> 3 dayOverall I am very pleased with this Sandisk SSD. I had previously purchased other brands of SSDs for my personal machines, but a family members hard drive failed in their MacBook, and I decided a SSD fit the bill for a replacement. This particular user hardly uses any disk space. Their old stock drive was less than 25% full, and it was a 200GB drive. So I recommended this SSD, ordered it, and installed it. The user is extremely pleased with is performance. It used to take their Mac over a minute to start, but now it boots in 16 seconds flat. And when it is on and being used, the Macbook flies right along. It was an amazing speed boost. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

> 3 dayIf you need more space, this product has serviced me from 2016 to current date. I have added more but this was definitely a solid stepping stone for me having more space to contain more files, photos, documents, music, videos, games and more! You can probably get alot more mileage from this if youre looking to store photos. videos and documents!

> 3 dayTo start off, I am not techy and just got advice from co-workers and friends on how to revive my 5 year old laptop. The start-ups lagged and programs were slow to boot up. Instead of buying a new laptop, some people suggested to try swap to a SSD. I was apprehensive at first, but with a little on-line research and youtube, I was able to figure out how to do the swap. ITS PLUG AND PLAY!!!! The SanDisk SSD drive slid right into the slot where my old hard drive was and thats it. After reinstalling my OS and programs, my Laptop has a new life!!!! Why spend $$$$$ on a new laptop when I got this for a fraction of the cost and works like a champ! From boot-up to program launches, it is like night and day. Super fast and smooth start-up. I recommend this to anyone with a slightly older laptop and having the same lag issues. Like I said, I am not a computer person, but was able to revive my laptop and super happy with the new performance. Slim design seems to fit most laptop hard drive spaces, although check with your specific model.

> 3 daydoes 380mb read/write, no problems yet UPDATE: a year and a half later and its dead, tried on 3 computers, wont even show up on bios, and it kinda freezes the boot process, I kept it barely used for around half its life and then running everyday at around 30-50º C on a htpc, if it lasted at least 3-4 years it would still be fine but damn less than 2 years is just unacceptable, while my older 850 evo still as good as new UPDATE2: well the RMA went well, a couple weeks later they sent me a sealed retail unit, if it also lasts 2 years I would still consider it 5 stars thanks to their service, would definitely buy again, it was probably 1 out of 10 bad drives

Greater than one weekTook me several tries to get it to even take windows 7. I downloaded the dashboard from sandisk but was not compatable with my current computer? LOL running win7ultimate on 2 year old custom built. So had to get out an old computer to and finally got it to work. Put it in my wifes laptop with hopes of it being faster than the standard hard drive. Results: Not a noticeable increase in speed. Battery life dropped way off. Battery hog. She just runs the system with power cord attached now. Would probably not buy another till I was satisfied it will perform as promised. But for a cheap ssd, was ok I guess

> 3 dayBrilliantly fast. I have it installed as my primary SSD on my desktop to replace the worn out old 5200 RPM HDD. My earlier boot time while running windows 7 was about 45 seconds . With this installed the boot time has reduced to about 15 seconds . I runs quiet and though deceivingly lightweight is well constructed.I havent done any read /write tests to validate the claims. However, on the basis of its functionality for the last 2 weeks I can safely say that it works well I bought the 250 GB and the memory is ample enough for the programs that i have installed and running. The programs that I am currently running on my computer are: Windows 7 pro Microsoft office 2013 Adobe professional XI Chem Draw 2 Adobe Indesign C Cleaner Skype VLC player Opera browser 10GB worth of movies and Music 4 GB worth of various books I have still about 100 GB left on my hard drive . I am so far pleased with its functionality . My comp specs are AMD Phenom processor ,8GB DDR3 RAM, NVIDIA GeFORCE graphics card. If you are planning on using the SSD for heavy word processing and occasional games and entertainment, I would gladly ask you to go for it For the price it is a very good investment/upgrade for your system.

