> 3 dayUnlike some other brands SanDisk has never let me down. I am talking to you Samsung and Adata! I have 5 of these drives and 2 of their Ultra Plus drives in various builds with no complaints. Will they fail? Sure!! Eventually every drive does. My suggestion, dont use these for storage. Use it for your operating system. Turn off prefetch, superfetch, auto defragmentation and make sure TRIM is enabled in your BIOS. Im not going to explain all that, there are many videos out there that will be better at it than I would. Just be aware that SSD drives have a much smaller overwrite endurance capacity than a more traditional drive and to extend the life of the unit you want to minimize unnecessary writes. So far I am happy with these drives and SanDisk overall.

> 3 dayThis drive had operated nearly flawlessly since 2015 when I originally purchased it. Today 5/8/20 this has changed. I was using my PC normally, browsing on chrome when Windows crashed with a CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED bluescreen. Upon restart I was greeted with the dreaded NTLDR missing boot error. The next step was to throw a Windows 10 ISO in so I could try a repair. The repair utility saw the drive, and claimed it had a storage capacity of 0 bytes. Following this I attempted to read the drive using an external enclosure. The drive was not detected on multiple machines using this method. These series of events has lead me to the conclusion that the drive has died. No S.M.A.R.T. warnings provided. I checked the Sandisk SSD dashboard a week ago, and it claimed the drive was in good health. This failure has caused me to lose important data tied to my college classes, data which had not been around long enough for the backup window to kick in. This event has been a intense frustration all day, and now I am faced with trying to either find a way to restore the data, or start fresh without my files. For this reason, I cannot currently recommend this drive for long term usage. The only reason I am giving it two stars instead of one, is that while it was working, it was a well performing drive.

> 3 dayWorks great. I put one in my three year old bargain ASUS laptop and it made it into a whole new machine. Boots into Windows 10 in under 10 seconds. I put a second one in my five year old desktop computer and it has made it much faster. I was thinking I was going to have replace both computers as they were so slow, but with the SSD I figure I can keep using them for another year or maybe two before I am forced to upgrade them. Installation was easy in both computers and both seem to working well.

> 3 dayIm using this as an OS drive to speed up a system at a small business. I cant overstate how much snappier the machine feels with this SSD as opposed to the traditional plate drive it replaced. This drive has spoiled me and I will soon be forced to add one of these babies to every machine I have any contact with at the office. With the drop in SSD prices you really get a much larger bang for your buck by adding one of these as opposed to spending the same or more money on adding more RAM. If your system already has 4GBs of RAM or more and you have your OS on a platter-type spinning drive, this is the upgrade that will make you feel like you have a brand new computer. Couldnt be happier with the purchase. Cant believe I didnt do this sooner.

> 3 dayThis is a hard review to write for me as I like SanDisk products. I own lots of there micro SD cards with no complaints at all. Now having said that I have to really gig them for this SSD Drive, which I sent back. From the moment that I took it out of the box, which I though was empty, just saying, It felt cheap. The case was thin cheap plastic which I thought I could put my thumb threw if I pressed hard enough. As I already stated it was so light I though nothing was in it. Now just so you know that I know what Im talking about I own 7 SSD drives, 3 in my desktop computer, 1 in my HP laptop and 2 in my wifes desktop computer and a spare, all installed by me, so I know how they should feel. The other SSD drives I have purchased are Crucial and Corsair brands. This SanDisk SSD was for my old Sony VIO to sell at a garage sale. I figured I could get a better price for it with an SSD drive. Well it did not work out. The connections on the SanDisk were so flimsy that when it was plugged into the VIOs hard drive connection and the cover was placed back on it the drive would disconnect, no matter what I did I could not keep the drive connected and the connections were not broken. To make sure it was not my laptop causing the trouble I plugged in the spare 240gb Corsair SSD and it worked beautifully. So how do I sum up, its difficult because as I said SanDisk makes some very nice product, and maybe your mileage may be better if you buy this same drive, but I would suggest that you go with SanDisks Extreme Pro line of SSDs IMHO they are better made and have better speed then the Plus line of SSDs. For the bottom line, its your call on this drive, for me Ill spend the extra few bucks for a drive that your thumb wont go through. Another helpful review from the friendly Motorcycle Man

> 3 dayMy HP Dv7 series laptop needed a new drive at last, especially after upgrading to Win10, and I knew I was going to get a SSD style but was not certain of which brand. I have had very good luck with SanDisk products before so went with their 128 gb SSD drive. Since I only put the OS on the main drive and store everything on the secondary, I did not need more space. Basically, this is plug and play. I replaced the drive in very short order, inserted my OS disc and the speed at which everything loaded was impressive. I had no issues at all with either installation or performance and I am very pleased. As a bonus, my computer and the power adapter run much cooler as well. I would definitely recommend this brand for anyone needing a SSD.

