> 3 dayThis is STUPID FAST!!! Had to get it for my new Dell Laptop. The new Inspiron 7000 series with the new 4K screen is very slim and sleek. Highly recommended if you are in the market for a new laptop. Only downside is the SSD drive I had in my old laptop is too thick. So kind of a bummer had to buy another SSD. Decided to go up to the 480KB from teh 256 Curcial Technology drive that I had. Great drive too, but this is a few notches above it. Windows 8 loads in 5 seconds flat on this thing. Absolutely nuts! The reviews seem to indicate this should be a solid performer and have great reliability. Time will tell on that end, but I can assure that the speed is there! Is it worth the extra $50 or so to upgrade form the Crucial? That I leave up to you, for me I would rather spend the extra money and know I am getting the best. But I have two Crucials and they have both performed admirably, just decided to try SanDisk this time based on the online review magazines. Highly recommended.

> 3 dayI had to add a third solid state since I had filled up the 500gb model I had with games and my main drive is only for windows. Its fast with a small footprint compared to the standard hard drives I used to use which is true of almost all solid states. Having a third drive did slow my boot time slightly but only enough to barely notice, compared to other computers it is a fast boot up. Its a good solid state drive and am happy with my purchase.

> 3 dayInstalled in my 10 year old HP (g72) laptop along with an upgraded CPU & 8gb RAM. It installed easily, cloned easily and has been working flawlessly for over 6 months. While my laptop has only a Sata II connection and cant use this SSDs full speed capabilities, it is still rocket fast & has brought this old girl up to speed with new computers! It comes with software to monitor and analyze it. A nice touch vs the Samsungs Ive used in other family laptops. This worked even with sata 1 speed connections and made s dramatic improvement in speed. In my HP Laptop this cut the start up time from almost 2 minutes down to under 30 seconds. After the ram & CPU upgrade Im at 20 seconds for start up time! SSDs are one of the easiest upgrade you can make & definitely the one upgrade which will give you the biggest speed bump! I would honestly recommend this even over Increased RAM because the impact is so dramatic on increasing the computers speed!

> 3 dayOk, you probably have read most the reviews for this product. So the only thing i would like to point out is, if you connect this SSD to a PC via a enclosure for the firs time, (at leas in my case, using ORICO 2588US3 USB 3.0 2.5 - inch SATA External Hard Drive HDD Case.), the drive will not be recognized at all, which is in contrast to what some of the reviewers commented on this product(it will show up in the windows as a hard disk ). What you have to do is (in Windows 8, Im sure for windows 7, it will be pretty much the same), go to control panel --> Administrative tools ---> computer management --> > Disk management, then you will be prompted to initialize the drive/disk. As I wasnt aware of this (i.e. initialization has to be done first) when I got the drive, I thought the disk was defective (I even took the drive to best buy to have it inspected, they thought so too). So I had to return to Amazon, asking for a replacement drive. I think the manufacture should have mentioned this step somewhere on the instructions manual sheet coming with the product. Thats why I took one star. Other than that, this drive itself is super fast. I cloned my existing hard disk (128 GB SSD ) in the laptop I just bought to this SSD drive, it took only less than 10 seconds (could be much less). A side note, Amazon makes the return REALLY easy. just print the shipping label provided by Amazon, you can either drop it off at UPS or have UPS pick it up. The replacement drive arrived even before they receive the drive Id returned. Speechless ! Thats SERVICE!

> 3 dayPut this in an older HP laptop and seems to be working well. This is the first SSD Ive used, so I cant comment on comparing it to other models or brands. Did a fresh install of Windows 7 Pro so cant really tell you how easy it would be for replacing/cloning your old OS. I CAN tell you the Windows Experience Score for the hard drive went from 4.5 to 7.6 after installing the drive, so it did increase performance. Just wish my laptop supported SATA 6 then this drive would probably run at full potential.

> 3 dayWorks flawlessly with my Gigabyte GA-Z97X 3 motherboard. Very quick load times (comparable to my old Samsung Pro 850 drive. I used Marcium Reflect to clone my existing spindle-based HDD to the SanDisk. So I cannot attest to the SanDisk cloning software that you can download from their website. For the price, this SSD is really a no brainer. Im very, very happy and plan to buy more for other machines in my office.

