> 24 hourThis is a really nice umbrella; large and it opens and closes easily. I do not consider it a travel umbrella. It is full size both open and closed and is heavy.

> 24 hourGreat umbrella for the price but did not last 2 windy days. It flipped backwards and I flipped it back to normal but a day later it flipped completely in reverse. 3 stars because the size was good but very weak through light windy rain.

> 24 hourI bought this because it was top of the list in a NY Times Wirecutter review of travel umbrellas. I was able to test it on a very windy, stormy day in the streets of Manhattan where the wind gusts surprise you at every street corner. This umbrella passed with flying colors. The product is sturdy, very easy to open and close (1 click both ways), and totally waterproof. Its big enough to shelter one person well, two at a pinch, and folded up it fits nicely in the water-bottle holder on the side of my backpack.

> 24 hourThis umbrella is large when open for a travel umbrella that collapses. It is better than the travel umbrella I had. I am very pleased.

> 24 hourI was going to order the plain black umbrella, but then saw this option in the other items considered area. I really like the burgundy color. Seems professional. Roomy. Havent tested it much yet, but for the price, it has to be a win.

> 24 hourIn shopping for a new compact umbrella, I prioritized durability and ease of use. I chose the Repel Windproof Travel Umbrella (also called the Repel Easy Touch Umbrella) based on several reviews but particularly based on the testing done by Outdoor Gear Lab web site, which rated the Repel highest for ease of use. I also considered the Lewis & Clark Travel Umbrella, but it wasnt available in navy blue. I think I made a good choice with the Repel. It is 11.5 inches long when collapsed, weighs 14 ounces, and the canopy has a diameter of 37 inches. It has 9 resin-enforced fiberglass ribs for support; they are gunmetal in color. Its entirely waterproof. The umbrellas best features are its automatic open-close mechanism and its handle. The auto open-close is very quiet and smooth. The handle is comfortable, textured for easy gripping, and has only smooth edges. There is no sharp edge at the top of the handle that I find on many compact umbrellas. The button to control the open-close is big but cannot easily be triggered by accident. The one difficulty I find with the Repel umbrella is that it takes some force to push the shaft into the handle to fully collapse the umbrella. The ribs close with the touch of a button. Then you need to place the palm of your hand on the top of the umbrella and push it into the shaft with your other hand on the handle. The instructions say this, but it is really the only way to close the umbrella. You cant pull the shaft down into the handle; you have to push it from the top. The umbrella weights 14.2 ounces by my scale, which is on the heavy side for a compact umbrella. But I like the quality of the handle and the entire umbrella feels sturdy, so Im not complaining. It comes with a matching nylon pouch or cover that is, as expected, a little difficult to get the umbrella back into. The trick is to twist in the direction that the umbrella folds while pulling the cover down over it. Still a nuisance to do while out and about, so I dont use the cover. Repel umbrellas have a lifetime guarantee, which is impressive for an automatic umbrella. I expect this umbrella to last a long time; it is a quality product, both in appearance and in actual operation.

> 24 hourIts okay, not wonderful and not terrible. Its a little heavy for traveling, but theres not much they can do about that and still have it be sturdy. Like all such umbrellas, you have to close it by hand. But its adequate. Time will tell how long it lasts.

> 24 hourReally like sturdy and dependable.. the only thing I would have wished is that the long piece that you hold the umbrella up with was longer it’s really short. Overall so far so good. I also really like that all you have to do is hit the button and it pulls the umbrella down.

> 24 hourNice atractive design, however not as described. It does not have air vents to release wind pressure as is advertised.
