> 3 dayOverall I am very pleased with this Sandisk SSD. I had previously purchased other brands of SSDs for my personal machines, but a family members hard drive failed in their MacBook, and I decided a SSD fit the bill for a replacement. This particular user hardly uses any disk space. Their old stock drive was less than 25% full, and it was a 200GB drive. So I recommended this SSD, ordered it, and installed it. The user is extremely pleased with is performance. It used to take their Mac over a minute to start, but now it boots in 16 seconds flat. And when it is on and being used, the Macbook flies right along. It was an amazing speed boost. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

> 3 dayFirst time using Sandisk SSD, Unfortunately Sandisk SSD dashboard is not compatible to Win XP OS. So I removed my Samsung 840 Evo SSD from my Lenovo S10-3 Win 7 and tried installing the Sandisk SSD Dashboard there but the display resolution is not compatible as it requires minimum 1024X768 while the Lenovo S10-3 is 1024X600. Very surprised though as the Samsung Magician software still runs on the Lenovo S10-3. Anyway, currently I used EaseUS Todo Back-up free to clone my Win XP machine to the Sandisk SSD and tune the machine to be SSD optimize. I downloaded Sandisk SSD toolkit on my XP machine but it did not recognize the Sandisk SSD PLUS installed. Oh well, I probably switch over one of my Samsung 850 EVO SSD from my MSI Win 7 machine to the XP machine and use the Sandisk SSD PLUS on it. At least if Sandisk has home built cloning software such as Samsung Migrate and Samsung Magician on CD (rather that downloading it), this will ease the user installation experience

> 3 dayThis drive had operated nearly flawlessly since 2015 when I originally purchased it. Today 5/8/20 this has changed. I was using my PC normally, browsing on chrome when Windows crashed with a CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED bluescreen. Upon restart I was greeted with the dreaded NTLDR missing boot error. The next step was to throw a Windows 10 ISO in so I could try a repair. The repair utility saw the drive, and claimed it had a storage capacity of 0 bytes. Following this I attempted to read the drive using an external enclosure. The drive was not detected on multiple machines using this method. These series of events has lead me to the conclusion that the drive has died. No S.M.A.R.T. warnings provided. I checked the Sandisk SSD dashboard a week ago, and it claimed the drive was in good health. This failure has caused me to lose important data tied to my college classes, data which had not been around long enough for the backup window to kick in. This event has been a intense frustration all day, and now I am faced with trying to either find a way to restore the data, or start fresh without my files. For this reason, I cannot currently recommend this drive for long term usage. The only reason I am giving it two stars instead of one, is that while it was working, it was a well performing drive.

> 3 dayI recommend a backup of files, and a fresh install of windows. Use your old HDD for storage and installation of less used programs. If you decide to use this for anything, it should be that you make this your primary drive and install your OS on it. I went from about 120 seconds boot up time to about 20 seconds to a full desktop. Google, SSD vs HDD and you will hit the buy now button. I must tell you, If you have HDD and want to try SSD, buy this and nothing less. More would be better. I quickly filled this up with windows 10 and a few origin games (bf4 ect..). The speed is amazing. I will NEVER use an HDD as my primary EVER again. You should too... Cant wait till 4 tb of this thing is for sale @$100. 10 years ago HDD came with 250gb now 1tb is the standard. my entire pc is faster. EVERYTHING is fast. No joke, even software installed on my secondary HDD is faster. Its as if my ram responds quicker. Hard drives are holding you back. My Rig FX 8350- R9 270X - GSkill ram- the rest is irrelevant.

Hey Vin
> 3 dayI got this as a replacement for a hybrid SSHD (which is part SSD, part spinning hard drive) in my 13 2009 MacBook Pro. Compared to the hybrid drive and the regular hard drive (HDD) that I had in the MacBook Pro before the SSHD, there is a noticeable speed increase when launching apps. To my surprise, however, boot-up speed is only slightly improved from the SSHD, which is a little disappointing. Heres the thing though... if you compare the read / write specs of this drive to the newer Samsung SSDs, and such, youll note that this drive is a bit behind, but really, you need to take three things into account: *1)* What youre paying (probably significantly less for this SanDisk, vs. a Samsung) *2)* The fact that its a SanDisk (which is better than a no-name brand, at least) ---and, most significantly--- *3)* The fact that you might be installing this drive into a machine that might not be able to support the max read / write speeds of the newer Samsung SSDs *anyway* So, for the above reasons - in addition to the problem-free install experience - I am giving this item five stars.

