Let me start by saying i run this drive as the boot and holds most of my music that i listen to. It still shows 100% life remaining on the SanDisk dashboard. no problems with startups or shutdowns. i keep a battery backup on so no power drops. I bought this drive in 2015 and payed $350 new with 10 year warranty. here are the spec on my use from the dashboard. Power on hours : 23783 Power cycle count : 514 Program fail count : 0 Unexpected power loss count : 77 Temp : 82 F / 28 C Media Wearout Indicator : 0.71% ********* AMAZING ******** Available reserve space : 100 % Total GB Write : 8420 Total GB Read : 17438 Total GB NAND Write : 21876 Temp throttle status : on I keep the drive at about 50% full. If I go over 60% i usually swap some music to my Ultra II drive. Never a problem from that drive. In this day and age it nice t find a reliable and affordable drive.

I purchased this SSD to replace the HDD that came with my laptop. Using the free utilities to transfer all of the data from the computer was really quite easy and only took about 30 minutes (youll need to buy a USB 3.0 SATA III hard drive adaptor cable if you dont already have one). Once the data was transferred I was able to install the drive and it booted right up. Performance for my laptop has improved dramatically. After running benchmark tests between the HDD and SSD, the SSD read and write speeds are over 6 times faster than the HDD. The machine itself runs noticeably faster, quieter, cooler, and the battery life is much longer as well.

So far so good .... A NIGHTMARE to get your system copied to.... The ONLY company I know of that does not give you a way to copy your old system to it..... YOU MUST BUY SOFTWARE TO DO THAT!!! So be prepared to spend another 30 bucks. OR just use the extra 30 bucks to get a larger competitor drive(SAMSUNG) that will give you the resources to copy your old system to the new drive and be using the new drive in no time at all.OR buy this one and spend several hours(AND 30 BUCKS OR SO) transferring your old system to it.

I installed this as my C-drive on a new Levono I7 PC with 16MB RAM. I took out the original HDD with Windows 8 installed and put my own copy of Win 7 OS on this SSD along with my programs. My computer is SILENT and SO FAST!!! Like all SSDs this drive makes no sound at all (no moving parts) and requires no fan cooling. The only trouble I had was adapting its tiny size to the 3.5 bay in my tower PC, which is a mechanical problem. I love this drive!!!

SanDisk has always had a reputation for quality products and this SSD is no exception. With the cost of SSD drives falling it is not hard to justify an upgrade if you are still using mechanical hard drives. This is a great price for a large capacity drive like this. I still use a mechanical drive for bulk storage, but all my programs run from this one, and you wont believe the difference in the response of your computer when you upgrade to a SSD. I have no problem recommending this drive, it is top-quality all the way.

i7 Quad Core/ 16GB/ MacBook Pro early 2011. Has worked flawlessly. Apps like Mail and iPhoto that took 30/50 secs respectively to load (I have lots of mail and photos), now launch in 3/5 seconds. Used USB Sata cable and Carbon Copy Cloner to copy system to drive, swapped drives and everything worked, all licenses transferred (except Google Drive needed to be rebuilt). Speed tests (Blackmagic) Show average 515 MB/sec read and 435 MB/sec write. No degradation in speed from first test (a few weeks ago) till now. I think Apple tests their OS with flash drives, so as they increase the Input/Output read write counts when adding features/security protections, they dont notice the issues caused in systems with using hard disks. If you have Yosemite, you need a drive like this. Unfortunately, because apple doesnt support Trim for macs w/3rd party SSDs, you should also plan to replace your drive every year. I do upgrade my drive each year, as I need lots of speed and space. The last three were hybrid SSD/HDD (512MB Seagate/1TB Seagate/1TB Toshiba). The hybrids were slightly faster than a 7200 RPM disk initially, but after a year, each was slower than a stock clean 5400 RPM.

Pros: Fast read/write speeds, decently priced Cons: None When it comes to SSDs, there are manufacturers who use their own controller and there are ones who use third party controllers. SanDisk uses Marvell controllers, which are pretty popular. This SSD is built for performance with similar specs to the Samsung 850 Pro. The Samsung, however, uses its own controller, which you can argue is better because they have direct control over the components that go into the SSD, but you probably wont be able to really tell the difference during normal usage. At the time of this review, the Sandisk is $189 vs $217 for the Samsung. If youre looking for a primary SSD for your OS, this wouldnt be a bad choice. The Samsung 850 and 950 are also good, but they tend to be a bit more expensive with similar specs. Intel SSDs are also top of the line, and the price reflects that.

I used this in an IBM Thinkpad T530. Works very well. For me, I took out the dvd tray, slapped in a hard drive caddy with this ssd, then used MiniTool Partition Wizard Free Edition 9.1. In their software its an easy migrate to new HD/SSD button, hit apply, it reboots, and copies everything to the new drive. Then I replaced the hard drive with this ssd, put my dvd rom back in, and rebooted. With a desktop, just connect this to an empty SATA slot with the power cord, and run the same software. Windows 10 came back up without any issues. Easy and painless. Loving the additional speed and size. 10 year warranty gives me peace of mind.
