> 3 dayI did a side by side of two Dell e6540 laptops (brand new, same image, specs, etc). Only difference was the SSD and the HDD. The HDD was getting around 100 MB/s seq read and 95 MB/s seq write. On the SSD I get around 515 MB/s seq and 485 MB/s write. The SSD system is very snappy whereas the HDD will spin frequently. I went with this SSD over the Samsung based on the reviews from Anand Tech and Toms hardware. I did check prices today however and the Samsung 850 EVO 250GB is only 89 bucks. I bought this one last week for 130 but it is 119 today. If money is tight and youre trying to get the absolute biggest bang for your buck, you might want to look into the Samsung but if you want the best, I dont think youll be disappointed in this at all. If Anand and Tomshardware recommend it and claim its the best, you cannot go wrong.

Greater than one weekBest thing I could have bought. It made my wifes MacBook Slow into a MacBook Pro (event though I am not a fan of Mac). It used to take her 2 minutes to turn on, 15 or 30 seconds to get to home page from sleep, and 8 minutes (how crazy!!!) to open up LightRoom or PhotoShop. Her computer had that stupid beach ball spinning all the time, and all the programs ran slow (her computer is barely over a year old). I copied her hard drive onto this SSD and we havent had one problem since! Her computer will come all the way on and at home screen in about 15 seconds, when from sleep it is right up by the time it is all the way opened and once you enter password it is right at home screen, no wait. Also you can have a ton of programs open and it doesnt have any delay or lag switching between them. LightRoom and PhotoShop open in a mind-blowing 5 seconds compared to 8 minutes. I didnt know the SSD would do that for her computer but I am slow glad it did and I am forever grateful to SanDisk! Awesome product!

> 3 dayVery good performance. I am pleased with this SSD. I believe it is faster in read and write times than my plextor M.2SSD drive that it replaced on my Asus X99-Deluxe, due to running out of space. I have not bench-marked it yet so i cannot verify its true speeds. I chose not to use the free software offer included with the SSD to clone my plextor SSD hard drive to this new one. I am very, very happy so far. I would buy again.

> 3 dayI bought four of these for a new system. It has been six months now and I am pleased with the speed. However one of the units was defective and when I got around to the installation it was past the Amazon return period. So I returned it to SanDisk the supposed 10 year warranty. After several tedious e-mail exchanges they said I could return it, which I did 6 months ago. After one month they acknowledged receipt of the item. But I have not heard a word since then. Hence the two star review. The ten year warranty is nice but if they dont honor it the promise isnt worth much. It is a good product but dont buy it because of the warranty. Update 9/5/2015 I have had the 4 units now for about a year. Use is moderate. I am a software developer and I use one drive for compiling. The other three receive less use. SMART reports bad sectors on 3 of the 4 drives, ranging from 10 to 40. I am told that this is not sufficient to return the drives under warranty, but most of the drive health utilities that I have recommend that I watch the drives carefully, especially the one with 40 bad sectors. I am lowering the review from 2 to 1 star. I cannot recommend these drives. I got a couple of nasty comments because of a typo in the original post. I said I returned the drive to Samsung. That was a typo. Of course I sent it to the manufacturer (Sandisk). That should have been obvious. You cant just send drives back. You have to call and give them the serial numbers and get permission to return. I had Samsung on my mind because I just purchased Samsung replacements, which so far are working great. It was an honest typo. No need for the nasty comments.

> 3 dayFast and reliable SSD with a 10-year warranty. Better than Samsung SSD in software as Samsung cloning does not support non-Samsung recovery partitions. So if you want to clone your disk to ssd and keep say a Sony revovery partition, the Sandisk comes with Acronis WD edition that supports cloning/resizing all partitions from source to destination drive. One note, that since it is a WD edition of Acronis, it will not install if it doeasnt detect Sandisk/WD drive. So make sure your external USB to SATA does not hide the name of the drive(like in Device manager) otherwise Acronis will not install. I had bought a Dugol enclosure that did that and it did not work with acronis. I had to use my old Rosewill enclosure to get it to work. After cloning my original disk to it, I installed the Sandisk Extreme pro in my Sony laptop and it worked flawlessly and it is very fast!

> 3 daySo far so good .... A NIGHTMARE to get your system copied to.... The ONLY company I know of that does not give you a way to copy your old system to it..... YOU MUST BUY SOFTWARE TO DO THAT!!! So be prepared to spend another 30 bucks. OR just use the extra 30 bucks to get a larger competitor drive(SAMSUNG) that will give you the resources to copy your old system to the new drive and be using the new drive in no time at all.OR buy this one and spend several hours(AND 30 BUCKS OR SO) transferring your old system to it.

> 3 dayThis has been a fantastic investment. I first installed it on a Dell workstation running Windows 7 in April of 2015 for data storage only. At that time it replaced a WD VelociRapter and dramatically improved my perception of computer speed. This year, I bought an Asus system and moved the SanDisk to it with no disruption and no problems with my data. After 20 months its still at 100% in the SanDisk SSD Dashboard.

> 3 dayUp until now I have found no issues. I used some disk-checking software and AS SSD Benchmark to test this drive. The result is quite good. But as we all know, the performance is not so important. As a data storage device the stability, reliance and durability are most important. As far as I know, this SSD uses MLC nand and Marvell controller chip and has an unbeatable 10-year warranty, which can resolve all my worries. That is why I choose Extreme Pro Series. That is why it is worth 5 star.

Greater than one weekI installed this as my C-drive on a new Levono I7 PC with 16MB RAM. I took out the original HDD with Windows 8 installed and put my own copy of Win 7 OS on this SSD along with my programs. My computer is SILENT and SO FAST!!! Like all SSDs this drive makes no sound at all (no moving parts) and requires no fan cooling. The only trouble I had was adapting its tiny size to the 3.5 bay in my tower PC, which is a mechanical problem. I love this drive!!!
