> 3 dayVery happy with this drive. I recently converted an older Windows XP system over to Linux and I could tell that my hard drive was the choke point in performance. I managed to catch this beauty on sale for $120, and I was happily surprised to learn it came with a 10 year warranty - I guess that SSD drives have really improved their read/write cycle longevity. Anyhow, I moved my Linux install over to this drive and it truly flies now - faster boot time, and much faster application load times. Even Netflix desktop running under WINE works fast. I would recommend this as a boot drive for anyone. (Fantastic for compact home-theater PC builds) It also makes a great laptop/notebook drive, or to stick into an external USB drive case since their are no moving parts - much more drop resistant, requires less power, and generates less heat than a drive with a spinning platter.

> 3 dayI had been contemplating replacing my 6 year old HP desktop. I use this machine primarily for photo editing. I bought it with a AMD Quad Core processor and over the years I had upgraded the RAM from 8GB to 12GB. But with all of the large, resource intensive programs I had on the machine, my start up time had deteriorated to about 4 mins with an additional 15-20 mins where it was unusable due to McAfee running its initial scans. Then I heard on a photography podcast about upgrading my boot drive to an SSD. After doing plenty of research I decided that rather than drop $1200-1500 on a new tower, Id give the SSD a shot for less than a third of that price. Worse comes to worse, I could always use the SSD in another device if I still needed to replace my machine. So I ordered the SanDisk Extreme Pro 960GB drive since I needed the space. I used Macrium Reflect to clone my boot drive over to the SSD. This did take about 12 hours since I was using an adapter cable and USB 2.0 connection. But once it was done, the installation was fairly simple. Bottom line, wow!!! What a difference. My boot time went from 4 mins to 40 secs and the unit was usable within a couple of mins after that. Now my Lightroom and Photoshop applications start up in less than a minute where it was taking several minutes each previously. Im thrilled with the results and would recommend this change highly to anyone having similar issues with their computer. I cant say how much better or worse this drive is compared to any other ones, but I can say it has done wonders for my desktop machine and I feel like I can squeeze another few years out of my HP.

> 3 dayFor a long time, I resisted the temptation of getting an SSD because they were expensive as well as occasionally unreliable. Finally I decided to treat myself, and I cant believe it but it actually makes such a huge difference - mainly in game loading times and even when opening a file explorer. Ive been using this for a few months now and its been great. Of course, I do wish I had more SSD storage, but this has served me well holding my OS and games. This SanDisk is really fast and has given me no troubles that some of the older SSDs allegedly had a few years ago. The drive was easy to install and get running.

> 3 dayVery happy with the speed and capacity, but Im having second thoughts regarding the price and what you get when compared to similar drives. Granted, I got it mostly because of the warranty and a hopefully better product to trust my data on, so thats what I was actually putting my money, not really on performance. Using it as a boot/home drive in a desktop with Linux and btrfs, there is no noticeable day-to-day difference when compared with a drive from the budget or OEM/enterprise series of SanDisk.

> 3 dayFast and reliable SSD with a 10-year warranty. Better than Samsung SSD in software as Samsung cloning does not support non-Samsung recovery partitions. So if you want to clone your disk to ssd and keep say a Sony revovery partition, the Sandisk comes with Acronis WD edition that supports cloning/resizing all partitions from source to destination drive. One note, that since it is a WD edition of Acronis, it will not install if it doeasnt detect Sandisk/WD drive. So make sure your external USB to SATA does not hide the name of the drive(like in Device manager) otherwise Acronis will not install. I had bought a Dugol enclosure that did that and it did not work with acronis. I had to use my old Rosewill enclosure to get it to work. After cloning my original disk to it, I installed the Sandisk Extreme pro in my Sony laptop and it worked flawlessly and it is very fast!

> 3 dayBeing my first SSD I have no complaints. Boot time for my windows 10 5 year old computer is about 50-52 seconds.Amazing difference in computer speed when you add an SSD. By adding an SSD you also lose the spinning sound of a traditional HDD which makes your computer much quieter. Adding an SSD to an older computer can be challenging and I had to do some research but it was worth every penny. Dont forget to download Sandisk SSD dashboard from their website after installing as it is a useful utility.

> 3 dayTo review the SSD itself, Ive had zero issues, its small, easy to mount, easy to install. To review the impact of having an SSD, It shortened my 2 minute boot times to around 3 seconds, I load into games insanely quick, and the SSD runs dead silent, unlike my previous HDD that was begging me for death.

> 3 dayHoly crap. I bought this out of desperation and hatred for my Late 2011 Macbook Pro. The thing has been a piece of junk since I bought it and even 3 apple stores have said that something is wrong because its so slow...but it passed all their tests...so nothing they could do. That MacBook took over 15 seconds to open any app...since the day I bought it. It could barely turn itself on. Bottom line: I read J. Perkins (posted 8/30/14) and Andrea Polks review (posted 8/17/14) and made this thing happen in so little time. I bought the harddrive, the Inateck 2.5 USB 3.0 external case (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FCLG65U/ref=ox_ya_os_product_refresh_T1) and cloned the whole Macbook harddrive. That took hours, I think 13 or so...but I had over 450GB on the HDD. I had to go to Home Depot and buy a small Torx bit screwdriver, because I didnt have a T6 (tiny). I looked up how to select the external (SSD) as my startup disk for the Macbook (have the computer ignore the installed drive on start up and load the OS from the external/SSD). The computer worked, was already faster so I decided to go for it. I took the back of the laptop off, carefully removed the hard drive and placed this SSD in there. I had to use a small furniture cushion as a spacer between the case and the drive to keep it secure but THEN... I started the computer, its super fast, opens every app within seconds (Ive actually started the computer and clicked every app at the bottom to watch it load up super fast). Totally worth it, honestly like a new computer. Ive since formatted the old Macbook hard drive, removed the mounting screws and its not installed in the inateck case as a 500GB external harddrive to store GoPro and pictures on. Wife = happy.

> 3 dayThe drive works great and is very fast, but a couple comments- It arrives unformatted so remember to first format it when installing it. Second if you want to register the drive with SanDisk write down the serial number before installing the drive. While the SanDisk web registration page says enter the Product Code it actually requires the serial number. I found this out after installing the drive and did want to then have to disassemble the computer. While some companies put the s/n on the box, SanDisk does not. Also no software is included and must be downloaded from the web. As is common these days, the installation instructions are skimpy and in very fine print. Four years later and it still works flawlessly.

> 3 dayLet me start by saying i run this drive as the boot and holds most of my music that i listen to. It still shows 100% life remaining on the SanDisk dashboard. no problems with startups or shutdowns. i keep a battery backup on so no power drops. I bought this drive in 2015 and payed $350 new with 10 year warranty. here are the spec on my use from the dashboard. Power on hours : 23783 Power cycle count : 514 Program fail count : 0 Unexpected power loss count : 77 Temp : 82 F / 28 C Media Wearout Indicator : 0.71% ********* AMAZING ******** Available reserve space : 100 % Total GB Write : 8420 Total GB Read : 17438 Total GB NAND Write : 21876 Temp throttle status : on I keep the drive at about 50% full. If I go over 60% i usually swap some music to my Ultra II drive. Never a problem from that drive. In this day and age it nice t find a reliable and affordable drive.
