> 24 hourThis is the new version of 970 Evo Plus that has Elpis controller [S4LV003] which configured with113GB SLC cache and 800MB/s sustained write speed. While all the reviews outthere is for the older version that has the Phoenix controller [S4LR020] configured with 40GB cache and 1700MB/s sustained write speed. The old version box has orangish tune to it and the [S4LR020] can be read on the box picture while the new versions box is whitish and the controller model number is not readable. The new version is worse than the Crucial P5 at sustained write speed which is way cheaper.

> 24 hourI bought this to replace my SSD and for the normal average user you may not see an uplift in speed from a traditional SSD. If youre coming from a mechanical hard drive to this nvme drive you will definitely notice the Improvement in speed. Putting one of these into an old laptop or old computer, assuming you have a slot on the board, will bring a laptop or computer back to life. Of course that also assumes you dont have a dual-core processor which is going to bottleneck the hell out of this nvme

> 24 hourFirst off, great product and great corrective action taken by amazon. Serious issues in either the Amazon warehouse, Samsung manufacturing plant, or people buying these and sending them back to amazon. I bought a 500GB Samsung EVO and a 2TB Samsung EVO Pro. The 500GB Samsung EVO was used but I just reformatted it and that was that. The 2TB EVO Pro came in what appeared to be a sealed box but had a 250GB non pro inside. Amazon did take my word and send me a replacement, though be warned. The odds of ending up with this product being heavily tampered with (in my experience) is very high.

> 24 hourThis is undoubtedly one of the best PCIe 3 NVMe drives out there; plenty of reviews showing that. But with my experience installing it into a Dell 8940 (May 2022) I ran into an issue. I already had a 512GB m.2 drive from the factory in the motherboard slot. I added this 2TB Samsung using a PCIe x4 adapter. Then I ran Crystal Mark and later Samsung Magician and found that the NVMe drives read performance was throttling at 900 MB on both the Dell-supplied NVMe and the Samsung EVO Plus 970. I was expecting read performance at around 3500 MB/s. After researching it for a short time, I found several threads on Dells support site and elsewhere with others having the exact same problem. Your situation may be different, but I implemented one of the solutions in those threads and that is working for me. In short, I updated the 8490s motherboard BIOS and then reverted back to apply Default Settings in the new BIOS. After that, both NVMe drives have expected read performance at around 3500 MB/s. My non-technical summary of the problem: it has something to do with the width of the x4 PCIe slot on the motherboard. Something Dell sets in the BIOS is causing that x4 lane to operate at about 25% capacity. Good luck.

> 24 hourHow hard is it to include an adapter so I can externally plug this into my computer while I clone the current drive to replace it.... this one does not include anything to plug this in to set it up...
