> 24 hourIve had this unit for 9 months now, so my review is for normal use daily with minimal on and off cycles with the buttons, but used every one in a while. When needing a lot more ports, mainly some I could turn on and off, I picked this one up along with its USB3 cousin. Both units worked great and had no issues. The other reviews are right and charging from this is not ideal without the charging power cord, but its not meant as a charger without that and USB 2.0 is generally limited in its power output by its standard, that being 500ma at 5v. With the power adapter, all 4 can pull 500ma without issue. After testing that, this particular hub was set to running my Keyboard, Mouse, and adapter for a controller. Works exactly as Id expect it to. Now as a note, a big reason for the 5 stars is the Sabrent customer service. I had one of the buttons go out, it just wouldnt stay activated anymore. This one was a rarely used button for the controller, but it did eventually fail. After reaching out, they had a new one in my hands in 2 days. They checked in, kept in touch throughout, checked in again after it was marked received to make sure it worked. Absolutely stellar as far as customer service goes. As far as the unit goes, it would be a 4 star unit, because of the failure and because its clearly built to the $ with plastics being the most prominent thing.

> 24 hourIt does not have a camera nor external power for better charging. Just a hub to connect your devices. Live the on/off switches so you dont have to unplug each device to disconnect from computer

> 24 hourSeriously. I bought this nine years ago, and it still works great. The USB on the side of my laptop is getting funky, constantly making my laptop chime when the external hard drive is bumped the wrong way. I think the USB port is loose inside my laptop. So I pulled the external hub from where Id stored it, plugged it in, and havent had a problem since. I bought this USB hub in 2013 when I had to do a lot of road trips, and for nine bucks (back then it was $6.99 but you have to factor in inflation) its well worth it.

> 24 hourMany Laptops these days come with only one USB port which is annoying as we have to connect several devices - camera, wireless mouse and keyboard etc. This product is a lifesaver and is so easy to use. I really like that it has buttons to turn off connected devices not in use so you dont have to plug in and unplug them constantly. the buttons also light up so it is easy to know which one is on or off. Highly recommend

> 24 hourI wish I had a longer cable, but besides that its alright. My laptop only has 3 USB ports and I use all of them plus at least 2-3 of the ports from this without fail.

> 24 hourMy employer recently swapped out my Windows 7-based VPN laptop, which was an HP ProBook with a newer HP EliteBook with iGel on it. The ProBook had four total USB ports, two on each side. I used three of them: one for a Yubi key, and two on the right side for a KVM hookup for mouse and keyboard. The EliteBook only has TWO USB ports, one on each side + a USB-C which is useless to me. I had no good way to use my KVM cables anymore, so I tried this hub from Sabrent. WORKS GREAT! I have a two-port KVM hooked to it, which runs my Microsoft Ergonomic Natural 4000 keyboard as well as a Logitech G502 mouse. It is a bit more desktop clutter now, but I can deal with that in favor of being able to use my original peripherals for long VPN sessions for work. The hub DOES NOT get warm, and thats after two hours of use. The light glow for each port is very unobtrusive and doesnt bother me. Only thing which I do a bit different is I often times will put the laptop into Sleep mode (it has a write-protected drive for security purposes) so my wifi and display settings dont get erased. The USB hub stays powered, so to prevent it from draining the laptop battery in sleep mode I just press the two buttons to turn off those ports and Ive had no issues so far with coming back to a dead battery.