Greater than one weekI have several of these and they have all proven to be excellent performers. The latest acquisition was added to an aging Dell Vostro Slim that I use for video capture and editing. The hard drive that it replaced became the storage drive for the machine. The reason for the replacement was that the original hard drive would have spells of high activity resulting in annoying delays during editing. The Dell doesnt have advanced SATA so the actual SSD performance measurements are not representative of the drives capabilities. The notable point is that the editing delays are gone and I have a high performance SSD for the next machine when needed. If you have an aging desktop or laptop that can handle SATA this SSD will improve your performance significantly. I have added SSDs to an older Toshiba and a HP/Compaq with excellent performance improvements.

> 3 dayThis drive is working like a charm, and even better, SanDisk technical support is the reason why! I opened a chat with them because my computer wasnt recognizing the disk, and they walked me through that, and then I described my situation to them - 120 GB internal drive and want to use part of the new 240 to back up and part for storage. They suggested I swap the drives, and walked me through the whole process!! This disk includes a one time use download of cloning software, and they told me how to use it, and stayed on the line with me until all that was left to do was actually cloning the drive, which takes some time. It worked like a DREAM. I used ifixit.com to find out how to swap out the drive and Im good to go!!

> 3 day(*Update* 9/11/2016 I was able to get the computer back up after all. The only way to get the system to load is by bypassing driver verification. I had someone suggest that the windows backup was corrupted by the first crash. No way to know but oh well. (*Update* 9/7/2016 Well, the darn thing worked for a couple of months and now the computer wont boot again. Just before the loading screen on Windows 7 it auto reboots. I have tried restoring the computer to a previous restore point, cant access safe mode, and am finding the problem may be related to the SSD itself. Im tempted to go buy a different brand of SSD and try a restore on it to make sure its the SanDisk. Ive never had issues like this on other computers using other brands of hard drives. Until I prove it isnt the SanDisk SSD it gets a star axing down to 1 star.) Original - This was installed as a fast-boot drive for my wifes school/gaming computer. After 6 months of normal use my wife got an error on her computer stating that the hard drive had corrupted sectors and errors on it along with an error that said the version of windows was no longer verifiable. Essentially, the C dirve (SanDisk) had died. We attempted to back it up but it wouldnt backup any of it. I cant get it to work even on a separate device. Im thoroughly surprised that this would stop working like it did, in such a short time. Especially after reading all of the positive reviews and knowing SanDisks reputation. I personally am using a much cheaper SSD as a boot drive and have experienced no problems (knock on wood.) So I dont think its a surge problem or anything like that. At this time I would no longer recommend this product. *Update* Shortly after writing this review I decided to check the negative reviews to see if anyone had experienced a similar problem to mine and had any solutions to it. Turns out, a manufacturer had responded to someone elses SSD that had died like mine and left a number to contact. SanDisk has told me that they will replace the SSD because it is under warranty. As of now, Im awaiting to receive the new SSD before changing this review. *Update* 7/29/2016 So we received the replacement for the SSD yesterday and installed it. It seems to be working well. Our experience with the company was actually fairly decent. They were polite, ensured us that we would receive a replacement once they determined that the SSD was faulty, and have come through on their word. For this particular part of our SanDisk experience: The Cons -Our restored Windows 7 now has a corrupt file and claims we are not running a genuine version of windows (which is an annoying issue in itself.) -My Wife has had no access to her school-notes during the wait time it took to receive the new SSD (roughly one week.) -No data recovery offered or seemingly avail. -Have to turn in the old SSD for a new one, losing any ability to one day recover the data on the SSD Pros -SanDisk stood by their warranty and sent a replacement SSD with a fairly simple process to claim a return. -The new SanDisk SSD is installed and working. Since SanDisk sent a replacement and stayed true to their warranty Ive bumped the rating to 3 stars. Thank you SanDisk customer service for standing by your policy.

> 3 daySUPER FAST!!!! My laptop is like the Millennium Falcon jumping into hyperspace after smelling some cocaine, dropping a hit of LSD, popping some speed, drinking a 5 Hour Energy, smelling a little more cocaine and chasing it all with a Red Bull followed by a Monster and Mt. Dew.... Then it happens... Blue screen of death. I dont think its the hardware, I think its where the cloning software didnt do right & I had to make a fresh Win7x64Pro install. The code says conflicting drivers & fixing that is WAY beyond my abilities. When that gets repaired, this SSD will be doing the job PERFECTLY. I am running it at 75-85% capacity and theres no issues with speed or temperature. Battery life extended by about 30% longer due to the SSDs lower consumption. Performance index is now based on my lowest score which is the laptop graphics. No biggie, its a laptop that I use for home recording. Once it stops crashing, Ill see how all of that runs.
