> 3 dayI have a 65 gallon tank with a RES turtle and another 20 gallon with a young axolotl. Was having problems with cloudiness in the 20 gal and this stuff cleared it up in a couple days. Its ridiculously clear now. Decided to put some in the turtle filter too and I thought that tank was clear before but wow the water is literally completely see thru now. I tried multiple fixes with the 20 gal so I know this product was the solution. If youre having problems with cloudy water, get this.

> 3 dayAll I have to say is WOW!! Purigen cleared up the tannins in my 26-gallon tank in about 4 hours (which isnt surprising since this bag treats 100-gallons). I put it into my filter (took out the charcoal bag) and will never go back. Look at this this way, charcoal is like a brick-phone as Purigen is like and I-Phone 8 (yeah I know 8 doesnt exist yet, but that is how good the Purigen worked). One minor problem did happen...the bag I was using broke open a small hole..thankfully I was at the tank when it happened and I saw the tiny pellets coming out of my filter. That said, I submitted a replacement request (only a couple weeks after order did this happen) with Amazon, who then shipped OVERNIGHT a replacement bag and paid for the return shipping on the failed bag! Way to go Amazon!! No stars deducted for that customer service!!

> 3 dayWell, this is one of the best things ive stumbled across by way of polishing the water in my 54 gallon Discus tank. I use 2 100ml pouches in the top tray in an Eheim 2074 Pro3e filter, on top of recently added Biohome biological media. I have driftwood and it really holds the tannins at bay. I took out the Purigen for a month after i thought the driftwood was done leeching after a year in the tank, but in a month the water was darker. After 3 days back with Purigen again and wow! And the fish act noticably healthier with it. Interestingly I have not had an effect on nitrates at all. Im using a litre of Seahem matrix in the bottom tray of said filter, and a litre of Seachem De-nitrate in a reactor, but my nitrates still climbed 2 ppm a day, until recently. (And Biohome in the second tray.) Nitrates have finally stabilized and do not climb which is good and what im after. Im not sure what is holding the nitrates in check but it is probably the Biohome and/or De-nitrate doing most of the trick. These were added at the same time in my desperation to curb nitrates. Yeah, i tried Algone but i got nothing out of it. Btw, I seeded the reactor with Seachem Stabilty. Im hitting the nitrates from all angles, because carrying 5 gallon buckets of RO water up the basement stairs was getting tiring for weekly water changes. Well water is pH 9 and 540 TDS - too hard to use, hence usage of RO water. I have a high bio-load via feeding the fish frozen beefheart, frozen blood worms and brine shrimp 3x a day, plus (5) 5-6 inch discus and may other tank mates: 2 rams, 6 tetras 1 shark, and a betta. I think it is a win win situation with Purigen. Not only can you see the difference, but you can literally see it load up with waste and you know it is spent, unlike carbon which tells you nothing here.

> 3 dayI have purigen in every single one of my change. I have 18 tanks at the moment and all of them are using purigen. For me it is a must-have. It makes my water 100% clear. You can also recharge the product so it is like new and I do it all the time.

> 3 dayMy water was very clear to begin with, but now I cant even see the flow pattern in my tank because of how much clearer Purigen made it. Its easy to use, works with ferts and CO2, and you dont need a lot of it to see the effects. Cool that you can recharge it when it gets dirty. Wont ever be as clean as new, but you can get it pretty clean. Or just buy a new pack when the time comes. Totally worth the investment, and Ill be running Purigen in all of my future tanks. Just be careful when using Purigen with medication and slime coat enhancers. I would recommend using a separate quarantine tank for treatments, but if not, be sure to take the Purigen out before treatment. It can absorb chemicals from meds and slime coat enhancers that can become toxic and leach into your water over time/after you recharge your Purigen. I got this info from Seachem Customer Support.

> 3 dayConsistently works to clear up water and remove tannins. Rinse really well before use otherwise you will get some cloudiness as fine particles are released.

Greater than one weekI’m not sure I understand how to use it says in the directions will treat 100 gallons. I thought it would be in a container with instructions how much to use per gallon etc. I have three tanks 39, 29, and 14 gallon. It came in a sealed mesh bag that I’m assuming is indicating to use for one tank ?? I guess I could cut it open and divide it by weight. Or buy two more. I thought I was buying bulk to make my own bags just a little confusing. I haven’t done anything with it yet so I didn’t give any stars

> 3 dayVery happy! I read a lot of consumer comments about using Purigen in aquarium filters and did just as much research on how it works (exactly) and decided to take the plunge and try it for myself. Well, Im totally satisfied with the results so far. I know this is not a magic pill, but it sure helps in the care of my fish. Yes, you still need to do your water changes, vacuuming, keep your filter healthy and check your parameters as usual, but if you can simply remove your charcoal filter and replace it with Purigen with a promise of clearer/healthier water, plus consistently safe readings...why not give it a try. As of today, I am very happy with my use of this product...my reading are Ammonia-0, NitrIte-0, NitrAte-10 and PH-7.6..I also started using this after my aquarium was fully cycled and this may have helped. So, as it goes, if I ever become unhappy with using Purigen, all I have to do is remove it and Im done. But, I dont see that happening any time soon.

> 3 dayI bought driftwood and boiled it several times and let it soak. Still after putting in driftwood I had tannins in the water which is great but not appealing to look at. I have a 10 gallon and I just put the whole bag (after rinsing in aquarium water) in my tiny HOB filter. Not only did it clear my water, it completely removed ammonia and nitrites and reduced nitrates. Pictures do the proof.
