

> 3 dayWorks perfectly fine and comfortable to use. However the colors aren’t as vibrant as you would expect. Dark purples appear lavender.

> 3 dayUPDATE: Yeah, so the multiple characters from one keypress issue has crept into the picture. Specifically, the number 5 key, which depending on how hard the key is struck while typing, can slap down betweeen 1-3 5s. This is really unacceptable in a KB at this price range. And Razer, youre supposed to be better than this! The issue isnt a dealbreaker for gaming, but is a big pain in the ass when typing words, and especially passwords!!! So, I no longer casn recommend this kb. So mechanically, this kb has done well for me. Ive had none of the repeating key press issues some claim to have. The RGB lighting is awesome, one cazn set up the lighting to highlight specific keys, and you can set up different profiles for different ligfhting for different games. As for design, its kind of a mixed bag... The wrist rest is outstanding, its cushy and feels decent againsst the skin and it connects to the kb via magnets. Its super simple to just pick up and remove the wrist rest to make room on ones desk. But the choice to keep the secondaries unlit on the keys was absolutely stoopid. You cannot see the secondary keys because someone at Razer thought that everyone has them all memorized. Well, we all do not. This makes quickly finding and hitting something like, say $ or & more difficult than if they had, oh I dunno, made them light up. I get it, this is a gaming kb, but most folks also use thier gaming pc for other computing needs thus theyre typing things and thats where these keys not being lit could be an inconvenience for anyone who doesnt have them all perma-memorized. I do also like that the cord is removeable for quick removal from the desk, great for when one wants to wipe down ones desk. The ditching of the number pad saves a lot of deskspace, but some gamers will miss it, depending on the games they play. Some games are just better with a numpad. I dont find I use one in my gaming, so I went for one without, ymmv. Over all, the kb has worked well for me, and while the RGB lighting is excellent and fully configurable, the lack of lighting for secondaries sees this lose two stars for me, and had it been clearly noted by Razer, Id likely have bought a different kb.

> 3 dayIt was my first TKL keyboard and I was loving it ...until I spilled water all over it and it shorted and I had to throw it away. I really liked the fact that it had white LED backlights only, since Im kind of over the whole RGB GAMER phase of my life - it gives it a little more of that professional vibe. The keys were quiet, I did install all the O-Rings on the keys to make it even more quiet, but it was quiet enough without the O-rings too. I will buy it again when the time comes...

> 3 dayI upgraded frm to 2014 Blackwidow so comparing the construction quality is still great. Plastic is the main frame of the keyboard, the color and the texture changed in the V2 and also the legend of the keycaps. The switches I choose this time were the yellow linear since they were the lightest. They feel smooth to press. The only one that has like a scratchy feeling is the space bar when hitting it from the edges, that doesnt bother me since I use my thumb in the center to press it. Overall a great upgrade for me, its the same keyboard layout that Im use to just with RGB and better switches. I havent used the wrist rest, I find it not necessary since the default inclination is good. If you are in the market for a mechanical keyboard and you want RGB do not fear the Razer brand, its a really good product and the keycaps are durable.

> 3 dayMy previous favorite keyboard is no longer made. It was Razer Blackwidow Stealth tournament edition. This is basically that keyboard. It is slightly quieter than a standard mechanical keyboard, but it definitely gives those satisfying clicks and feel at your fingers. My only complaint is that the key caps somehow feel slightly cheaper than Ive come to expect from razer. Still a solid TKL if you want a slightly quieter mechanical keyboard. I am a gamer and I love it.