> 3 dayThis is everything you want in an SSD at the right price. Its incredibly quick, boots like lightning, and (obviously) silent. The key caveat here is that it does NOT come with imaging/cloning software. Now, if you already have that software, or you know what youre doing? Youre going to have no problems. But if you dont really know what youre doing, and youre looking to transfer over a windows install, youre going to have to find some software to get the job done (and know how to use it...). Thats actually an important point (that is rather casually omitted). But there is no questioning this drives efficacy, especially at the price. Just know what you (arent) getting.

> 3 dayThis SSD may be the old style and have slower speeds than the newer models, but it was not intended for a production photo or video editing machine where that is critically important. This SSD replaced the factory hard drive in my sisters computer. She writes stories in her word processor, manages her email, browses the Internet, and plays some Facebook games. For the typical user such as her, this SSD is fabulous. The factory hard drive had a 3GB connection to the computer, while this SSD links up at the maximum speed of 6GB. Plus, being a solid state drive, there are no spinning disks and search lag times. My sister does not understand all the technical stuff. What she experiences are the lightning speed boot ups and program launches. Replacing the 5 year old drive in her computer with this one made it run better than it ever did. She absolutely loves her computer now.

Greater than one weekUpdate 2-2018 The SSD finally stopped working. Im surprised because the only other SSDs that failed on me were questionable used SSDs. I think there has been only 1 or 2 HDDs that failed on me in my lifetime so this is rare. Sad to see it go but thank god I had things backed up. Update 1 My review wasnt on just the fact it used plastic for the SSD case. Plastic are perfectly fine material. My issue was with how weak/brittle it felt in my hands, how it wasnt machined together tightly. Just wanted to note that if you thought I was taking stars just because the use of plastic. Ive had a little time with the SSD and honestly its been what you can expect from a SSD. Its much faster than a 5400RPM drive youll find in most laptops. Thats about it though. For general use I felt no speedups and felt no slow downs compared to the previous SSD used (Micron M500 120GB) which was a slower drive in general as far as specifications go. So for general use current SATA III SSDs speeds dont really matter unless were speaking of the 4K speeds. In this case what makes an SSD a good deal then? Price vs Capacity and then the durability/longevity. Price vs Capacity = Good since I bought it for $59.99. $59.99/240 = .25 Cents/Gigabyte. For $69.99 or more? No, at that price I think its price/capacity ratio is no longer good for the speed/quality of the SSD. I cant review what came with the SSD since I bought the bare bones drive which is another reason why the drive is cheap. That leaves longevity which is probably #1 for me and electronics. I cant say much. Time hasnt passed enough yet and we cant review that on any product until something happens, or doesnt happen for several years. Ill give it to Sandisk for providing the most spacious SSDs for the money recently with their Ultra II 480GB/960GB and the Plus 240GB. If it can last through out the warranty coverage without issues this deserves 4 stars, and past the warranty a bit maybe even 5 stars. But until then 3 stars is what I would give since its nothing special. CrystalDiskMark numbers and screens coming soon, and maybe a few comparisons to the SSDs I still have with me (850 Evo, Micron M500, Intel 530, Intel 520, Intel 525, ADATA SP920) though they are various sizes. Original Review I wasnt expecting much from a cheap 240gb SSD, but man the quality of the physical SSD casing is low. Ive tried various SSDs from Intel, Samsung, OCZ, Kingston, Micron, Crucial, A data, PNY, Corsair, Toshiba etc but this Sandisk here was the lightest, flex, cheap plastic casing Ive seen. I get cheaper SSDs and their lower speeds (especially write) but sacrificing physical quality too much. Ill update the review after testing the SSD for speed benchmarks, and then again after a few months/year if any problem occurs

> 3 dayI ordered this hard drive to replace a failed 5200 rpm drive in my netbook. My HP DM1Z is about 4 year old and is connected to my TV to assess content like you tube and amazon instant videos that my 6 year old Samsung TV does not support anymore. It was really easy to install with included spacer to accommodate this thinner drive and I was able to put on my windows 7 ISO without any problem. I would say that I do not use this computer as some of the other people, but I am completely satisfied with performance of this drive and would not hesitate to recommend or use in my other systems.
