Greater than one weekI dont recommend this if youre buying it for use with the Switch like I did. I have the Sega Classics collection and it is pretty useless for those games. There is no in-game button mapping option and you cant map this controller through the Switch settings either. This means your stuck with the crappy layout for that collection. There are other Sega Ages games I wanted to buy but it appears I wont be able to properly map those either. The C and Z buttons are mapped to ZL and RL which makes the standard Sega 6 button layout impossible through the in-game mapping . Whats the point of using this if I cant set it up like the original Sega 6 button controller? I was going to still give it 3 stars but theres a couple other annoying issues. I turned off my Switch (not sleep mode but completely off) and the USB receiver LED kept flashing. This was 45 minutes after I turned it off. Thats just stupid. I hope Im missing something here? Did I do something wrong or does this thing just keep searching until its unplugged? Also the location of the pairing button. Really brilliant idea to locate that in a spot where the switch is blocking access to it. This controller could have been perfect. Such a shame.

> 3 dayLove this controller. Works perfectly with my Genesis mini and my original Genesis model 1. I updated the firmware for both receivers before I started. One thing to note is that on the Genesis mini you would normally hold the start button down for a few seconds to get out of a game your playing to get to the Genesis mini menu. With this controller you can just hit the select button which is easier. If you use project lunar with your Genesis mini the games that you use a different core with retroarch you have to still hold the start button down like you would on the stock controller. Overall I would highly recommend this controller as it enables you to properly play some games like Street fighter 2 and mortal kombat which use more than 3 buttons. Also it cleans up my room since I dont have to have the Genesis/mini pulled out so my wired controller can reach. Now it sits clean on the tv stand and the wireless works perfectly. I have not noticed any additional lag or anything. I have attached a picture of the wireless controller next to my original 6 button Sega controller for reference. Its pretty much the same size. I cant see myself using the 3 button controller anymore after this purchase.

> 3 dayI purchased this wireless controller recently to use with my PC and I was hoping it would also work with my Atari. Great news! It works. So lets start with the good things: The look and the packaging are both outstanding. It comes with a nice case that holds the controller, the 2 dongles, USB cord and manual. It works with a wide variety of systems, including the Atari 2600 and 7800 (one-button only). I have yet to test on my Atari computer and original Genesis, but those should work fine with it too. Now for some not-so-good things: the controller is very light, which seems a bit odd. I never had this particular model of wired Genesis controller, so I cant really compare it though. Actually the only Genesis controller I have is a wired Hyperkin 6-button which is bigger and seems heavier. They could have put some weights in it. Just sayin. But the worst thing about this controller has to do with pairing. It should be automatic, and many times it is not. The controller and receiver lose their connection somewhat quickly when power is shut off to the system, then they need to be paired again by holding down buttons on both the dongle and controller. This is not so much of an issue on the PC, where you can switch games and emulators quickly without ever shuttling down the system, but with a console, you typically have to. I found that on the Atari 2600, if you swap out cartridges quickly (within 10 seconds or so) it will usually automatically re-pair itself. It didnt always do that on the Atari 7800 however and I had to fight with the pairing buttons again. Also, with emulators on the PC, you will have to go into the settings and manually configure some of them (for example, in Stella, you will have to set the inputs to move up or down manually). Anyway, for $35, I was expecting a little better. For a comparison, the Blue Lake wireless PS2 controllers, while not Genesis compatible, are half the price, work great with PCs, and always pair automatically.

> 3 dayI recently acquired a highly customized Stainless Steel Cased Neo Geo MVS console. It has controller ports for the original Neo Geo, Sega Saturn, Sega Genesis and PlayStation 2. I cant find any Neo Geo wireless controllers and highly doubt they ever existed. I had used wireless PlayStation 2 controllers several years ago but all that I could find available now run on two AAA batteries. I wanted a solution that would work with my port options and be rechargeable. This gave me the choice of the Retro-Bit Sega Genesis (this model) or the Retro-Bit Sega Saturn wireless controllers. Both models are available with or without the extra USB dongle. I decided to buy the model with the extra USB dongle. My reasoning for buying the dual purpose model was I had a lot of doubt this would work on my Neo Geo console. If it didnt work, I could at least use it with a PC. Now that I know it works perfectly, I will probably give the Retro-Bit Sega Saturn model a try. Im glad I took a chance because now I can play my Neo Geo console with a wireless controller. The button layout isnt exactly where I would put them but very close. The Start button is still the Start button and the Select button adds coins to continue. Pressing Start and Select at the same time gets me into my BIOS to make changes there if I want. The same BIOS menu can act as Pause. All things considered, I think its about as perfect a solution as I could hope for. I dont own a Sega Genesis but I did use it a bit on PC running retro games with emulators and I find it great for that purpose as well. I have no doubts it would work on an original Sega Genesis and it does make a decent PC controller for emulators. If you need a controller for either, this is a good choice.

> 3 dayNo problems pairing this with my genesis mini. Pairs every time. Feels like the real thing too. It functions with 99% of the 200+ games Ive tried it with but havent found many games that use the additional 3 grey buttons. No issues with lag/latency or with the button double clicking or anything like that. It reaches a good 30 or so before losing connection. Ive played for hours so I know the battery life is good but there is one issue... It seems like the battery drains the moment you unplug them from the charger, if youre playing or not. Even if fully charged hours ago, youll have to charge them before you play. I honestly love this product though. It comes in a really nice case too.

05-06-2025This controller does offer long battery life, feels right to me having grown up playing the original Genesis, and works just fine... But theres a definite quality control problem with the plastic tabs that operate the D-pad. One of them broke within less than two hours of use, and contacting the manufacturer was no help. At least I was able to repair it myself with some super glue and none of the other tabs have snapped off.

Greater than one weekWorks on every console or mini console Ive tried it on , and also my old Genesis. The D-pad is extremely touchy, but its not a problem. Its super light. Great controller that Im sorry I didnt get sooner!
