Senco PC1010 1/2- Horsepower 1-Gallon Matte Finish and Trim Portable Hot Dog Air Compressor, Gray/Red

> 3 dayBought it because it was lightweight but still powerful enough for small trim and cabinet jobs. At less than one third the weight of my dual tank hotdog compressor the PC1010 is easy to carry up several flights of stairs. These old legs appreciate its lightweight (20 lbs). It is outstanding for small trim & cabinet jobs. If you are doing rough framing or roofing all day long this is not the compressor for you. It can drive twenty 18 gauge brads (PC brad gun) or eight 15 gauge finish nails (N60FN finish nail gun) before the compressor cycles on. If you run your guns below the compressor turn on pressure (95 psi) the last nail / brad sets the same as the first. Only takes 30 to 35 seconds to come back up to full cutoff pressure (125 psi). The PC1010 is also very quite. With some other compressors you need hearing protection unless you put the compressor in another room

> 3 dayHad this exact model for 17 years and it just decided to stop, so I bought one exactly like it. Hope I get 17 years out of it and I use it about every weekend

> 3 dayBought it to use as an airbrush compressor. Works perfect. I have had no problems whatsoever. Runs quiet as advertised. In fact, runs as quiet as the black compressor on the shelf above it in the picture. No cons on this end.

> 3 dayI usually dont take the time to write reviews as Im too busy, but this time is different. I ordered this little compressor because my friend had one and loved it. He said he was going around looking for things to nail at his house just so he could use his compressor. I know SENCO is a great brand and being an upholsterer, I have used their staple guns and know they are good. This compressor is light as a feather and can be moved around easily. I drive finishing nails as well as long staples with this little machine. When I first got it I filled it with air and then unplugged it for the weekend. When I came in on Monday morning it was still full and the needle on the gauge had not moved. It held air all weekend. My big compressor just doesnt do that. This little machine is the quietest compressor I have ever heard. It doesnt make you jump every time it switches on. Thumbs up for this tool!

> 3 dayI havent actually used it yet. The things I like all ready is that it weighs only 18 pounds. It is super quiet. Well made, so that if it did fall over, it wouldnt bend any pipes , or knock anything off. Everything is well protected by the carrying handle. I used mostly brad guns while out on the job installing trim on cabinets. I dont use a large volume of air. So much easier to lift and carry than my Emglo portable , which by the way has been a terrific compressor. Looks to be oiless as far as I can tell.

> 3 dayComparing this to my Husky 3 gal, which may be the noisiest compressor available, this Senco is very quiet. I dont need earplugs while its pumping up. Its quick to achieve 125PSI, and it does have enough air to shoot staples. Not many, but enough if you go slowly. As is mentioned elsewhere, the regulator seems to be moderately poor. The pressure at the nail gun seems to vary quite a bit, and sometimes drops too low before the compressor restarts. So if you are doing fine furniture, youd probably better look further, or get a better regulator, or something. But if youre just stapling screens, or tacking, or something where the nailset depth isnt critical on every shot, then this is a pretty attractive tool.

> 3 dayIt is quiet. It only has one tank, so it doesnt run forever before shutting off. It has a real pressure switch, rather than the cheap electronic switches many of the other small compressors have. Yes, they are all electronic, but this has a real pressure switch just like the big boy compressors. And, the price is right. Way better value for the money compared to something like a blue hawk from lowes. Ive got both, and this is hands down a better unit, and a better buy!

> 3 dayThe new Senco compressor arrived yesterday, plugged it and timed the build up. One minute 15 second to full 125 PSI. This will be my second purchase of the Senco compressor of this model. My first purchase was in 1993. That machine is still working. Only issue after 26 years the compressor portion of the unit has worn itself out, taking longer to build up pressure and not able to keep up with 18 gauge finish nailer. The unit has been used extensively over the years. Will update this review if I find that it fails in anyway.

> 3 dayI was looking for a quite little compressor for my work area in the basement. I load my own ammunition, clean pistols & rifles as well as other hobby type projects. Wanted something to blow off excess cleaning fluid and dry parts after cleaning. Also needed something to keep the reloading area free of unwanted materials that can build up. Ive used Senco staple and nail guns for over forty years and have found them to be well made and durable. Figured Id give this small compressor a try. Glad I did. Its fairly quite for the confined area Im using it in and doesnt take up much space. Its been used now for a couple of months with absolutely no issues, hiccups or problems. Just plug it in and use it. I did purchase the... Legacy A73457D Color Connex Type D 7 Piece 1/4 in. Red Coupler and Plug Kit, Plastair HoseKoil PU425-1-3-AMZ 1/4-Inch x 25-Foot Polyurethane Lead Safe Ultra-Light Recoil Air Hose, Blue and the Campbell Hausfeld MP5143 Pistol Grip Blowgun ... to use with the compressor and they all work fine. The Legacy Color Connex connector kit had exactly what I needed by way of male/female connectors for the whole set up. Make sure you have a role of teflon tape to wrap the threads before assembly and youre good to go. No air leaks what-so-ever. The compressor comes with a regulator that allows you to adjust the pressure going to the hose which is a plus. The air gun also allows further air-flow adjustment with the trigger. All four items are first class in my opinion. Im a cabinetmaker by trade, so Ive used lots of compressors and accessories over the years. For what I wanted out of this system it is delivering 100% and well worth the money. I can recommend this to anyone looking for a small, quite hobby compressor to use indoors or out. I plan to build a sound-reduction cover for the unit and further reduce the noise it makes simply because its used indoors and I usually have music playing while working in the basement, but its fine as is since the amount of air Im using isnt a constant drain and the machine only runs for a few minutes at a time. If you need a compressor that will have to run hard to keep up with your usage you should look to a larger system. Keep in mind this has only a one gallon storage tank. Constant, high-volume usage will keep the motor running full time and may not keep up with your demand.