16-11-2024WOAH. The SPEED. The awesomeness. Totally worth it! (240gb model) Ok. So this was my first SSD. I was reading online for the benefits of an SSD over the typical HDD. I wasnt too convinced Id see an everyday performance increase to justify the cost. I didnt need extra space, I just wanted improvement. I tried this out in a decently specd i5 Asus laptop of mine. It was fairly recent, but always felt sluggish. I was always frustrated and hated the damn thing (Ive done fresh installs on the old HDD and it was still slow). Then comes this SSD. Installed it. Reinstalled windows, all my apps, and VIOLA! Night and Day! Holy snap was I surprised. It felt like a whole new beast. Not only were my boot times almost instantaneous, everything just worked so much faster. Opening and closing apps. Multitasking. It brought new life into my laptop. I kid you not, I was thinking of getting a new laptop, thats how frustrated I was with it. I now enjoyed doing work on my laptop. I decided on the SanDisk because of the price and value it offered. It had great reviews and solid read/write speeds. Not the fastest, but still impressive. Made a huge difference for me. There are cheaper SSDs out there from brands I havent heard much about. Those typically have lower reviews and seem to have some recurring issues with customers. I played it safe, spent a few extra bucks and got a reputable product which I knew would work well. Summary: -I was hesitant of getting an SSD at first cause I didnt think it would help much. THIS DID WONDERS. -This is a great value in terms of GB to Dollar. -SanDisk is reputable and has great customer satisfaction Overall, I recommend getting this SSD. Sure there are faster models out there which offer slightly faster boot and read/write speeds. Do you really need that? I didnt and probably wouldnt notice it. This is a great price for a fantastic product. Saved me from buying a new laptop and going crazy.

> 3 dayThis is the little SSD that could... I bought this drive expecting disaster... but was pleasantly surprised by its real time performance. Lets talk about entry level SSD drives. You buy an entry level SSD for these reasons a) save money b) the programs you will be running are browsing, office software and light gaming c) you want a fast boot into Windows 10.. averaging 10 seconds. d) the drive is mainly for HDTV use Even if you add this drive to an older board (even something with DDR2 and Sata II).. your boot will be in 12-14 seconds. Just understand ONE main principle of the controller on this drive. After it exceeds the fast cashe of 4 GB.. the drive will slow down. If you fill the drive past 80% it will slow down. This means if you are a developer, coder or heavy gamer, select a more advanced model or brand of SSD. Finally... the drive has the equivalent weight of a large goose feather and can be attached to the inside of a case using double-sided mounting adhesive.

> 3 dayGot this on sale a few months ago. Worked great for a while, really helped speed up one of my old desktops. It started acting up about a week ago with read/write errors causing me to have to restart multiple times to get the the OS to boot. Now its completely stopped working. Had to go back to my old HD after spending 2hrs trying to get this SSD to boot again this morning. Overall this has pretty decent reviews but next time Ill spend a little more on a higher quality drive. **Update - I wanted to revise my previous review as it turns out the problems I was having were from a failing power supply and not this HD. Installed a new power supply and is working fine again so Im happy with this purchase.

> 3 dayI installed this SSD in my laptop for my operating system and I have a 1TB hard drive for my data storage. My system (Windows 7) boots up in 20 seconds! This is super fast. With Hibernate disabled and the page file moved to the HDD, the whole Windows 7 only takes up about 30 GB. This is more than enough room for my programs. The SSD was really easy to install and I installed it in my Acer Aspire E5-573G-52G3 laptop and now it is a beast. It doesnt make any noise and it uses little power. If your computer is slow booting up, buy this SSD and use it for your primary operating system drive and use a HDD for your secondary drive you use to store files on. If your computer has a free SATA port, this would make a huge difference. Even if you have to remove your DVD drive, that is fine, an SSD is better than a DVD drive. Plus, just buy an external DVD drive for about 20-30 dollars and you will have a nice computer. In all, this is a good price for an SSD that will make your computer and programs start much faster. Browsers now load instantly!
