The SanDisk extreme pro was a great upgrade to my laptop. It has speed up boot times to less then 15 sec before that it took over 60 seconds or more to boot. Installing programs is lot faster than before. Going form 100mb to over 500mb read and writes speed up the computer a lot. Updating computer is a lot faster. Programs run a lot faster with a SSD. The drive is lot less fragile then a HDD. You do not have to worry as much if you accidently drop your computer about it breaking because it has no moving parts to break. This SSD is good for computer because it is durable for a laptop Because a laptop gets thrown around a lot . Over all the product works well in a laptop or tower because of how it not made of moving parts to break if you drop it. I have drop my lap top a few times and the drive still works. The program that you download to monitor it is good. It gives you a lot of info on your SSD. The product is good. Very high quality. Order came soon after ordering on this site. Have had good luck with product.

I was upgrading my 2011 Clevo P170HM 17 Gaming Laptop. It has the SATA connector only. This was the single most obvious and noticeable performance boost hands down! What Im saying is this, I maxed out the processor to an Intel Core i7 2960XM; Upgraded up to a Nvidia GeForce GTX 680M (the newest this older machine would accept); From 4 GB of RAM up to 32 GB of system RAM, and from Windows 7 up to Windows 10. After upgrading all of this I really couldnt tell any performance increase. Dont get me wrong Im very sure the performance potential did increase (I never did a before and after bench mark). Im just saying that the most noticeable and relatively cost effective upgrade (with out the need of a benchmark) was going from a Hard Drive up to a Solid State Drive! If you have a high end gaming rig or an entry level machine one of the best if not the best upgrade is a good SSD! Start up times went from 3 minutes + to less than 30 seconds,... no lie! Programs open so much faster. The system as a whole feels more responsive and snappier. You cant go wrong with this product. The most amazing thing about it all is the fact that SSD technology had improved to even faster drives than this one but this one is light years ahead of an old spinning Hard Drive. Two thumbs up from me!

To review the SSD itself, Ive had zero issues, its small, easy to mount, easy to install. To review the impact of having an SSD, It shortened my 2 minute boot times to around 3 seconds, I load into games insanely quick, and the SSD runs dead silent, unlike my previous HDD that was begging me for death.

Very happy with this drive. I recently converted an older Windows XP system over to Linux and I could tell that my hard drive was the choke point in performance. I managed to catch this beauty on sale for $120, and I was happily surprised to learn it came with a 10 year warranty - I guess that SSD drives have really improved their read/write cycle longevity. Anyhow, I moved my Linux install over to this drive and it truly flies now - faster boot time, and much faster application load times. Even Netflix desktop running under WINE works fast. I would recommend this as a boot drive for anyone. (Fantastic for compact home-theater PC builds) It also makes a great laptop/notebook drive, or to stick into an external USB drive case since their are no moving parts - much more drop resistant, requires less power, and generates less heat than a drive with a spinning platter.

Absolutely amazing, took my mid 2011 iMac running Mavericks from a boot time of over a minute to under 10 seconds with absolutely no lag. I cannot recommend it enough - the pro class is definitely the way to go with an SSD and the 10 year warranty is just the icing on the cake. It makes my old iMac feel like a totally different and new machine. With it more than 1/2 full (190 GB FREE), it still is clocking in at 380-410 MB/s read and write - definitely work the money.

Bought this to replace a cramp and aging (much more expensive at the time) OCZ Vertex 3 128GB on my personal rig. Although it isnt a move from conventional hard disk to SSD but I can clearly see the difference for my day to day computing and the occasional gaming. Boot up is clearly faster and smoother. I dont ever bother with benchmarks anymore as most good stuff are pretty well reviewed and I caught this at a bargain price. Very happy with my purchase.

Replaced old spinning drive in laptop, and now it runs like new and better!! Its been over a year with this SSD, and the laptop so continues to purr along with lickety quick response. Was very easy to replace.

    Greater than one week

I felt burned by Samsung and their 840 EVO SSD. Latest fix requires machine to be always on to make sure data is moved around -- to prevent read slowdown. And the slowdown isnt from 1 week old stale data -- so I dont know how review websites can rate the fix. In fact, the review sites were wrong the first time Samsung released a fix -- hence Samsung came out with yet another fix. Samsung does not want to support or provide a path to 840 PRO or 850 EVO/PRO line ... even if you are willing to pay the difference. Ive been extremely pleased with this SSD. Consistently fast.

I bought this drive to replace an aging Raptor drive which I feared was failing after 10 years of solid use. My Raptor drive was only 74 GB and was so heavily strapped with the excessive Windows 7 64 bit load, that I had to move all of my resource intense programs (Video Games) to a secondary drive. Even after doing this, every time a Windows update popped up, I would have to go through and make space on the drive for the computer to run properly. Out with the old and in with the new. I purchased this drive along with the Corsair 600Q quiet case with the hopes of cutting down on noise as well as improving operation. I had no desire to purchase a new Windows operating system so my plan was to backup the Raptor onto the SanDisk. My original plan was to achieve this by using the method of backing up to an external drive and then rebuild onto the new drive. I actually started down this path until I loaded the Dashboard program onto the drive. This is when I noticed that the drive came with a one time use drive transfer program. Rather than looking a gift horse in the mouth, I took at shot at using what was intended to be a simpler process. I have to admit that I was impressed at the ease of installation of the SanDisk drive with the provided software. I started up the program, answered a few basic questions, and hit execute. Thinking that there would be something else to do at this point, I waited for the next prompt. After a minute I felt pretty safe that the prompt was not coming so I headed off to mow the lawn thinking I had a few hours to kill. After about 30 minutes I came back in to find, much to my surprise, that it was more than 60% complete. Twenty minutes later, before I was done weed eating, the program was done. Power down, disconnect the Raptor, and reboot. My system started up immediately, just like it did before...with one exception, no more 10k RPM whine from the old Raptor drive. To date I am extremely happy with purchase and would strongly recommend the SanDisk Extreme PRO to any of my friends.

There is not a lot new here that I am going to be able to share, that many others have already shared in these reviews. This SanDisk Extreme Pro is currently the Performance favorite at the Toms Hardware website, and the reviews tell the deeper story. I have the 480 GB version of this drive, and I purchased it to use as my Operating System drive in a new Intel based Z97 Computer, and did not want to go with a PCIe X 4 M.2 Drive quite yet. Having already used the Samsung and Crucial SSD SATA drives in the recent past, I decided to read up and see if there was anything else new to research, and I came upon the reviews for this drive. Yes, the Samsung is a great SSD, and is faster in short data bursts, but if you are doing any heavy duty data transfer or processing, this is the SSD to go with. The SanDisk Extreme Pro will tear through large random data transfers and maintain high speed and not get bogged down. Using this SSD to load Windows 7 Pro for the first time was incredible due to a very short load and set up time. This SSD is a real powerhouse, and the 10 year warranty is pretty nice too. Very glad I purchased this, but I will be looking for a PCIe X 4 M.2 SSD to make things even faster. I want to see SanDisks entry into that Market, which I believe will explode soon.

SanDisk products are constructed to the good standards and rigorously tested. You can be confident in the good quality, performance and reliability of every SanDisk product.
