Greater than one weekAbsolutely amazing, took my mid 2011 iMac running Mavericks from a boot time of over a minute to under 10 seconds with absolutely no lag. I cannot recommend it enough - the pro class is definitely the way to go with an SSD and the 10 year warranty is just the icing on the cake. It makes my old iMac feel like a totally different and new machine. With it more than 1/2 full (190 GB FREE), it still is clocking in at 380-410 MB/s read and write - definitely work the money.

Greater than one weekThe warranty on this drive convinced me to go SSD, and the 960GB size let me replace the spinning magnetic 1TB drive in my PC without losing much capacity. To replace an existing disk you will need disk cloning software and a USB3.0 to SATA 6G cable / adapter. I bought the IO Crest adapter, and used (the free version of) Reflect by Macrium. It did work - on the second try. The first try failed in the middle. The second try succeeded probably because I left my computer completely alone while it was in progress. Now, to the review: the speed up in boot time is quite noticable. The speed up in Adobe Photoshop Elements loading my Catalog of over 1000 photos into the Organizer is more than noticable, its amazing. The monitoring program that comes with it (SanDisk SSD Dashboard) is very reassuring. Right now it shows that the drive is in good health, has 100% of life remaining (ie, has not used any of its spare blocks) and its internal temperaure is 77 degrees F. It is quiet, cool, and lightning fast. In summary: I should have done this sooner!

> 3 dayI purchased the SanDisk Extreme Pro SSD 2-3 years ago, not a single hiccup. I purchased my 2nd in November 2015. I even purchased an Extreme Pro USB! This drive is GOOD. My computer starts up fast and with a 10 year warranty this company has your BACK. As a computer tech, I see everything from dead HDDs (hard drives) to HDD overload. When a customer wants fast and sustaining, I give recommend this drive. I had a terrible experience with the Samsung 850 EVO so for anyone trying to pick from the two, this one is the easiest and most reliable. The speed isnt even a question. My computers start in under 7 seconds, with an update 15 seconds. Thank you SanDisk, I sell your products, I buy ONLY your products. For anyone serious about speeding up their computer and looking for a reliable solution. A bang for your buck, THIS is it.

> 3 daySanDisk has always had a reputation for quality products and this SSD is no exception. With the cost of SSD drives falling it is not hard to justify an upgrade if you are still using mechanical hard drives. This is a great price for a large capacity drive like this. I still use a mechanical drive for bulk storage, but all my programs run from this one, and you wont believe the difference in the response of your computer when you upgrade to a SSD. I have no problem recommending this drive, it is top-quality all the way.

> 3 dayBlazing fast, cut my reboot speed by 50%. NOTE: This is a bare SSD only, without screws, cables, brackets, or cloning cable & software. I also picked up the following: 1) AFUNTA 6-Inch Sata Power Y Splitter Cable Adapter - M/f (Power Cable) to provide power, from Amazon 2) APRICORN Notebook Drive Upgrade Kit (cloning cable & software) from Best Buy 3) A standard 2.5 to 3.5 ssd adapter from my local computer store. Of these three additional items I had the hardest time finding the power-Y splitter. Couldnt find it in any local computer store.

> 3 dayThis thing is great - and Im a Samsung bigot/fan. I wish it was 1TB instead of the odd 960GB. This means transfers can be cumbersome and take more steps than a direct disk copy. Thats my biggest beef. The system I put this in boots super quick, the drive is of course silent. Its almost as fast as my other Samsung Evo Pro SSDs!

> 3 dayTIP for those using this as their primary hard drive: turn off unnecessary WINDOW SERVICES that read and write to an SSD. Reading and writing to this SSD, reduces lifespan. I will try later to update this sharing with you what services I have turned off that are unnecessary and believe me, a LOT of MS services ARE unnecessary, like ANY of the Remote services IF YOU DO NOT LOGIN TO YOUR HOME PC FROM ELSEWHERE. If you dont, turn these off as they are a security risk to begin with. I will be back later to give you all a list. OH, and be sure the TRIM feature is on by installing the SanDisk tool. Go to their site to download it. It will sit in your task bar and let you know temperature, read/write status, capacity, etc. TRIM is auto set when you install this drive, but default. Also, an SSD are CHIPS, not platters. TURN OFF: ANY disk defragger (SSDs do not require defragging) ANY read/write utilities (NOT apps like MS Office that you install) Windows INDEXING and SEARCH (turn BOTH off!) IF YOU HAVE A HDD SLAVE DRIVE like a Western Digital SATA drive (not another SSD): Move your PAGEFILE to the slave drive root for reading and writing. To save time, go to these sites and follow their instructions which fit your situation: (...)

Greater than one weekI built my gaming pc using the extreme pro 480gb as my main internal drive. Build: Gigabyte z170x gaming 7, i7 6700 cpu, geforce 980 gpu, corsair vengeance 16gb pair of ram, windows 10, azza 1000 r tower, cooler master geminII cpu fan, ect. The sandisk extreme pro works fantastic in this system. Everything I do is very quick and after hours of use the temps are low and fans never kick up to high speed. The boot up time is nearly instant.
