Even though i purchased this product to be coupled with a 1tb Seagate drive that never came, this SSD alone has been a driving force in both its temporary home and its now permanent home. No full speed test were done on this drive on its initial installation, test will be done in its new housing soon which I will post soon. Test or no test however, over the last 5 months with this SSD has been wonderful and have give two computers new life that otherwise would feel sluggish and slow. This SSD isnt much of a match for the likes of the 850 evo pros; however, for an entry level priced SSD, this bad boy takes the cake in my eyes and will be a definite repurchase for other future builds and upgrades I will be doing.

Im rating this as 5 stars based on my needs and the SSDs performance. Not saying it will be your nirvana. This is my second purchase of this item. I installed the first one in my daughters old Dell laptop. On its best days it would crawl. Cloned the OS installed this SSD and BAM! it was a new machine. I was impressed enough to get one for the Boss (read wife) who was complaining about the long boot time. Again, clone and install. Now the Boss is happy, and if the Boss is happy, everybodys happy. Good price, good performance, plug and play. If youre not looking to turn your computer into a Cray, youll probably like this.

This SSD may be the old style and have slower speeds than the newer models, but it was not intended for a production photo or video editing machine where that is critically important. This SSD replaced the factory hard drive in my sisters computer. She writes stories in her word processor, manages her email, browses the Internet, and plays some Facebook games. For the typical user such as her, this SSD is fabulous. The factory hard drive had a 3GB connection to the computer, while this SSD links up at the maximum speed of 6GB. Plus, being a solid state drive, there are no spinning disks and search lag times. My sister does not understand all the technical stuff. What she experiences are the lightning speed boot ups and program launches. Replacing the 5 year old drive in her computer with this one made it run better than it ever did. She absolutely loves her computer now.

Purchase this item since it has went down in price from hundred of dollars to $64.99, now $61.95, making it an excellent deal. At least it is cheaper than waiting for my hard drive to breakdown. Went to see how much a professional would charge to install it and clone my old disk drive, since I have never clone a hard drive before, and they want $150 to install and clone the old hard drive. As such I decided to do it myself. The installation was easy. I downloaded the free cloning software from that is mentioned in the FAQ section for this product here on Amazon. I connect the

This product works great. All the benefits of a SSD are realized, including super fast Windows boot times. My PC only supports SATA3, and this drive is backwards compatible with the older SATA. Highly recommend a SSD to bring life to an older PC. I tried the SanDisk clone utility software after downloading and installing it, but, it was cumbersome. Since I was moving from a Western Digital disk to this SanDisk, I downloaded and used the free Western Digital cloning software instead, which worked great and is easy to use with a Wizard function to walk you thru the steps. You have to have a WD disk on your system to use this software.

I purchased this to upgrade a circa 2011 Toshiba Satellite which was expensive at the time but had become uncomfortably slow with to the original HDD. The laptop would take a few minutes to boot and the drive was pegged during any application launch. Resource monitor showed disk latency hovering in the 1000s and queue lengths over 50. In short, after logon and you had to start up your apps and walk away until it calmed down. CPU and memory usage were fine so this was clearly an IOPS problem. For under $70 I used this 240 GB SSD to turn the laptop into what feels like a new device. I had a copy of Acronis on a desktop so I used that to clone the partitions from the laptop HDD to the new SSD. Everything worked as expected and its like a new laptop now.

Bought this on sale for $65 to speed up my sluggish Toshiba L15W-B1302 laptop. Was going to do a straight clone of the 500gig 5400 rpm HDD, but opted to do a clean install of Windows 10 via the Microsoft Media Creation tool and an 8 gig thumb drive instead. Which now I have a $10 SATA USB connection cable for no reason. (Changed my mind on the cloning mid-shipment). Everything went smooth w/ Installation of Windows 10. Most of the night spent downloading updates, Steam games, 18 gigs of pictures off the cloud, 10 gigs of music and misc from a memory card transfer. The SSD is a beast compared to the original HDD. Boot up went from around 90 seconds to up and ready to use in 20-25 seconds easy. Apps and Software load up in a snap and saving files feels like I have blazing speed internet. EXTREMELY happy with this purchase. Plan on getting an enclosure for the original HDD and using it for a portable backup/storage.

I bought 2 of these and used them to clone my wifes and my laptop hard drives so we could use the cloned drives to install the free Windows 10 upgrade and still have Windows 7 hard drives to go back to if we didnt like Windows 10. They worked great for that and these 240 GB drives have enough space for Win 10 and all the programs we need to run. My wife doesnt have a lot of other things stored on her computer so it was big enough for all her needs. I have terabytes of pictures, home movies and videos stored on a second 2 TB internal HD in my laptop and several USB HDs so the 240 GBs was plenty for my system drive. I would recommend these to anyone who needs a fast system drive without a large amount of on board storage.

Second time buying a SanDisk SSD. First one being for myself and this second one for my younger brother. Its a very good SSD and does its job well. This replaced a 500GB Seagate Barracuda as a boot drive in my younger brothers PC and paired with Windows 8.1 Pro, the darn thing boots up well before we get the monitors to turn on from a cold start. Its very good at being an SSD. I dont want to get super technical with the specs, but based on the hardware in the SSD, it stands up well to other competitors from Crucial, Samsung, ADATA, etc. The nandflash seems to read and write well, but I havent gone into in depth testing with the SSD, however from everyday use, the drive is speedy and doesnt miss a beat. Overall, Id say that this SSD is a great buy and very competitive for the market that it is in.
