> 3 dayI installed this as my C-drive on a new Levono I7 PC with 16MB RAM. I took out the original HDD with Windows 8 installed and put my own copy of Win 7 OS on this SSD along with my programs. My computer is SILENT and SO FAST!!! Like all SSDs this drive makes no sound at all (no moving parts) and requires no fan cooling. The only trouble I had was adapting its tiny size to the 3.5 bay in my tower PC, which is a mechanical problem. I love this drive!!!

> 3 dayI originally bought this to see if it would be compatible with SanDisks Ready Cache software. (It isnt.) I have a 5930K based custom computer. Originally, it had a 1TB HDD with a 32 GB internal SSD cache, as well as a 32 GB external SSD Ready Cache. I still only got a 5.9 for the storage User Experience Index. I rebuilt the computer by replacing the HDD with this SSD, and moving the original HDD to the D: drive. The storage user experience index is now 7.9. My wifes laptop has a WD hybrid 120GB SSD plus 1TB HDD drive, and her storage user index is 7.8 When I rebuilt the computer, I started from scratch, and Windows 7 installed the fastest ever. The key was this SSD, and I loaded Windows from my Blu-Ray Writer. I have a lot of gadgets on my screen, and after I log in, they appear almost immediately. Ill be taking an FPGA programming class next year. I had one this past winter, and the software spent a lot of time reading and writing to disk. This will speed up the calculations immensely.

> 3 dayI had no idea just how much faster my computer would be with this hard drive. Its one thing to intellectually know the difference in speeds between a spinning platter and flash memory, but to actually experience it is something completely different. If you want to use it in a PC, you might want to get a mounting bracket to make it fit in a full size bay, as this is a 2.5 inch drive, but it should fit perfectly into a laptop drive bay. Also, a Google search on optimizing your OS for running on an SSD could serve you well. A modern OS does many things to improve traditional hard drive efficiency that will have no effect on an SSD, and might even use it up more quickly. Pro tip: Make sure you have plenty of RAM and then disable Virtual Memory. Or use a standard hard drive for Virtual Memory, but I prefer the first option.

> 3 dayAn amazing drive!, it gave new life to my good ol Macbook Pro Late 2011 w/8gb ram. Ive been using only for about 24 hours but here is the review: the drive is so fast that the computer feels faster than when it was new, I can even preview my 4K videos recorded from my phone and also fixed the photos app crash while trying to import a bunch of said videos. (it seems the old original drive was on borrowed time) The only downside of this drive, and the reason of the 4 stars instead of 5, is that the software to update the firmware is windows only, thus, not possible to use it on a mac (or linux for that matter).

> 3 daySanDisk has always had a reputation for quality products and this SSD is no exception. With the cost of SSD drives falling it is not hard to justify an upgrade if you are still using mechanical hard drives. This is a great price for a large capacity drive like this. I still use a mechanical drive for bulk storage, but all my programs run from this one, and you wont believe the difference in the response of your computer when you upgrade to a SSD. I have no problem recommending this drive, it is top-quality all the way.

> 3 dayTo review the SSD itself, Ive had zero issues, its small, easy to mount, easy to install. To review the impact of having an SSD, It shortened my 2 minute boot times to around 3 seconds, I load into games insanely quick, and the SSD runs dead silent, unlike my previous HDD that was begging me for death.

> 3 dayI purchased a new laptop and installed this drive. Its very fast- rebooting takes only seconds and I can quickly access any file on my system. Furthermore, transferring photos from a camera is much faster, particularly via USB 3.0. So far this drive has done everything Ive asked of it and has met my expectations in every way. While I have not pushed its durability (e.g. dropped the computer, etc.) I suspect it is much more resistant to damage than a traditional mechanical drive. I would recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their systems storage.

> 3 dayOk, you probably have read most the reviews for this product. So the only thing i would like to point out is, if you connect this SSD to a PC via a enclosure for the firs time, (at leas in my case, using ORICO 2588US3 USB 3.0 2.5 - inch SATA External Hard Drive HDD Case.), the drive will not be recognized at all, which is in contrast to what some of the reviewers commented on this product(it will show up in the windows as a hard disk ). What you have to do is (in Windows 8, Im sure for windows 7, it will be pretty much the same), go to control panel --> Administrative tools ---> computer management --> > Disk management, then you will be prompted to initialize the drive/disk. As I wasnt aware of this (i.e. initialization has to be done first) when I got the drive, I thought the disk was defective (I even took the drive to best buy to have it inspected, they thought so too). So I had to return to Amazon, asking for a replacement drive. I think the manufacture should have mentioned this step somewhere on the instructions manual sheet coming with the product. Thats why I took one star. Other than that, this drive itself is super fast. I cloned my existing hard disk (128 GB SSD ) in the laptop I just bought to this SSD drive, it took only less than 10 seconds (could be much less). A side note, Amazon makes the return REALLY easy. just print the shipping label provided by Amazon, you can either drop it off at UPS or have UPS pick it up. The replacement drive arrived even before they receive the drive Id returned. Speechless ! Thats SERVICE!

> 3 dayVery happy with this drive. I recently converted an older Windows XP system over to Linux and I could tell that my hard drive was the choke point in performance. I managed to catch this beauty on sale for $120, and I was happily surprised to learn it came with a 10 year warranty - I guess that SSD drives have really improved their read/write cycle longevity. Anyhow, I moved my Linux install over to this drive and it truly flies now - faster boot time, and much faster application load times. Even Netflix desktop running under WINE works fast. I would recommend this as a boot drive for anyone. (Fantastic for compact home-theater PC builds) It also makes a great laptop/notebook drive, or to stick into an external USB drive case since their are no moving parts - much more drop resistant, requires less power, and generates less heat than a drive with a spinning platter.

> 3 dayI purchased the SanDisk Extreme Pro SSD 2-3 years ago, not a single hiccup. I purchased my 2nd in November 2015. I even purchased an Extreme Pro USB! This drive is GOOD. My computer starts up fast and with a 10 year warranty this company has your BACK. As a computer tech, I see everything from dead HDDs (hard drives) to HDD overload. When a customer wants fast and sustaining, I give recommend this drive. I had a terrible experience with the Samsung 850 EVO so for anyone trying to pick from the two, this one is the easiest and most reliable. The speed isnt even a question. My computers start in under 7 seconds, with an update 15 seconds. Thank you SanDisk, I sell your products, I buy ONLY your products. For anyone serious about speeding up their computer and looking for a reliable solution. A bang for your buck, THIS is it.
