> 24 hourUsed according to directions, Purigen is a SILVER BULLET for tannin-stained water. And you know that if it can strain out something as fine as tannin, its pulling out all kinds of other nastys too. And the fact that you can sterilize and re-charge it is just the icing on the cake. Purigen is a revolutionary product. Bravo Seachem!

> 24 hourThis product is amazing. It delivers on all of its statements. It makes the water absolutely crystal clear and drops the ammonia levels tremendously while balancing the tank. Customer for life. I will definitely be purchasing these when needed in the future. I highly recommend this product to all aquarium enthusiasts.

> 24 hourThis stuff is great, but just know if you select the 500 ml size you will also need to buy their bag or one that is 180 micron or less. Has to be a very fine bag, like the one Seachem will sell to you. Just one complaint, misleading as the smaller sizes come with the bag. I still give it 5 starts since there isnt anything out there like it that I know of that can polish your aquarium water any better.

> 24 hourWhen it comes to keeping excess nutrients and other not so great stuff under control, we as Marine Aquarists do our best, but at times things just get away from us. I consider Purigen to be my chemical balance insurance policy. It wont do much if your salinity is out of whack, granted, but as far as phosphates or other nasties, itll do so much better than carbon ever could. And, if you trust yourself to treat it properly, after the grains have gone from white to very brown/black, you can bring it back to life with a chlorine soak and then a chlorine neutralizer. But then, at 1 bag per 100 gallons, and $9 (my local fish store wants $12) and Prime shipping, why not just get new and remove the risk of chlorinating your fishy friends? If youre on the fence, try it, you certainly wont regret it and it really cant hurt anything.

> 24 hourPosted before and 24-48 hours after using the product. I guess I could say it def clears the water. Only thing floating is an air bubble, food, or fish poop. Ill post and edit to my review once I can clean the filter again to see how much the media has exhausted and changed color. So far so good though. Its affordable. Has many benefits and boast ability to remove impurities in water undetectable by human eye. I dont test water. So I am going by the activity in growth of my Java moss and happiness in fish. So far so good.

> 24 hourThis is my second time using Seachem Purigen.I use it in my Sun Sun canister filter and have never seen a better product. My water has never been clearer, and the bonus is you dont need any net bags for it.It comes in a rechargeable bag which is a plus, easy to use and easier on my bank account.I wish I would have used this product earlier.I can also go a lot longer in between tank cleaning maintenance. I purchased the 100ml.bag both times because of the ready to use bag it comes in and It was enough for my big Sun Sun canister tray which I put in the top tray, one half of the top tray carbon and the other half the Seachem Purigen. If you are looking at this product, dont hesitate, buy it,You will not be disappointed. My fish and I give this product a big thumbs up.☺

> 24 hourThis stuff is amazing. I have put driftwood in a tank without boiling it or anything else to remove the tannins and the water goes from the color of tea to perfectly clear in hours to days depending on tank size, clarity and water movement. It is a stunning difference, the fish almost look like they are floating in the air when you use this and it dont cause any issues. If you do aquascaping using driftwood or anything that changes the color of your water, this stuff will remove it 100%. It also has excellent nitrite/nitrate removing abilities with so much surface area for good bacteria. Just put it in any filter that has room. It just has to have water moving around it to work best but water does not have to pass through it like a normal filter to remove tannin, nitrite/nitrates. It absorbs them but does not have much impact on good minerals and other essentials.I use it in my 5 tanks from 10 gallons up to 60 gallons, in both canister and hanging filters. Just place it with other filter media you use. You will be amazed. I have tried a few other high end methods but for $8 this does it better than anything else I have tried by a long shot. It is cheap, lasts for months and you can just clean it (they provide instructions) and use it again and again. It is so cheap I just buy another bag as needed ever 3 to 6 months.

> 24 hourI bought this because it was recommended for correcting color quality. I have a 55 gallon freshwater tank, running a fluval filter. The filter keeps the water clear, but they are do nothing for stained water. Among fish forums, it seems that fluval filters are known for becoming easily stained - though I have found no consensus regarding what causes the stain, whether driftwood or coloring in food or whatever. The stained filters seem to perpetuate the cycle of staining the water. I added this small seachem packet to my existing filter setup. There is a single bag, placed directly over one of the fluval filters existing charcoal bags. I dont need it for filtration purposes - just to correct the water color. I cant speak for how well it works as a filter, but the color is excellent. Less then 24 hours after adding it, my water remains clear (filter still seems to be running optimally, even with the added packet), my fish (and amphibians) show absolutely no distress, and the staining is completely gone.

> 24 hourIf you want clear, clean water in your tank, buy this. Ive been using Purigen since I started my planted tank. It keeps the water crystal clear and keeps all my water values in the sweet spot. I dont use carbon in my tank. This does what carbon does for water clarity, but better. It will not neutralize certain chemicals or remove medications from your tank, so carbon still has its place in some situations. You can regenerate these by soaking in bleach and then using Prime to neutralize. It takes 48 hours for the process, but you can reuse it over and over - something like 6 times or more. The process isnt too bad. But Ive decided to bite the bullet and buy a reusable bag (The Bag) and a large supply of Purigen. For the time and effort to regenerate, Ill just replace my purigen after a few months of use. If you want a quick and easy solution to water clarity issues, this is it. Plop it into your filter (or somewhere where it will be in the water circulation) and let it do its thing. You will see clearer water in just a few hours and in 24 hours, your water will be crystal clear.

> 24 hourI have an overstocked 60 gallon tank. Overstocking is due to fish breeding, not me buying new. To deal with this I have a canister filter and 2 HOB filters. I still struggled to keep the water quality where it needed to be. With Purigen the chemistry and clarity are awesome. I like that it changes color to show when it is full. Satisfying to see. I havent tried recharging any yet. I just keep replacing spent with fresh Purigen. I have been at the fish keeping hobby for almost 5 years with this tank. I have made many a mistake. Over time I have learned to trust Seachem products. I highly recommend them.