Greater than one weekI purchased the SanDisk Extreme Pro SSD 2-3 years ago, not a single hiccup. I purchased my 2nd in November 2015. I even purchased an Extreme Pro USB! This drive is GOOD. My computer starts up fast and with a 10 year warranty this company has your BACK. As a computer tech, I see everything from dead HDDs (hard drives) to HDD overload. When a customer wants fast and sustaining, I give recommend this drive. I had a terrible experience with the Samsung 850 EVO so for anyone trying to pick from the two, this one is the easiest and most reliable. The speed isnt even a question. My computers start in under 7 seconds, with an update 15 seconds. Thank you SanDisk, I sell your products, I buy ONLY your products. For anyone serious about speeding up their computer and looking for a reliable solution. A bang for your buck, THIS is it.

> 3 dayLet me start by saying i run this drive as the boot and holds most of my music that i listen to. It still shows 100% life remaining on the SanDisk dashboard. no problems with startups or shutdowns. i keep a battery backup on so no power drops. I bought this drive in 2015 and payed $350 new with 10 year warranty. here are the spec on my use from the dashboard. Power on hours : 23783 Power cycle count : 514 Program fail count : 0 Unexpected power loss count : 77 Temp : 82 F / 28 C Media Wearout Indicator : 0.71% ********* AMAZING ******** Available reserve space : 100 % Total GB Write : 8420 Total GB Read : 17438 Total GB NAND Write : 21876 Temp throttle status : on I keep the drive at about 50% full. If I go over 60% i usually swap some music to my Ultra II drive. Never a problem from that drive. In this day and age it nice t find a reliable and affordable drive.

> 3 dayUPDATE: After about a year, my new drive failed. My Mac would periodically grey screen after freezing ever since I installed this drive. In January it would grey screen a couple times a day. Actually what happened was that one window would freeze then eventually another and another and finally the entire screen would go grey, but the machine would track the mouse for a while longer. One day I noticed that I could not do an image backup and checking the logs it always failed on the same file: ta da! A read error on the disk was the only cause. I tried to access the file directly and it caused the freeze. The Extreme PRO had been causing the problem all along but had finally left a clue that showed it was the culprit. This was disappointing but the real fun occurred when I tried to fix it. First I downloaded a SMART utility to run on my mac and evaluate what was wrong. This was VERY difficult since it involved installing all kinds of packages on the Mac and actually compiling source code to install the linux utilities that scanned the SMART status. The SMART utilities showed that the drive had had about 20 bad blocks and thousands of power cycles - which I presumed was due to the Macs sleep function. I know that power cycles are bad for SSDs but I think I have the right to assume that a major manufacturer would have considered this. My first thought, as the SanDisk rep made in a comment to another bad review, was to upgrade the firmware. Unfortunately Im on a Mac and apparently SanDisk thinks Mac users dont matter, because their fancy SSD utility that updates the firmware only runs on windows. First I tried running it in a VirtualBox Windows machine, but it couldnt find the SSD. So I tried their process to build a flash drive image of their utility and after hours of trying I had to give up because the Mac would not boot from the flash drive, in all likelihood because the utility was designed for an older version of MacOS. I finally succeeded in burning an ISO to a CD with the Macs superdrive. Thank god my imac was old enough to have one! After nearly 12 hours of reading online knowledgebase notes, SanDisk support community postings and trying everything I could with my nearly 40 years of computer experience, I finally was was able to run the utility on the CD and update the Extreme Pro. By this time I was fuming at the waste of time, the poor attention to support materials, and the unmaintained utilities. Not to mention that one of the support articles said that OS X El Capitan was probably not compatible with the drive (ridiculous!) Once the firmware was updated, the drive started to work and has worked for the last few weeks without issue. However I no longer trust it. I would like SanDisk to replace it. However their return policy is ridiculous: you have to remove the drive from teh computer and take pictures of it and plead for a replacement, then wait while your drive is sent in and evaluated before they send you a new one. Once its out of the computer I cant run any tests on it, so theyll have to take my word for it but I bet they wont. And have you tried removing a hard drive from an iMac? Its a multi-hour procedure. Am I going to open the iMac twice to replace their drive when they send the replacement? Or, live without a computer for months while they decide what to do with my drive? Their support policies are ridiculous: Im going to have to buy another drive just to keep using my iMac while they fix my old one. OLD REVIEW: I replaced the hard drive in my 2011 iMac with this and it ZOOMS! I needed a kit from Otherworld Computing to do it (especially to get the screen off and adapt this drive to the Apple-specific connector.) Boot speed is up, used to take 2-3 minutes, now takes 20 seconds. The computer runs cooler too.
