This drive is great... But thats all you get -- the drive. No SATA cables, not even screws for mounting it.

Just swapped out my old tired hdd for this samsung evo 860 1tb and its night and day faster. I went from 1 min boot times to 10 secs even faster than my newer desktop by a few seconds. Samsung data migration was trash but I had to used another program with no problems.

Im not sure if it was the fault of the drive but I could not just replace my secondary drive on my to drive system with Windows 7 Professional. I had to replace the drive and then reload a fresh copy of Windows for it to recognize and work properly.

I just installed this in my mid-2012 MacBook Pro over the weekend. We use the 850 version in all our desktops at work for the last 3 years and they have been solid. The only drawback is the lack of software for Mac. No Migration or Magician available and updates to firmware seem to be a process as well. That would make this a 5-star review. I cloned my Apple stock HDD using Carbon Copy Cloner (it actually works very well and UI is straightforward to the new 860 EVO, installed and it worked as expected. I have not enabled Macs OE TRIM setting as I have read mixed reviews on how nicely it plays with 3rd party drives. I wish Samsung would make a Mac version of Magician as it is helpful to know the health and performance of the drive. As for functionality itself, it is very noticeably quicker than the HDD and everything loads incredibly fast. I would recommend this product without question to Windows users and with an asterisk for Mac users. Just do your homework so you know the features youll have access to.

Very fast and good quality. I have a 1TB drive as my secondary drive in my laptop. I have lots of files that I pull from the drive constantly, and I love the transfer speed of this thing. Excellent quality, cheap, 5/5, ESPECIALLY for the price I got them for ($120 Black Friday)

Im running the Samsung 860 EVO 4TB SSD inside an OWC Mercury Pro Quad JBOD 4 bay enclosure along with a pair of WD 10TB drives attached to a Dell XPS 17 laptop. Im not doing a lot of heavy read / write activity from the SSD device but when I need to access my music and other less frequently used files not stored on NVME this performs well. Im getting 552MB read and 507MB write performance (see attached CrystalDiskMark test). Ive used other Samsung SSDs in the fast and they have always worked well for me.

Great drive... Just like all the reviews say... But if you have m2 connection then an m2 drive would be a better choice

Love my 860 EVO. I have a couple and they are simple to install, copy to - using Samsung Magician - and they run like the wind. Cut my boot time to almost nothing.
